I cried when you told the story about that little girl who came back to visit you! You're such a hardworking teacher and you should be so proud of yourself!!🎉❤
21. You're instantly famous! It is so funny when you see them outside of school. They point, run up to you, or even hide, lol! They swear you live at the school!
I just ran into a former student at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago. He instantly recognized me. It's such a good feeling. Especially when it's a student who has come a long way!
It’s exciting to see a teacher at a public space and seeing how different and fun they actually are behind that mysterious figure which you know isn’t the real person they are in class and it’s amazing when a teacher shows who they really are and show u that they actually think you’re a good student
I was teaching about weather/seasons and asked my students about what the names of the seasons were. An excited hand shot up and when I called on him he said "deer season." I'm grateful for moments like that because they help me remember that I'm working with kids and enjoy teaching instead of worrying about observations.
Fernanda Sandoval I'm so happy for you! Congrats!!! I have two years left and I really want to teach kindergarten as well. What did you get your degree in just curious? Also, was it hard to find a job? Again congratulations and good luck :)
I am only a junior (almost senior) in high school and always thought I wanted to be a teacher but I was always worried that the cons out way the pros of it but I am now starting to realize with this video, and your vlogs, that it sounds like a pretty darn good way to spend my life❤️
This school year I was a freshmen in high school and this past year I moved in with my grandparents and live with them and my parents. My grandparents are in their 90's and it hard watching them slowly age and fall apart and my science teacher this year has always told me that I'm always welcome in her room and talk to her about anything and I very my so appreciated her.
I even have former students who come back to visit me as professionals, many of whom make more money than I do. :) Yet they still call me "sir" and still accord the same respect as if they were still in my class. Some of them even offered help in any way they can with the extracurricular activities that I sponsor. These are things no amount of money can buy.
I'm still in high school, and I'm not a teacher but you sound like an amazing teacher. I wish I had more teachers like you. I can say from first hand experience that a good teacher that you really connect with is an incredible thing.
I'm in grade 8 and I really want to be a middle school teacher when I grow up, specifically a math teacher. This was so helpful and I now realize how much of an impact we have on our teachers.
Every time you started to get teary eyed I started to cry! You have achieved such great things with so many people! I love watching your videos as I feel like I learn so much from you.
you are real! that's why you are successful. You show through your videos the struggles and excitements of being a teacher! that's what makes you a unique vlogger. Keep it real, keep us motivated!
I always wanted to be an elementary school teacher. Ever since the 3rd grade I remember dreaming about it, and I recently just graduated high school! The past year though, my mom hasn't been suportive of it, as she speaks from her not so great experience of being a preschool teacher. I told her it won't be like that, since my mom was never passionate about her job, but she wouldn't listen. It got to the point where I declared a major just to get her off my case and make her happy, but deep down, it left me feeling a bit lost and empty. I didn't want to disappoint my mom so I let myself down. So the past couple of months, I've just felt so lost and confused and just hopeless. But you really inspire me, Michelle. I believe I'll be able to change the world like you. I believe I'll make my mom and especially myself proud. Luckily, I haven't even begun my freshman year of university yet! I guess I gotta go change majors now! 😁 I really hope I get to teach kindergarten! Sending love to you! 💖💞❤
I cried a couple of times with these memories. Thank you for sharing! I graduate in three weeks with my BA in Education. Next year is my first year to teach, and I can not wait to implement the strategies and tips I have received from you through this channel. I am so grateful for all you do!
Thank you for sharing all of the awesomeness of being a teacher! This time of year it is sometimes hard to remain positive. You are so right - students are not showing their best sides, we as teachers are SO tired and stressed from all of the behaviors and end of year testing and such. It's important to keep everything in perspective and not take it too personally. It's so hard to think about some of those kiddos who are not looking forward to summer because school is their happy place, where they feel loved and are fed and cared for every day. It's heartbreaking to know the struggles some of them endure. You made my teacher heart full with your stories! Sending you love and hugs to help sustain you through these last days or weeks of school!
I just want to say that I totally feel you on this. We have three weeks of school left and I am feeling so much like you just said! It's that last push to the end that is really tough! I am glad to know I am not alone!
Thanks for making me cry on a Sunday morning.... this is the perfect video for every teacher to watch right now. You hit the nail on the head with all 20! Thank you!
You are such an amazing teacher! It’s so refreshing to watch your video especially after watching all of the videos explaining the cons of teaching. Thank you for your stories❤️
I teared up when you read that letter. Being able to make a difference in a child's life is 1 of the things that made me choose to major in elementary education (with a concentration in early childhood education). I can tell you are an amazing teacher. Seeing that all the rough days are worth it because the wonderful moments definitely outweigh them. Thank you.
