Did I understand you right. On that screen with the 3 boxes. You delete the cache (bottom box) every month and this deletes all the daved data, including the airplanes and airports you've bought? And sometimes delete the cache from that middle box with all the up dates. And sometimes yhe top box(or was that still the middle box w/updates. So you have to reload the airplanes and airports and download the latest updates again.?? Thanks, yrying to figure out what monitor/tv to buy.
Another great video! I was wondering if you would do a rant video about MSFS. Stuff about the state of addons, for instance no liveries for AI traffic, the fact that the weather radar doesn't work properly. And anything else you can think of.

The only problem I have is ground texture blur when looking from above either from a plan or in the sky and I have the ground texture addon but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, also my sim had been really slow when going into the menu. ANY HELP WITH THAT
Very informative video. I'm learning some things about the xbox especially about game mode and heat produced by the box. It appears that uninstalling and re-installing your add-ons is similar to defragging my windows hard drive which I do after each update and any add-on updates. This really helps. Flight simulator really taxes my computer so I can imagine the heat it produces on the Xbox especially after a long flight. Soon I'll get me a keyboard and mouse so I can really climb into the Xbox cockpit!
@@Pilot0083 agreed! I have the pilot's gaming chair and all of stands and plates that hook into it on the left the right and one in the center. So on the center plate I have my Yoke and quadrant. On the right and left I have my Hotas thrustmaster stick and throttle, (it cost me $140 to have the cords lengthened). On the 4 plate, the foot plate, i have my Thrustmaster pedals. Then I have a new 4K OLED, 120 htz 75" Samsung HDTV, with HDR10 and Dolby vision, Samsung surround sound 7.1 with Dolby Atmos. I also have the Thrustmaster Air Force headphones. Al in all, its very immersive and very comfortable! Everything is bolted down and no wires are seen. All hidden. There are also old steam gages and 3 old tablets to make a artificial cockpit. That part doesn't work but it gives it a very cool look and very immersive feel! My series X has that new aircraft skin on it that shows a bunch of old World War II gages from an aircraft that you can get on eBay.

After a settings change inside the Xbox X, it controls the game mode there. Anyway, I purchased a keyboard and mouse but experiencing lag. Is it better to get a mouse and keyboard that is wired?

the biggest causes of crashes and odd behaviour on my system is the quick resume feature. I make sure I quit the app completely every few days from the home screen so the game reloads from scratch
I agree with this 100% and I do not use the quick resume. I know it is a pain to have to reload every single time you play but after playing, before I turn the power off, I do quit and have to start fresh the next time I get on the SIM because I noticed a difference as well!
Make sure you don't have the enhanced version from deluxe or premium pack installed along with the addon. Same thing fir madrid airport. Got rid of instant CTD's for me
Thanks for sharing this great video. Do you have all the sim updates installed? I’m asking this because once I’ve installed all the updates many of the settings are gone. Especially the rolling cache and data settings. And even though the photogrammetry switch is on it doesn’t work.
Render latency it's a damn shame. The Xbox Series S can run Upscaled 4k HDR better than my pc can. I fly the Boeing 787 intercontinental on Xbox easily no lag or render latency on wifi vs pc 6fps with render latency at 100 or more. My pc has an Asus Rog Strix RTX 2060 6Gb OC Edition, Intel Core I7 10700, 16GB XLR8 XMP of 2133MHz and plugged into Ethernet.

