You make this look so easy! Then I spend hours with a huge chalkboard and chalk trying to copy it before I head to fabric. Believe it or not, it actually helps. Then I have to take the chalkboard outside to clean off all the chalk! 🤣. Thank you so much for these tutorials. I never dreamed I would even get this far.
I’d be embarrassed to show anyone how many times I e tried this design on paper. I have drawn and practiced and just can’t loosen up. I love the chain. I picked the wood grain up in 1 try. The leaves in one try and many others. My brain is not computing for the swirl chain. Back to practicing and thank you for the time you put in on these videos. Your quilting is second to none.
I've been longarm quilting for customers for almost 9 years, and I still learn little tips from your videos! I have all of your books and have taken your Craftsy classes. When a new longarmer asks me for advice...I send them directly to you!!! Keep up the good work, and thanks for the inspiration!
You are the most amazing person ever. You are so talented. I love love the swirl design. I’m doing better, but I have a ways to go. I’m hoping you add this in detail in your next book. Love you Angela.
That swirl is just awesome and I can see doable for a beginner like me love the additional elements included with them you are just so talented and promoting that anyone can do it with your relaxing way helps keep the edge off! thank you
Angela, I made 3 quilt tops with randomly placed pinwheels. They look like they are tumbling from the sky. An elongated swirl will give it a "breezy" look. Wish me luck! Thanks for the great tutorial!
You are a Treasure, Angela. Your generosity of spirit is waaay beYOND B-R-E-A-T-H-T-A-K-I-N-G. Thank you for sharing your Genius AND stunningly effective teaching style.
It always looks so nice on plain fabric but what does it look like in squares and shapes in a real quilt.I love to watch the videos .Your work and art is beautiful.I have learned a lot from watching you
Thank you for not only showing us how to do the quilting but when to apply the quilting. That is maybe the biggest learning curve. Application is always the killer. Keep Quilting. 🥇
Without a doubt you are the most talented free motion quilter today. You make me believe I can do anything and give me courage to try. I keep coming back to your videos time after time.
I like to watch quilting videos while I quilt. But when I try to quilt and watch Angela, I keep stopping quilting to come and stare at the computer screen! Love it!
Angela I watched it again. I love love love the swirl and the enlogated swirl. I can see a little bettet. I found your suggestions such as look ahead. Thank you so much for sharing all your talent. You are terrific. Don’t get a big head. Lol. You truly are wonderful and I appreciate you so much. And by the way I quilted my first quilt. It is done. Not the best, but getting better.
Thank you so much. You are a breath of fresh air to listen to and watch. I love you happy, bubbly way of teaching. thank you. Pamela . Hobart Tasmania, Australia
Thank you for taking the fear out of free motion quilting! I faced another fear and entered a little quilt show and won an Honorable Mention! I don’t think I could have done it with out your tutorials. You rock!
I love your tutorials! But in this one you make it look so simple. I can't wait to make a sample sandwich to try it! You do take the fear out of FMQ!!! Before i found you on UA-cam, fear kept me paralyzed, my first FMQ quilt sat for six months while i watched FMQ tutorials to built up my confidence! 1000 thanks for sharing your skills with us 😃
INCREDIBLE!! Truly!!! If only i could. I'll keep watching and working on it. Thank you Angela. I've said it before, but you always make me feel like "I can"....maybe - lol-. :)
Hi Angela, ur FMQ has been so easy to follow. . Ive been watching ur youtube shows, and they are helping my dear brain, to understand where to go when im FMQ. Thank u for being an awesome teacher to all of us trying to learn how to be so creative like yourself. Cheers Jenny
Angela, thank you so much for making this tutorial while quilting on the longarm. I watch and love all your midnight quilt show and quilting tutorials. Thank you for sharing your expertise and yes, I have your Craftsy videos and the majority of your quilting books as well. My friends on how my quilting has improved. I give credit to my excellent teacher...You.
Angela Somehow I didn’t realize until today that the reason I couldn’t get this design right was because I want making sure my elongated swirls face opposite directions. I don’t know how I missed that before! Thanks for this video I would have never thought to use the swirl chain as a motif. That makes this design super useful!
Awesome! Do you think on your next video you could show this on a quilted top. I just bought my long arm and I noticed that most of these videos always show quilting on plain fabric and not on a quilted top. Thank you
Thank you for your practical tutorial on how to use this design in a quilt! It's a beautiful design and doesn't actually look too hard to use! Thanks for showing us how - and encouraging us to with specifics on what to do. Little comments like "You can always echo if you don't know what to do" really has helped me as I've been practicing a basic curl or swirl design - (DSM - Janome) when I wasn't sure where to go next. Thanks again! I know you don't really have time to read these comments, but maybe one of your minions will tell you what we are saying!
LOL, I totally read the comments, and I definitely love knowing what tips and pointers you find helpful! Thanks so much for your support, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!
Watching your videos on how easy you make this look. I just bought my HQ simply 16. I’ve started doing some quilting and it looks nothing as incredible as yours. But i will get there. I’ve subscribed, and can’t wait to see more of your videos.
You are a genius Angella, I think it is such a gift that you share you knowledge of quilting and give so freely. I appreciate all your videos. I have ordered the 4 piece quilt rulers, and searching for the sewing foot you use for the rulers. I have a Juki I'd like to have one for, and my Gammill. I have a couple of Bernina but doubt if I will ever try to quilt on them. I want to be able not to fear the Gammill first!.
I've never seen anything like this! I'm a newbie and found you while searching for t-shirt quilts that aren't just a bunch of squares sewn together. Wow! I'm so inspired to learn more!
Thank you for your wonderful tutorials! I love how you pause the video and take time to explain each step, it really breaks it down and makes it seem doable! Now if I could only find the time to practice; my 3 kids under 4 keep me pretty busy!!
I've always been a cross-stitcher, and recently decided to try machine quilting. I'm finding all of your videos to be a great source of encouragement and inspiration. Thanks to you, I am excited as I have finished my first quilt sandwich and am now in the process of the actual quilting. I see mistakes, but keep listening to your advice to not over-think it and am looking forward to seeing the final result. THANK YOU for being such an inspiration!
I love your work. The first time I saw one of your videos I knew you would go places! Keep on going. The sky is the limit for you. You are so talented.
I've just tried this in the border of my Challenge #3 fmq. I decided to do this in one end and one side; then will do the echo bubbles in the rest... started out a little bit off balance but corrected soon enough. However, my border isn't very wide, so besides echoing the elongated swirls and paislies, there isn't much room for the rest. Maybe I can attempt this on another quilt! Thank you again Angela Walters for inspiration and the support to try new designs!
I still love watching you quilt on that old Gammill. I still use mine bc I am poor as hell but these old videos are a treasure still! :)
You really make a gal feel like she can do this with lots of echos. You're the best, Angela!
You have “The Quilting Gift”. Your work is always beautiful.
I’m going to use this on a quilt now❣️
I’d be embarrassed to show anyone how many times I e tried this design on paper. I have drawn and practiced and just can’t loosen up. I love the chain. I picked the wood grain up in 1 try.
