I appreciate this video so much because I start my Aveda classes in August. I wanted to hear some insight from someone who has went to the program. NEW SUBSCRIBER!!!!
Omg your intro when you said realtor and esthetician I’ve been looking into both and I have no idea what to do, thank you for your video 💕 blessings to you new subscriber here ❤
Girl I tell you I love when you post. You always give us good tidbits and nuggets to help in this journey. Aveda was a little to pricey for me. So I decided on a 10 week program. I do planned to do as you did and take a leap of faith and open my own spa. You look beautiful in this video. Thanks for sharing once again❤
Awww thank you so much!! I try to keep it personal and real with you all so im glad that’s appreciated ☺️goodluck on your journey by the way, you can definitely open your own suite for sure!!💕
@@Itsgabbysis Hello Gabby my daughter name is Gabrielle also. Sure, the school is called Florida Academy of Beauty. It's a 10 week course. You will go to school Tues and Wed from 9am to 9pm. The cost is $2490 that includes books, supplies, and state board exam fees. You take state boards on site. I heard the price is going up so double check. Blessings on your journey.❤
Thank you so much for your insight! I’m considering going to school to become an Esthetician after I graduate my Bachelors program in May. I have been doing research into programs in my local area and found Aveda to be appealing because of the smaller class sizes, the networking (bc we’d be working with their clients/ the admissions lady mentioned career fairs and in house opportunities to acquire jobs), and because the tuition was all inclusive of materials and things. However, I’ve never actually received a service from Aveda. Do you suggest experiencing their products/services before possibly enrolling? How do you think choosing a school would have been different had you not already been a client?
Also, the community college in my area offers a cosmetology program for a little more than Aveda’s cost but teaches you more. For example, hair/nails/estheticians stuff/makeup. Did you find specializing in esthiology a benefit or limitation to your private practice? I believe I’m most interested in becoming an esthetician and also have interest in manicuring down the line so had intentions of going to Aveda’s manicuring program as well but could obviously benefit from learning the range of skills at one cost as well.
You are so welcome!! And yes Aveda was perfect for that real life experience, i’d say just really weigh your options and go what you feel fits you the best no matter if you try and like their products or not. 💕 also as far as Esthiology being a benefit or limitation ..i truly only enjoy the skincare field so for me becoming an Esthetician was a benefit to me and not a limitation. Mainly because i dont have any desire to do anything else like hair, or nails, or something. Hope this all helps thanks for commenting☺️💕
Thank you for this video! I’m changing careers and naturally, I’m on YT looking at other people’s schools and experiences to get an idea of my future 🫶🏾 I’m interested in Aveda, so I appreciate your honesty and transparency in this video and your other one about $$$. Definitely will be looking into your ebook!
I’m halfway through my esthetics program! I’m happy I started after my millionth calling lol! Aveda was my first choice but it just didn’t work with my schedule and they were not trynna be flexible even with the part time schedule and we only have 1 Aveda in my area… and I feel like all esthetician schools just teach u state board and the basics from my research of all the schools I looked at but since now the practical is a thing in a past I feel like I just got scammed out of 14k 😂😩 but my school I chose was actually 6k cheaper than Aveda and I actually have been learning more from people like you and others I follow and just experimenting… and my school have it’s own brand but I do have some aveda products I’m still seeing what I like and I’m sooooooo glad everyone is welcoming at my school and I made so many friends and we all are in school for different reasons not just facials I think that’s important also in looking at schools making friends if applicable but u don’t wanna be somewhere 4 months and it’s just have a class full of cats 😂😂
I agree with you. We have 1 Aveda in my area and after looking at all the schools in comparison you are right they do just teach the basics. In my area I decided to go with a 10 week esthetician program that goes 2 days a week from 9am to 9pm yes it's a 12 hour day but I'll be complete sooner and we also take state board on site so that's cool. The coolest thing is it only cost me $2500 and that's all I could afford😂considering I still have student loans from college. Blessings to you on your journey.
@@intentionalhome thank u!! Hello. I been doing my research on several schools here where I live. I keep going back to the idea of attending Aveda. Others have told me not to go there because they don’t teach you certain things like microdermabrasion, certain chemical peels, etc. I am torn because I would like to attend Aveda, but I want those other trainings as well. Anyone has any advice?
have you ever went in to get a tour? i went for one and received a pamphlet and it states "Chemical Exfoliation Certification " built into the curriculum. But I would suggest going for a tour and asking more questions about that certification or any other questions you have!❤
@@brittanybrandywine6629 thank you, I’m looking to start next year; so far Aveda is the school I’m interested in. I was told by others that whatever I don’t learn in school (certain machines) I will receive training at the new place of employment.

Hi ladies @dinasti @kristikay my honest opinion i'd say try a more affordable route because you will most likely be taught the same information in similar programs to this and its best to not have so much debt coming out of school. The school itself was great as in their branding and standard of service however in the midst of covid it was very unorganized, and management really can be frustrating most days. Students were amazing🤎