I found that my Samsung TV also has 4K upscaling so I tried switching from HDR10 to 1440p as you suggest. (In order to do this I was forced to first change the refresh rate from 60 to 120 Hz). I was pleased to find no deterioration in the picture quality when running the sim. I also deleted the rolling cache, but when it reached 100% the page just froze and I had to exit the sim and sign out to get it to re-start fully (not via quick resume). I have had this happen before when deleting the cache - don't know why? When I turned the cache back on and tried to set it to 32 GiB, it would not accept this size and the sim kept re-setting it to 4.4 GiB? Unfortunately after making these changes I am still unable to fly the Kodiak with the Garmin 1000 Nxi, but I think the changes are still worthwhile. I will investigate getting the fan from the details on your other video. Thanks very much for making this one.
I did the same thing because mine upscales to 4K as well if I drop down to 1440p. It also made me change the refresh rate from 60 to 120 just like you. But I couldn't turn the HDR10 off because it was just too ugly after using it for all this time and it had a washed out look when I lost the HDR10. I also turned the Native 4k back on because I didn't see a difference in frame rate between my 1440P and 4K. It runs buttery smooth so I guess I can't complain, it's just sometimes in areas of photogrammetry It tends to stutter once or twice every few minutes but nothing really noticeable so I just put it back to 4K because I saw it do the same thing in 1440P. But mainly in the areas of photogrammetry when I "stack" add ons. By this I mean like I will have an airport and a city package and a boat package all in the same city and it sometimes has a hard time with the frame rates when there's 3 packages in one area. And that doesn't count the 3rd party aircraft, or payware airport or static airplanes, or weather preset pro or new ground crew, and everything else that is trying to run at the same time.
@@Pilot0083 I haven't used much storage at all. I only have MSFS and 2K Golf on my X Box Series X and I only have 54GiB of Add Ons on MSFS. Yes, I did delete the cache, and turn off and back on, as per your video. Regarding the suggested monthly deletion of Add Ons; do you just delete the "Reserved Space" i.e. 54 GiB in my case (i.e. not the 1 MB against my user name)? and does this also uninstall the Add Ons? so all you then have to do is reinstall the World Updates, planes purchased etc.?
@@Foxtrot_EW Pity about not being able to turn HDR10 off due to the picture degradation, as according to Pilot 083 it reduces "strain" on the X Box. Good that the sim runs smoothly for you though. Pilot 083 came up with a lot of good suggestions, but I guess it is impossible to know how much each of them individually affects how the sim runs, and this will vary user to user as well depending on several factors including the number of stacked add ons you mention.
Did you do any changes under “Video Modes” I have a similar tv that has the 4K and hdr10 upscaler and I also dropped my console settings down to 1440p. Looking through the video mode settings don’t know what is worth keeping on or off.
anybody using FlyTampa’s KLAS scenery? I get constant CTD When trying to fky there. Don’t remember it happening with the previous SU. If i wsnt you it I have to uninstall the “city” portion and just keep tge airport. Which then mskes the city look like S**T! Just curious if anyone else has had the issue. Does it on the KMDW scenery as well. 🙄
When I click on data almost nothing comes up, when I type in cache, it's grayed out and not clickable. Also hrd10 cannot be toggled. My game is running like a old reel film. There is a line that starts at the top of my TV then moves down. This happens every 5-7 seconds. Nothing makes any sense.
Setting all traffic sliders to 0, and disabling multiplayer and live real world traffic helps with performance as well. I have resolved a lot of issues with this and other games, when using the reset console feature. You keep games and apps, so might as well do it when you're clearing the cache/data for msfs...
I do not know if just lowering XBOX X resolution will actually reduce MSFS2020 resolution. Whenever I start MSFS (even with lower XBOX X resolutions) the game forces 4k UNLESS I uncheck allow 4k on advanced settings.
@@Pilot0083 I didn't notice the difference between the 4K and the 1440P in frame rates. But I will try again. So I have a native 4K TV. If I knock that down to 1440P, and it upscales back to 4K, will it look the same as native 4K or not as good? As far as HDR10, I just can't let that go because I saw the difference on my TV and once you get used to HDR10 and you try to ditch it it's difficult because it has a very washed out look without it and I just can't bring myself to parting with that beautiful HDR10.
Great tip. I’ll use some of the tips you’ve suggested such as taking off hdr. However this still causes some crashes on the game mainly on a long flight when I’m about to land, the game completely crashes into the homescreen and restarts. I genuinely think this is a msfs software issue and not the console itself. So taking hdr off etc don’t think will help…until msfs fixes these bugs and crashes on their new update of the game.
I cant pick 1440p inless I override settings in the xbox display setting. It doesn't give me an option for 1440p in auto detect loke yours does. Would that still get the same result by overriding it. Also turning hdr off, my tv seems to still be receiving a hdr signal.
I’ve been having issues for a few months now and still have no idea on how to fix it. Every single time I try to load into Gatwick Airport (market place addon), my game crashes. I decided to delete the texture addon and finally managed to load into the airport. However, all the textures are missing and then eventually crashes again. Do you have any idea on how I could fix this and if anyone else is experiencing something like this at their payware addons?
Of course I wouldn’t use the add-on, still not good enough that they aren’t bothering to update an airport that people has spent money on. I believe that Gatwick airport is something a lot of people would want.
I've been using one of these fans on top of the exhaust fan at the top of the series s for a long time now, and it works wonders..I just ordered this fan for my series x..
I have a question regarding the fan on top of the Series X.. I have this exact 140mm fan, but I have noticed that the AC Infinity fan spins clockwise, while the fan in the Series X spins counter-clockwise.. Does this matter in any way at all? Sure it can’t damage the console?