I love you channel as A trainee teacher /early years educator. You are such an inspiration. Well done and a massive help. I have used your TPT store for all resources.
You always manage to brighten my day but this weekend I needed this more than ever. In the last three days I have spent about 12 hours completing paperwork for school - not planning for teaching, just extra paperwork. Tomorrow I don't have ANY breaks as I have duty and three meetings during lunch and after school. Every time I turn around I have another demand for something that doesn't involve me actually "teaching". I have to work on reports this week, so busy evenings again. So... I really needed to be reminded to look at the positives of the job. Tomorrow I am going to take every opportunity to see the joy in my classroom and that should get me through the rest of the stuff. Thank you.
Thank you so much for all your videos past and present. Don't know if you were offering but I have accepted you as my mentor. Your encouragement and honesty have pushed me to go back to school and pursue my dream as a teacher. Thank you I am ready now.
For the past three summers I have been doing work experience in schools and special education schools here in Ireland. I have always had a love for teaching but I wasn't fully sure if that was the route for me. After finding your channel last week I think my decision has been made..You seem to be one the most caring down to earth teachers and one day I hope to be as good a teacher as you! I graduate secondary school (high school) on Friday!! I am glad I have found your channel.
I also want to add that your videos have given me the motivation to finish my leaving Certificate (final school exams) and go on my journey to become a teacher!
Emma mc loughlin I want to go to Ireland!! so I could study abroad. I've wanted to go since i was 5 and I'm gonna see about going my junior year of college. I live in texas in the US.
So, this video made me cry over and over! I love your videos, you have kept it real and I can not tell you how many times your days and weeks have paralleled and mirrored my own! You were honest and it helped me get through knowing there is someone who is rocking it, go through the same things I am!! Michelle, you are an amazing teacher! Thank you!!!
I currently teach at a Title 1 school. I would just like to say your videos really motivate me to stay in the game. There have been several days of complaints and issues to hash out and you really forget why you decided to teach in the first place. The little things are always great ways to remind you of why we teach and the little people that we are inspiring each and everyday. Thank you for all that you do!
thank you so much for making all of your videos. you are an absolute inspiration. I look forward to watching your videos every week, thank you so much for filming the true ups and downs of being a teacher. I am a junior in high school and want to be a special ed teacher, and I can not thank you enough for your channel. you are truly a teacher everyone strives to be like.
I think part of the success of your channel is the content. Now days with all the privacy laws and children protection, I would not be able to take video inside my class, or talk about classroom issues or mention individuals and their respective issues etc. I am really enjoying watching because it is real and realistic and what teaching is about and how you stay so positive, upbeat, and keep persisting is really encouraging and uplifting for me. It's a shame that more teachers don't have the freedom to air all the good and bad like you have.
I'm so happy to have found your videos! I graduated with my BA in Psychology and Sociology but after working as a skills trainer for a year, I feel this great urge to becoming a teacher. Praying that it'll happen in the next 5 years :)
I really enjoyed this video. I'm currently working on my degree for elementary education. This video made me laugh, cry, and get excited about finishing my degree! Thank so much for sharing, I love your channel!
Thanks so much for making this video! I'm a first year teacher at a title 1 school and the past few weeks have been rough with increasingly behavior issues. I ended up taking a mental health day Friday and hearing these 20 things have motivated me to continue forward and have reminded me why I became a teacher!
Positives for me 1. I love to work with children with disabilities 2. It's not a job it's my career 3. I touch every kids heart 4. To these kids I'm a big sister a mom a role model I'm someone they trust and love 5. My kids know I would do anything for them 6. I knew I was born to teach but didn't realize it till 9th grade 7. I love the structure and routine 8. I have disabilities myself and I know the system from both sides 9. I understand them and I was in their shoes 10. I was born for teaching and I believe God put me on this planet to be a teacher for these kids
Ever since I was younger I have always wanted to be a teacher. Watching these videos have to reassured me that this profession is what I want to do in my life. Thanks for making these videos!!!!
Oh God, I’ve cried and laughed with you during the video ... Thank you for putting this video out here, helping teachers like me who are having a rough day, that don’t have supportive colleagues currently or for when we can’t feel the appreciation of our job’s importance enough. I have come home, feeling like I make no change and your video reminded me of what I actually do. I feel so proud and happy to be a teacher again. Really, thank you.
I graduated last Friday and I can't wait to start decorating my classroom. I really enjoy your videos specially the long ones. Please do a classroom decoration vlog since I know you are moving to a different school. Thanks for inspiring us. Love from Yuma Az.
In first grade I made my teacher books. I visited her one day and she still has them. You are such a great teacher and people should appreciate you and other teachers more. I love your videos too! ❤
This video gave me all the feels 😩🤗!!! Thank you so much for sharing your stories and experiences. I've wanted to be an educator my whole life and this fall I will start my first year of teaching. I hope you realize how much of a blessing you are to teachers and preservice teachers. Your students and school community are so lucky to have you! Thanks again!!!
