The thing about Kim accidentally calling Rich "Howard" is that earlier, when Jimmy gives his pitch to Kim, he says of Rich, "He's just Howard Hamlin by a different name." Thus, when Kim reflects on the misnaming faux pas, she decides Jimmy is right, and she comes up with her counter-pitch to Jimmy.

You guys missed a key point about that flashback in the beginning, it doesn't completely match the story Chuck told. Chuck made it seem that it was just Jimmy who ripped his dad off. His dad was kind to a fault and everyone in the neighborhood knew it and regularly scammed him. Chuck just assumed it was completely Jimmy's fault because that's how Chuck sees Jimmy. So he's right about Jimmy but he's also not right about Jimmy.
This is the episode were we see Jimny actually being honest and deciding to really be himself. He's not pretending to be something he's not for other people anymore. He tried it and it just didn't work. That's how it relates to the flashback scene. That was the first time that Jimmy decided to be honest about who he is.
When Kim called that guy Howard it was a Freudian slip. In that moment she realized Jimmy was right, she would just be trading one situation answering to a bunch of assholes for another.

I kinda get it though, a young kid being angry at his own father for being such a "whimp" and lashing out in that fashion. Having a weak father figure could unintentionally mold a character that way, even if his father was a good person. Damn this show does everything right.

It makes me so sad that Chuck thinks Jimmy was pilfering all the money from his dad's shop. It forms his opinion of him. The truth is (as we learned in the intro) that his dad was too good of a person to succeed. Jimmy saw his failure and that influenced him more than the one con guy in my opinion.

The solicitation issue is not one of legality, but one of legal ethics and standards for lawyers. Lawyers are not supposed to initiate contact with a prospective client unless they have a prior personal or professional relationship, or the client is another lawyer. It's a rule meant to protect non-lawyers from being preyed upon by lawyers who will scare them into retaining their services. It's not illegal to do so, but it is unethical according to the Bar Association, and you risked getting disbarred for it. Jimmy was skirting the rules by talking directly to the one person on the bus who had returned the contact sheet (thereby initiating contact), but doing it loudly and in a way that everyone else could hear him.

To the point that he was the known sucker where people go to get monry for free with a little sob story. When you guys say he's just "stealing from himself" you're right. But people were stealing from his dad which means they were stealing from him as well. If his dad was just going to give it away, if life is going to be so shit then why not be a shit back?
