It makes sense! When I started in the museum sector, I went more of the corporate style. I didn’t want to risk it. While growing up in an immigrant household, we knew our best shot to be considered professional was dress more western style than our traditional outfits. Now that I know how the work culture is and I’m in mid level, I have updated my outfits with accessories (color, textile). I love that I get to show more about myself. I reflected in span of minutes of years assimilating. 🎀

My colleague who trained me picks her clothes several days ahead of time. She tends to choose to wear red on Friday as a way to celebrate the end of the week. It's fun to try to remember to mimic her.

🎀 I loved this, could you do a sequence where you do outfits for these formulas from your wardrobe? I love to see capsules in other people's closet, I struggle sometimes with putting into practice the theoretical. But I know it could be a lot of effort for a hypothetical job 😅 if you do another capsule in practice (for example for a travel), I would be interested as well where you implement this kind of thinking :)

I’m thinking about doing just that in a follow up video, probably next month!

🎀 I definitely need to do more capsule wardrobe stuff, thank you for the inspo, I work in retail but don’t have a uniform so it allows for a bit more general self expression, plus I recently lost weight so need to get rid of a lot of clothing now

I'm glad to be working in a field/company that's very casual. However, I sometimes like to wear blazers and skirts and dresses and colors at first people were like why are you so dressed up lol but I think they've gotten used to it just being my style now.

Honestly, erring on the side of slighter dressier is the better bet!

this is a great breakdown! I work in an office that is admittedly pretty casual & knits like sweaters & sweatervests work great, especially for where I live (Northeast USA) it is often either cold outside or cold inside with aircon - and yea the plaid trousers are a great staple!

🎀 instant sub here, loved this and it helps a lot. I needed to remove some of my self expression from my work wardrobe, thank you for that advice.

Just as a tip please do not judge others environment, they might be going through depression, ptsd, and or other things mentally since it was probably a mental health patient. It's easier to relate to if you've been through that and haven't been able to care for yourself.
