1. Writing a list of your most common occasions 2. Find some ideal outfits for each occasion 3. Write out items in those outfits and cross out the ones you already have 4. Items you don't have are your wishlist, the most frequent ones are your priorities 5. If you find something that's not on your priority list don't buy it 6. Know where you can find which item more easily, go to stores in more mindful order 7. Be patient !! 8. Don't buy things just to cross them off your list, whishlist is your guideline, not pressure 9. Don't rush, go with less people or alone, focus on YOUR style 10. When you don't know if you love it, isolate it from it's environment: will it look good with your wardrobe, would you buy it if it was in a different store, would you love it anywhere 11. I agree so much on the last point. In still struggle a lot but, I saw a coat on Vinted for 80€ and I keep asking myself how many other things could buy with the 80€ that I love more. Also I started selling my clothing that I don’t wear. And for the first time ever I feel like I learned what a pain in the ass it is to sell clothing so when I buy something new now, I’m asking myself is it worth it when I don’t like the item anymore to sell it to someone else.
It's the casual days I don't have clothes for. I find I love shopping for the "going to work" outfits or "going to church" outfits which I absolutely do not need any more of. But here it is Saturday,again, we're just having a regular day, and I only have workout clothes. It is the hardest category for me to fill. Dressy clothes are easy. Comfortable but stylish (to me) casual clothes are so hard for me!
Great video, I do something similar. I started keeping a wishlist in my Notes app and it has helped me so much with impulse shopping and planning out purchases. It’s a basic spreadsheet with two columns, one for the item, one for the price. I’ll put everything there from a $20 mug to a $150 sweater to a $2000 furniture piece. And as time goes by I’ll cross things off, but I always have to scroll past that mattress and think “Remember you want a new bed. No more shoes” or whatever it is. It seems small, but really does help with prioritizing. And seeing everything I’ve bought in one place can also be a reality check lol

This video is really helpful. One thing I realized I had unintentionally done is realizing I have a wardrobe gap and then overfilling it (eg. realizing I needed sweaters but then buying 6 sweaters in so many colors).
This came at the perfect time for me - trying to do a no buy month “except for” my list of gaps (which just grows, and then defeats the purpose). Thank you!

Looking piece off-context tip is really helpful. Here in Finland i think brick and mortar shopping is kind of a sad and desperate thing. In our capital city there are few nice shops and also nice 2nd hand/trift stores, but malls... nowadays full of bad guality fast fashion stores filled with too much stuff (even fast fashion used to be better guality 10+ years ago and we had also some of these mid end clothing stores with nice stuff for younger people) OR these mid end stores with sad and ugly devil-may-care grandma stuff. When you find something decent that remotely reminds something you have thought buying at some point or you don't hate but don't truly love either or have really even thought you wanted before, it feels like a gem :D

these are all great tips and i especially like the constructing a wishlist from actual real life scenarios/occasions that I'll actually be in. Everything I own is for staying comfy at home, because that's my most likely scenario, but I do have to go places sometimes and in those moments, I literally have nothing to wear that's occasion-appropriate. I'm excited to put these tips in practice and see what my wardrobe is looking like by the end of next year
i super relate to whenever I like a certain niche fashion item and it's worn everywhere online I tend not to buy it. Seeing it everywhere just puts me off too. Idk if its a me problem that i wanna be 'unique' in a sense, i just don't like it when every person out there has it. Also when a cute niche trend becomes mainstream and fast fashion brands like shein copy it makes the trend feel too microtrendy and can come across cheap. For example, the ribbon ganni top and the ganni buckle pointed shoes. I love them, I even bought the ganni shoes when it was worn only by small fashion forward 'influencers' but because some brands duped it I don't reach for it as often. I'm rlly all for dupes until the ones who dupe it present it cheaply

I had so much fun recently, making many collages for different categories of things on Pinterest. I’ve been curating my wardrobe for the last 3 years and it’s almost perfect. I have so many inspirations for outfits. Howeverrrrrrrr I have no where to go 😂😂😂. Well, I have very few places to go. When I started working on my wardrobe I was single living alone. Now I’m married with two babies and no time. I basically go to the grocery store and my mom’s house. 😂😂 oh man. When I had places to go I didn’t have the clothing options I have today and today I do but have no one to watch my kids so my husband and I could go on cute dates and stuff. 😅
