Askeladd being an Askechad of an Askedad even after death for Thorfin. "He may have been your father boy, but he wasn't your daddy!"- Askeladd to Thorfinn about Thors...probably.
Right here is testament to how far Thorfinn has come. He doesn't want to hurt anyone remembering the horrors of taking lives so easily. But here he understands that it's ok to defend others from aggression in his own way. He doesn't need a dagger or a sword to be a true warrior.

dont get used to this
he will get more and more pacifist
He didn't choose violence he chose protection. He chose what he couldn't choose with his own Family.
These people are all he has now so him fighting for them is just right.
It is not a posture, it is THE POSTURE with which this goat made hundreds of kills and with the same one that faced the mighty Thorkell
I love that they're not only showing Thorfinn's experience show through but also Snake's as well. You can tell just by his thought process of predicting Thorfinn's fighting style and what weapons he used to use.
Askeladd’s presence, animation, sounds, Thorfinn’s signature position, honestly, I yelled of simp
The sound design on this scene is perfect, worked very well bringing tension to the scene alongside the lack of music. Cheers Mappa
Do you know what the ost or song that was playing at 1:15 ?
@@Momentai. No, but I would like to know too

Thorfinn becoming more and more like his father Thors....
0:33 didn't notice this until now but pretty cool that his sword is vibrating.
Snake’s sword is from the middle east, possibly Persia or Turkey. Which would also explain his Mediterranean look, dark hair green eyes.
The battle instinct radiating from Snake's sword to his brain is top-notch animating
Aight,Imma be honest with yall…When i saw this part 1:49 i literally broke down in tears..
This season is brilliant. The whole story is masterfully crafted and keeps it logic of why and how Thorfin becames his own man. It's both horrible and beautiful, both tragic and inspiring. Another work of art from the far East. (Yeah I'm from Europe)
That flash of thorfinn as a young warrior when snake realized his stance.. CHILLS MAN CHILLS, the audio the background music. Everything
Thorfinn will now fight as his father thor only when absolutely necessary, with just his fists and no fatal damage.
This anime has me such in a choke hold, it’s such a great development story. I wish thorfinn would fight more like s1 but the character development is just too amazing to want different for season 2.
couldn't you have used a word other than a "choke hold"😭
@@AdilAli-lo7dq no.
Idgaf what anyone says. The story progression and character development in this anime is among the greatest of all time. Thats a hill ill die on
I'm sorry Thofinn you have to revisit this side of you, but Papa Askeladd with him even after death, that cliffhanger had me raging, that was like the top moment all season, near tears seeing him take the old stance and Askeladd mentor him once again. Gunna be one heck of a fight. He's taken after his real father, I don't think Snake truly understands Thorfinn, but he's about too.
Snake trying to figure out which weapon correlates to the stance, then realising it’s knives is so cold
Thorfinn at this point has no choice. I understand what he is doing. But he has to resort to it. Both have their reasons why they are doing what they are doing. And it hurts.
thorfinn is still struggling to fin a balance of what he want to be.
he went from feral for revenge to empty to extreme pacifist that will never fight back and now he is going to learn that is okay to defend yourself and protect others.
Notice how the battle music from season 1 plays when Tnorfinn takes his stance. What a way to bring it back. Yutaka Yamada playing his part at the perfect times as always
The details on the hands continue to amaze me in this season, so much visual storytelling is done through just the hands.
The absence of music combined with the sound effects from 0:17 on gives me chills. That was so well done.
0:24 that transition is so simple but so fking SICK
Mappa has done so well animating Vinland saga I hope they animate the Baltic sea war arc
Snake clutching his sword and activating brain meme to deduce Thorfinn's stance/weapon combo has me rolling and everything about this fight was perfect
0:26 best sound ever heard
You know a series is good when a freaking stance can give more chills than any other flashy combat scene.
Anime of the year no other one comes close the pacing the story the voice acting!!and the fights !oh ecstasy!!!
This cliffhanger was a great way to end the episode
Damn. One pieced us
This damn episode needs to win an award man! Made me realize how truly terrifying true grief and sorrow is and how simple and pure Joy can be. The background piano OST, the "I'm home" and "Welcome home lines followed by the ending theme just made me drop my head and just stay still for a second. 🙌
that flash with the stance of young thorfinn is so so good. sent chills down my spine.
My god the chills that I got when young berserker Thorfinn flashed on the screen with his original dagger stance. I’m glad to see him growing but man do I get nostalgic if his old knife wielding warrior days.
Never noticed how short thorfinn is compared to most characters
think he's even shorter than levi
@@magnificentbananabutter2475 Jesus Christ
people at that time were short :)
This screen literally gave me chills. I loved it so much.
You can't say he chose violence, he is unarmed!!
Yet he still has to defend the weak!
Goosebumps 😭🤘
my favorite character
No puede ser que este animé ya no sea un animé, es mucho más que eso, es una verdadera obra de arte señores.
Yes!
Askeladd being an Askechad of an Askedad even after death for Thorfin.
"He may have been your father boy, but he wasn't your daddy!"- Askeladd to Thorfinn about Thors...probably.
He chose to be a true warrior who doesn't need a weapon. Like his father said.
Right here is testament to how far Thorfinn has come. He doesn't want to hurt anyone remembering the horrors of taking lives so easily. But here he understands that it's ok to defend others from aggression in his own way. He doesn't need a dagger or a sword to be a true warrior.