I only found your channel a few weeks ago but it is already one of my favourites! I'm going to be starting my teacher training in the UK in September and this video has motivated me so much to get through these last few stressful weeks! You are an absolutely incredible teacher with such a lovely, positive attitude. I hope to be as passionate and hard-working as you when I become a teacher! Thank you for making these videos, you are so inspirational :) x
You are simply amazing! You are making such an impact on not only your students, but the entire teaching community! You give me inspiration to try new things and keep chugging when days get rough. You seriously are an amazing human being! Thank you for all that you do!
Thank you for sharing. Watching your videos on a Saturday and Sunday is the highlight of my week. I'm not in the teaching field but I love teacher videos. Blessings and enjoy the summer!
The debate/de bait thing really cracked me up! I teach English as a foreign language to adult students and haven't taught anyone under 13, but so much of what you said really resonated with me. Yes it's a ridiculous amount of working being a teacher, but it really is worth it. Really lovely video, you're really making an amazing difference in the world.
Thank you very much for this video. I recently decided to pursue early childhood education. Every day someone tells me I shouldn't become a teacher, but watching this makes be so excited to become one.
Well, I definitely cried a little. I have one week left of my first year of teaching, and you just gave me that spark of motivation I need to get through it. Thank you for always inspiring me to be a better teacher and getting me through the tough times. You're amazing!! ❤️
Ive recently discovered I wanted to be a teacher Im starting soon and Im nervous im only 23 and I feel weird because I feel like Im too young to handle my high school students but this video makes me feel a bit better Im glad i found this channel thank you
Such an awesome video! Very motivational. I love it when former students come up and say hello. It's such a great feeling. The hardest thing I've experienced is having a couple of students who had terminal illnesses. I do what I can to make their life suck a little bit less while I can, but I'm not going to lie, it crushes my heart.
I love watching your videos (even if I have seen them before I will rewatch them). You are inspiring not only to elementary school teachers but to secondary teachers as well. You said in one of your videos if you're not excited to teach something you can't expect your students to be excited to learn about it and that's carried over into my foreign language classroom this year. I try to make everything exciting to learn about (even if its confusing or not that exciting) so the kids will remember it. Can't wait to see more videos over the summer!
I will be starting my student teaching in January of next year, so I am definitely saving this video to look back on and remind me of all those amazing perks of being a teacher. You are so sweet and a wonderful teacher. You remind me a lot of myself (stress and all included lol) knowing you are one awesome teacher makes me feel confident and excited to begin my teaching career. ❤️
I fell in love with these vlogs. You are truly an inspiration and you show how hard it is to be a teacher. Since I found you, I have been binge watching it for days! Please keep posting videos!
I'm 16 and I'm planning on becoming an elementary school teacher. I'm definitely going to subscribe. I just found your channel on trending. I am so excited already to have a future very gratifying, amazing, and inspiring career. Im already so excited to decorate my classroom!!! Thank you for the video!
I needed this video. I am starting my teaching degree next semester and I've started to have second guess my life long dream of being a teacher. this reinsured me and put everythng into perspective. Thank You, and i hope thatin 4 years i am half a good as a teacher as you are.
Thank you so much for this video. I have 4 days left before summer break and today was horrid. I was laying in bed dreading tomorrow and the craziness that is almost guaranteed....but you motivated me to make the next 4 days the best !! 😗
I have to say this was the most beautiful video I have ever watched I just wanted to cry (and I'm not even emotional). I hope I can be a great teacher like you.
You remind me of my 5th grade teacher, back during my first year in the USA. I went back to visit her 7 years later, after graduating from high school. After watching this, I think I really do want to become a teacher/prof (for foreign language or english).
Wait till your former students write about you on an English assignment and their English teacher has them send you a copy. Just another confirmation that you are where you are meant to be!
I loved this video!! I love how positive you are in your videos and in your classroom! I wish I could just come in and sit in your classroom and watch you teach. I would have loved to have you as a teacher❤️❤️
I like your video. I work at an elementary school as a lunch lady. I can see all the work all of you teachers do. I see so many kids with behavior problems in the cafeteria. End of the year is the worst all kids are insane sassy butts.
Mascara alert! Lol...Seriously though, these are the main reasons I also LOVE teaching at a Title I school. Our students go through so much, but it's so rewarding getting to build those relationships that they may not have at home.
I'm currently only 13, but i really want to become a teacher when im older. I just found your channel and now i want to watch all of your videos 😂😂 I love your channel already!