Awesome video! I have a series X as well and and it's hit and miss. I have the same Internet speed you have so incredibly fast speeds, but I do run 4K and maybe I should back down to 1440P because my monitor does support that. My TV also has HDR, So should I turn off the HDR10 setting on the xbox? What about Dolby vision because it supports that as well? I have never had a problem with my Goshawk, not even once, but my Kodiak 100 will crash the system every time I try to load it! Uggg!!!
@@Foxtrot_EW The Kodiak 100 was causing CTD’s constantly for me too with the G1000NXIi. Apparently Simworks Studio know about this and are working on an update. If you uninstall the G1000NXi you should find your Kodiak should work fine. It fixed my constant crashes. 😌

It crached today as soon as I loaded it, And not even in a photography area but out in the middle of Australia on a dirt patch and it still crashed immediately. I'm just gonna leave that plane for a few months until they figure it all out and maybe come back to it. The funny thing is that it works perfectly on my series S but not the X.
@@Pilot0083 I tried taking off HDR, lowering it down to 1440P and even 1080P. I still get a little bit of slow down in the big cities like New York or London. But it's just in areas of photogrammetry and every place else is as smooth as silk even in 4K with HDR turned on. But it's not bad in 4K, it just has a flicker maybe every 30 seconds to catch up and and it's playable but it's nothing like being outside of the areas of photogrammetry. Unfortunately knocking it down to 1440P and turning off HDR didn't help in the areas with photogrammetry for me. But that is my series X on my home made simulator. However I have a series S in the bedroom that I sometimes play on when I'm in bed Before I Go to Sleep, and it plays flawlessly on 1080P without HDR 10. I have never had a frame rate issue even one time. But I do have to say that after using HDR10 for so long, And then turning it off is difficult. I couldn't take the look after getting used to HDR10. I don't even like Dolby vision compared to HDR10. But thank you so much for all the tips. Putting the rolling cash on and deleting it every week and leaving it on 32 gb helped! Thanks!!!
Ive bought two add on scenery for Brisbane Sydney and airport, whenever I go for landing or takeoff I occasionally get my instrument panels in the cockpit all turned off and sometimes my game just crashes.
I’m interested in your opinion on switching to Dolby vision. I enabled this on my console and disabled HDR10. Also, when you re- download addons do you have an order like scenery first then planes etc.
When u delete ur saved data at bottom do you delete both things (which would be the flight sim stuff and then there's your gemertag stuff in there as well)??
On XBOX, achievement notifications keep popping up during my flights even though I turned them off. When I return to my flight my plane starts to dive, the autopilot is turned off and sometimes my engines turn off. Anybody else having this problem?
Found this very interesting as I have heaps of CTD’s & blank screens etc. I also had something weird the other day, started the A320, screens appeared normal, then when setting altitude etc they went blank. Decide to take off and fly manually at about 6000’ the screens all appeared and auto throttle etc all started working. This has happened a couple of times now from various departure airports KLAS, YSSY, EGGL
I've had that happen with my A320 as well and sometimes when I load the A320 into a big airport with photogrammetry like LAX, it will crash from time to time. A lot of strange things and just when you think you figured it all you figured it all out something else happens! Microsoft flight simulator can be very frustrating and you have to have a lot of patience and sometimes I just don't have that patience! Ugg!

@@GumperVanLier mine are both wireless because I'm fairly close...(6 feet). I had wired 1st and then I just decided to go wireless for a cleaner look.

Thx so much for this I cleared the cache and turned off HDR and it’s worked flawlessly on my Xbox since I was experiencing major issues before this

The thing with lowering the resolution is good but I will not delete and reinstall the simulator anymore, I did that just a month ago.
Can someone help me. I am told at every airport that there is no ground service avalible. How do i solve this? I play on xbox with some updates

Great tip. I’ll use some of the tips you’ve suggested such as taking off hdr. However this still causes some crashes on the game mainly on a long flight when I’m about to land, the game completely crashes into the homescreen and restarts. I genuinely think this is a msfs software issue and not the console itself. So taking hdr off etc don’t think will help…until msfs fixes these bugs and crashes on their new update of the game.

I cant pick 1440p inless I override settings in the xbox display setting. It doesn't give me an option for 1440p in auto detect loke yours does. Would that still get the same result by overriding it. Also turning hdr off, my tv seems to still be receiving a hdr signal.

