As a past Audiophiliac Viewer System of the Day, I especially enjoy these videos. It’s always interesting to see the various systems and how wildly different some of them are. Another great video Steve! 👍
evidently I can hear the squeaking of a decorative garden windmill fan next door that others much younger can't. Eye's closed, away from the window I can tell you relative speed by the squeak. Other's don't hear it at all. And now after 72 years of hearing all kinds of crap, I find out there are a number of things I thought everyone heard, but don't! Interestingly my 3 sons hear it. And 3 of us are audiophiles with good turntables.
I'm amazed at how many systems there are out there that are valve with horn drivers. I've been looking to make my own horn speakers as its quite the woodwork project - I build guitars anyway so its the natural progression!
Excellent episode! A system from Slovakia! My Dad would of been very happy to see. Beautiful systems as different as their owners. A great superpower indeed!
I love n enjoy your videos n have recently over the last 2 years put some serious $$ into a decent Japanese only system. Currently own an Accuphase E800 together with Esoteric N05XD streamer + Esoteric G02X clock. By next month i will be purchasing TAD ME1 after seeing ur UA-cam video about that speaker. Thank you...😊
Wow! Super Exellent! Some very interesting systems in there. One thing i miss (it is mentioned sometimes, but not as a regular thing) is what the users prefer to listen to on their system. That could enlighten the choises of components. Perhaps an indepth analysis with a user interview/input. I would love to watch that.
Steve is Super Audiophiliac Man - call goes out and his legions of followers respond with a tremendous variety of HiFi Systems. I am remodeling my apt. with my HiFi system as the focal point and these pictures are ripe with a myriad of decorating ideas. TACK!!!
theyre into buying gear, not into serious highest quality music playback. No one spends money into serious Room Treatment or even High end solution like Bass Arrays to get the best Bass Quality. The people think when they buying well known gear theyve an good system... wich is not the case
As always, super enjoyable seeing the variety of audio systems that people are listening to these days. It's neat to see some of the older integrated amps. I had a Marantz with the crazy "Gyro-tuner" many moons ago, wish I would have kept it. I miss not having a tuner in my system!
Hi Steve. Thank you so much for featuring my diy 3d printed turntable. I will try to make a build vid soon to give more info and a how to. The Carbo X Treme (humor) tonearm is on Printables and free to download.
yea but nearly all people dont understand it. Its easiyer to buy an Amp or Speaker than invest time into REW, Measurments and spending hundreds / thousands in the correct room treatment wich bring even the cheapest system on the enxt level. When you dont control the energy you put into the room, you get a mess - and people call that still ,,high end,,
My system was featured in this video and I have some room treatment. Bass trap in the corner behind the left speak that’s hard to see in the pictures. I also have a DIY acoustic panel on the wall to the left of the system that is covered with a tapestry I bought in Sweden (the wife approved). Probably the biggest thing my room has going for it is real cork flooring.
The Scientific Audiophile hit the nail on the head when he noted the majority of rooms shown are the weakest part of the systems. All modern knowledge is of the opinion that the room accounts for at least 30% of the sound of the system...Start with the room first and then you can actually hear what your components are giving you in terms of sound quality.
More than any club, organization, or political party (a great big " YECH!" on that last one to both of them!) it feels so great to be involved in high end audio culture. It is a true democracy because at its center is the joy of music! I'm a 63 year old black man and I love and appreciate diversity. All the diverse systems and music makes us all brothers. To all music lovers and audiophiles the world over Keep enjoying the music our systems my brethren!
On another note , I tried streaming Apple Music with the new Iphone15 Pro with USB silver connects from this Taiwan brand MPS ,it was quite a revelation. Beats my Mac Mini hands down. I’m using a Denafrips Pontus 2 ( upgraded FPGA ) and Iris DDC into a Willsenton R800i ( rolled PSVane tubes ) driving Kef LS50 metas and T5X in a small room ( 2.2m from spkr ). Wow do the Kefs shine in this set up.
because people have no idea that treatment is the only way to high end sound. Its easyier to buy gear than basstraps & absorbers, even if that brings your system on the next level
I see a number of people using the klipschs Cornwall which are actually horn tweeters . Somehow I feel that for vinyl and specially analog dome is the best way to go. I have a huge theater setup and a different hifi setup where I use everything strictly from the vintage era. But even my theater setup has everything in dome. Planning to buy magnat transpuls 15 inch dome tweeters towers. The reasons are dome, german made and for vinyl record I always love the bigger sound. What do you think. Please share your feedback if possible ❤😊
I find it quite astonishing, that people will spend tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of $$$ on hifi gear, yet have zero room treatment or have boxy little rooms with huge speakers cramped into the corners, or tons of clutter/furniture in front of speakers. Really begs the question as to how much of this "hobby" is to do with the obsession of gear (and showing it off!) versus actual audio quality output.
As I mentioned when I make requests, the quality of the photography plays a large role in my decisions. Next, how interesting is the gear. Poor photography, low resolution, dim lighting, awkward composition are definitely non-starters.
so many systems, so little to nothing room treatment in nearly all of them... def not audiophile or high end systems as most of the systems you showed in this Viewer Setups. Buying Electronic Gear doesnt lead you to a good system, its maybe easyier and more satisfiying but buying the correct room treatment is the way to realy high end sound
This mobile box is killing all other gadgets including audio systems amplifiers speakers etc. New generation listening music on iPhone or headphones! I fear many manufacturing companies will shut down after few years ?

It's an honor to have been selected for the thumbnail picture. Wish you all the best.
Hi Steve. Thanks for posting my photo. Greet from Slovakia.
Thank you Steve for featuring my set up. Your recognition and acknowledgement is an honor!

I dig the whole Brady Bunch décor (shag, wood panels & booze) of Eric's system @2:01.
You know you're old when the stereo equipment you bought new is now considered vintage 😅
Yeah there's a time when we realize that all the old people we knew are all gone and it's our turn next. 😦
Kids these days call 90's stuff vintage. That even makes me feel old.
That plus when you start hearing your favorite songs on Oldies stations :)
I thought his superpower was being able to hear high frequencies with 74 year old ears.

Some cool systems out there, great stuff Steve👍👍
1:58 I instantly recognized Eric's room from his Klipsch KLF-30 review on In Sheep's Clothing Hi-Fi. That green carpet is pretty memorable 😂

Some lovely vintage systems there
No room treatment for 90% of those pix. That a lot of money for a system just to ignore the room. Curious indeed.
9:55 love seeing some Heavy Devy in the playlist. If you don't know Devin Townsend, go have a listen...he's a true musical genius!
😁👍
Sweet systems
Thank Steve.👌🏻👍🏻

Love the Texas Altecs and the Heathkit setup!
Thinking i should send a photo of mine in. It's 2 systems together for 2 different purposes. Movie or music.

It's so important to have a audiophile hifi towel to cover the tv.
JBL C38 Baron @13:02 is gorgeous ...
What klipsch speaker is your best bang for your buck
Wouldn't the cat @7:14 be Catticus Finch rather than Catius Finch?
Presumably based on Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockinbird.
Steve didn't read the name correctly (no offense Steve!) - you are correct it's Catticus.
I love Prashants system in Goa
Hey Steve, where can I send pics for viewer system of the day?

OK, so you need a database with all the various products listed in each picture with cross referenceable Boolean searches.