I have wanted to be a primary teacher all my life and in just a year I'll start going to the uni to become one and you just made me even more excited for it! Also I cried so much bc of those cute stories with your students 😢💕
I would agree with everything except for the being a better parent. I teach the same grade my son is in and he went on a IEP this year for reading. I know what interventions I would try with him if he were one of my students but when I get home I am exhausted. I felt like the worst mother in the world sitting in that IEP meeting. Needless to say he's getting a mini-reading mommy boot camp this summer, but still..... I will say though I definitely am more aware of how much stuff I send home and how long I give for parents/students to return things. It's hard after a long day in any job to come home and have patience for math and reading homework.
I agree. I'm a teacher and have a son with dyslexia and auditory processing and it's so hard to come home and do HW especially after working with kids all day! I'm thankful for my wife who takes on that role but it has made me realize and adjusted the HW expectations for sure! I will say being a teacher doesn't make you a better parent but being a parent certainly makes you a better teacher!!!
LaDazha Ford So true, especially if you live in a small town! 😀
Roderick Woodard Yes!!! So sweet and too funny!
I just ran into a former student at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago. He instantly recognized me. It's such a good feeling. Especially when it's a student who has come a long way!
It is most definitely a great feeling to see former students! 😀
It’s exciting to see a teacher at a public space and seeing how different and fun they actually are behind that mysterious figure which you know isn’t the real person they are in class and it’s amazing when a teacher shows who they really are and show u that they actually think you’re a good student

I needed to watch this. I cannot adequately express how much this video touched my heart. Thank you.
This was confirmation that I am on the right path. I love being a preschool teacher.
You are such an amazing teacher. Thanks for going out of your way for your students.

Ive recently discovered I wanted to be a teacher
Im starting soon and Im nervous
im only 23 and I feel weird because I feel like Im too young to handle my high school students
but this video makes me feel a bit better
Im glad i found this channel thank you
Such an awesome video! Very motivational. I love it when former students come up and say hello. It's such a great feeling. The hardest thing I've experienced is having a couple of students who had terminal illnesses. I do what I can to make their life suck a little bit less while I can, but I'm not going to lie, it crushes my heart.
that camera quality is AMAZING!!!! also your background is so cute oh my gosh
Wow I cried so many times. You are an amazing teacher and I hope that I impact my students like you do. Congrats on 21K!
Oh my god I did not expect this to be so moving!! I had to cry the whole time!
LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!! So ready for these last few day, then summer!!
This was amazing! I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry throughout the whole thing. Thankful for caring teachers like you!
I m glad I found your channel. I cried too.. this is my first year of becoming a teacher. Thnakyou for sharing to us!
Thank you for this video ❤️ This made me even more excited to be a teacher! One more year!! 🎉

Thank you, I needed the motivation.
I am working on becoming a teacher, using an alternative licensing pathway and your video makes me so excited!! Thank you so much for sharing!
love how you mentioned caring about our mental health
Thank you so much for this video. I have 4 days left before summer break and today was horrid. I was laying in bed dreading tomorrow and the craziness that is almost guaranteed....but you motivated me to make the next 4 days the best !! 😗
I have to say this was the most beautiful video I have ever watched I just wanted to cry (and I'm not even emotional). I hope I can be a great teacher like you.
I'm so excited to become a teacher.
20 thumbs up!!!! I loved this video and needed a reminder of why I do what I do.... Thank you!
Honestly, best video yet....real, motivating, honest ❤️❤️❤️ just what is needed for this time of the year
Your videos always inspire me! I love how you show the good and the not so good parts of teaching. I have two more yeara of college :)
I absolutely agree with all of your reasons! Thanks for being such an inspiration 😘
Thankyou so much for sharing these heartwarming stories. Much appreciated.
End of the year is the worst all kids are insane sassy butts.
you helped me to get through the difficult times of this school year
Mascara alert! Lol...Seriously though, these are the main reasons I also LOVE teaching at a Title I school. Our students go through so much, but it's so rewarding getting to build those relationships that they may not have at home.
I've been binge watching your videos! I'm going to be student teaching in the fall! Love your channel
This video made me laugh and cry! This is such a great video! Congratulations on 20,000 subscribers!
I'm currently only 13, but i really want to become a teacher when im older. I just found your channel and now i want to watch all of your videos 😂😂 I love your channel already!
Thank you for sharing, this was so encouraging! Love your videos! Congratulations on 20,000 subscribers! Super cool!
I have wanted to be a primary teacher all my life and in just a year I'll start going to the uni to become one and you just made me even more excited for it! Also I cried so much bc of those cute stories with your students 😢💕
Thank you for sharing your thoughts today!!! It was PERFECT motivation and inspiration to finish strong!!!! LOVE your channel!!
Thank you so much for doing this! Just what I needed to make it 5 more days with my 6th graders!