I’ve been having issues for a few months now and still have no idea on how to fix it. Every single time I try to load into Gatwick Airport (market place addon), my game crashes. I decided to delete the texture addon and finally managed to load into the airport. However, all the textures are missing and then eventually crashes again.
Do you have any idea on how I could fix this and if anyone else is experiencing something like this at their payware addons?
Of course I wouldn’t use the add-on, still not good enough that they aren’t bothering to update an airport that people has spent money on. I believe that Gatwick airport is something a lot of people would want.

I have a question regarding the fan on top of the Series X.. I have this exact 140mm fan, but I have noticed that the AC Infinity fan spins clockwise, while the fan in the Series X spins counter-clockwise.. Does this matter in any way at all? Sure it can’t damage the console?
As long as they are both blowing air the same direction then no , if not just flip it
@@Pilot0083 it is still pulling the air out and away from the Xbox, it’s just that the rotation of the fan is opposite of the Xbox fan..
@markcarrico7908 you are all good then , just the motor spends backwards so the blades are bent to the opposite of that for same effect

Awesome video! I have a series X as well and and it's hit and miss. I have the same Internet speed you have so incredibly fast speeds, but I do run 4K and maybe I should back down to 1440P because my monitor does support that. My TV also has HDR, So should I turn off the HDR10 setting on the xbox? What about Dolby vision because it supports that as well? I have never had a problem with my Goshawk, not even once, but my Kodiak 100 will crash the system every time I try to load it! Uggg!!!

@@Foxtrot_EW The Kodiak 100 was causing CTD’s constantly for me too with the G1000NXIi. Apparently Simworks Studio know about this and are working on an update. If you uninstall the G1000NXi you should find your Kodiak should work fine. It fixed my constant crashes. 😌
@@TheStoathoover Hmmm...I have it installed. It crached today as soon as I loaded it, And not even in a photography area but out in the middle of Australia on a dirt patch and it still crashed immediately. I'm just gonna leave that plane for a few months until they figure it all out and maybe come back to it. The funny thing is that it works perfectly on my series S but not the X.
@@Pilot0083 I tried taking off HDR, lowering it down to 1440P and even 1080P. I still get a little bit of slow down in the big cities like New York or London. But it's just in areas of photogrammetry and every place else is as smooth as silk even in 4K with HDR turned on. But it's not bad in 4K, it just has a flicker maybe every 30 seconds to catch up and and it's playable but it's nothing like being outside of the areas of photogrammetry. Unfortunately knocking it down to 1440P and turning off HDR didn't help in the areas with photogrammetry for me. But that is my series X on my home made simulator. However I have a series S in the bedroom that I sometimes play on when I'm in bed Before I Go to Sleep, and it plays flawlessly on 1080P without HDR 10. I have never had a frame rate issue even one time. But I do have to say that after using HDR10 for so long, And then turning it off is difficult. I couldn't take the look after getting used to HDR10. I don't even like Dolby vision compared to HDR10. But thank you so much for all the tips. Putting the rolling cash on and deleting it every week and leaving it on 32 gb helped! Thanks!!!

Ive bought two add on scenery for Brisbane Sydney and airport, whenever I go for landing or takeoff I occasionally get my instrument panels in the cockpit all turned off and sometimes my game just crashes.

I have problems with my flight simulator 2020 on xbox series x
Is that Game Mode the same as LG's Game Response Mode? I have that kick on every time and didnt realize I can run it 1440.
On XBOX, achievement notifications keep popping up during my flights even though I turned them off. When I return to my flight my plane starts to dive, the autopilot is turned off and sometimes my engines turn off. Anybody else having this problem?

Found this very interesting as I have heaps of CTD’s & blank screens etc. I also had something weird the other day, started the A320, screens appeared normal, then when setting altitude etc they went blank. Decide to take off and fly manually at about 6000’ the screens all appeared and auto throttle etc all started working. This has happened a couple of times now from various departure airports KLAS, YSSY, EGGL
Happens to me too. In a 787 from Seattle to Frankfurt. And often in military aircraft as well.
Reset your console and use the keep games and apps feature!
I've had that happen with my A320 as well and sometimes when I load the A320 into a big airport with photogrammetry like LAX, it will crash from time to time. A lot of strange things and just when you think you figured it all you figured it all out something else happens! Microsoft flight simulator can be very frustrating and you have to have a lot of patience and sometimes I just don't have that patience! Ugg!
