The BoC live recordings are some of the best I've ever heard. They all feel just the right amount of lo-fi, and the crowd voices add so much to the atmosphere of their music (even when it gets chaotic like in this track) - as others have said, it's as if they've become part of the music in a sense. On top of all of that, are the tracks released exclusively live. It's remarkable how lucky we all are to be able to listen to this at anytime and in any place, because I'm sure BoC intended it to be a singular experience. Like their old tapes, songs like this were meant to be heard only by the people at that place and time.
+versk8er419 haven't uploaded anything since this original upload soooo, if it's higher quality than other uploads I guess that's a good thing :) But I think you ment an actual high bitrate/vinyl release yeah?
yes, i was saying please to BoC, in case they ever read this... you've done enough by uploading this recording w/ such a fitting vid, plisb... and this IS the best recording of this track. there's another one out there that has louder highs but everything else sounds shit. i wonder if you can combine this and the other recording to make a more full bodied rendering of the track... anyways, hope it one day gets a proper pressing on wax in the wild!
well, someone went and did just what i said (combined both bootleg recordings) and it actually sounds much better! ua-cam.com/video/SHDph42Rl1Q/v-deo.html
the talkers are the crowd. i cant believe they are talking. they have no idea how rare the event they were at was. boc live? NEVER. some chick in another untitled live track is hitting on some guy. the 5min mark of this track is epic.
@moorbride Sorry but I doubt that you"ll ever seen them live..This recording is taken from one of the three I believe it is, times they performed live. BoC are very reclusive, I don't think they're too keen on playing live..I don't think they're too keen on society in general.. But wouldn't that be fucking awesome!
"Why not Breach Tones, Stry Craty Bya or Tend Towards? They are all around the same playing length as Noatak." Because according to one of the few people privileged enough to have heard BoC's pre-Twoism albums, they didn't start using sampled kids' voices until Hooper Bay. That "Louder!" sounds an awful lot like a kid to me. Also maybe I'm just hearing things that aren't there, but the strange frequencies that start around 4:00 sound like a continuation of the glacial tones that comprised "Circle", the track which immediately precedes Noatak on Hooper Bay and the only known sample that we have of the EP.
I can't even hear "Noatak" really. But it must be Noatak tho, if the sample didn't prove it enough, there's the childrens voice, the dark ambience similar to Circle, and the similar timelength. Think this must be it.
@@breachtonesi heard Noatak in this track the first time i heard it when it leaked years ago, the other sample says “Cigarello”… it is Noatak. I also heard the original years back on soulseek that came with other BoC mislabels. Buddy and i disliked it thinking it was a fake or a song by another artist. When I played the live version my buddy freaked out, although thinking back it could have been a better quality version of this song but i don’t remember the crowd banter.
I think there's a reasonable case for this being Noatak. The fact that the Hex Sun Official didn't reply doesn't necessarily mean anything. But this does match up very well to the purported track length, allowing for differences between studio and live sessions; and to my mind this is similar to a lot of the material on the Old Tunes compilations, and has an atmosphere / style which resembles that of the legit sample from Hooper Bay. It's not a strong case, but it's not too outlandish either.
Great point! I actually feel that it kind of adds to the effect of the droning sound that enters later - and they somehow just stfu after being "hit" with that :)
Only by 30 seconds. This is a live version. You can't account for studio discreprencies due to fade in, fade out, latent times etc... But I would money on this being Noatak. I asked a Hex Sun official and got no reply, which leads me to believe that this is the case. The aforementioned usually will debunk any untruths.
@The Electric Oak sorry, my hard drive fried not long ago and i don't remember which track was which. butit looks like TheMaku has most of the tracks on his channel, those videos with the picture of BoC playing a atp
Well I'd argue it doesn't; this beat is definitely something that could have between mhtrtc and geogaddi. Acid memories is described as being very slow and entirely made of hollow sounds like duffy.
Well yes possibly it is... and if the truth is hidden from us and we have been listening to it all this time then that is awesome. But maybe its just one of their live tracks. Who knows, still fantastic anyway. I appreciate your acceptance of criticism.
No, I'm sorry. I think I've have made my initial statement sound like a fact. It's just every time someone has assumed something incorrect in regards to BoC on certain forums, it's been promptly debunked by someone in authority. Ergo, my assumption, and it is indeed an assumption, that this is a live version of Noatak. I have no further proof to offer you. All the same, thank you for posting this and the amazing video.
TBH, I can hear the word "Noatak in the track more than once. That and with the time match and approx era of when this could have come from. Early album were more guitar heavy judging by clips I've heard.
hello there random comment from 2013 i guess, does your author still comes here to appreciate this masterpiece or should i remind him/her this... *do not mind me, just like responding to old comments, they are like time capsulesxd*
one question: when does the extremely warped voice ever say that? at what specific timestamp? :) Oh but then again you're only "almost 90%" sure of that :) haha, love it
I'm definitely not trolling here. I myself would like a 100% confirmation on my original post. I posited the question to MDG who is Hex Son official and also a moderator of 2 forums BoC related. He usually debunks mis-truths but won't give the game away if you're on to something, either.
Its a shame that they dont play out more, BOC is amazing, and more live shows would mean more chances to get recordings of their work without some drunken idiots yelling.
Wait what? they didn't reply so that confirms you're right? I thought they didn't reply to anyone. And If it is and I don't know it, that's awesome. I just don't want to be mislead into believing something when it's not. I'm still going to need more credibility.
This is the type of music you'd hear when a giant mothership hovers over Alaska.
That happened!
@@berryseinfeld6772 if I get abducted, I want to make aliens listen to BOC
Totally, a read from Fantastic Four “IF THIS BE DOOMSDAY!” fits phenomenally.
This is easily one of the best BoC videos (and unreleased tracks) on UA-cam. Absolutely sick. "NOATTAKKKK."
It upsets me that us fans are unlikely to ever hear and purchase some of their secret masterpieces! :(
it fills me with joy that us fans are able to hear (for free) some of their secret masterpieces! :)
I love the way the beat stops then little by little the drones come in it's just simply amazing; Boc are the only artist i listen to these days.
the drums at the start sounds so sick
Sound like Trans Europe Express.
I first heard this track a month or two after it was posted.
It was too much for me.
As beautiful as they can be - there is some darkness.

plisb uploaded a higher quality version of this song

I wish BOC would release this one on a proper mastered 12".
4:59 is so great
this tune and video is like a hybrid of an unreleased Kubrick film clip of the apocalypse, and the darkest satanic corner of your mind
Sayyyomas!
4:59 and on is so hypnotizing to the ears
Indeed. Soooo good
effing awesome...
Amazing video editing. The explosion towards the end actually twitches with the beat.
At 5:00 starts dark and deep sounds. I love it

Which live track?!
That’s hilarious!
I’ll have to check which one. Same chick…she sucks.
this is track 7 on "Live at ATP" (2001), which was part of a torrent i downloaded.
there are four other untitled tracks.. this one's my favorite.
Such an amazing track.
That part always throws me off, damn flashlights.

Kinsiz, I remember watching this video at my work 9 years ago. It's a Time capsule. Thanks for being on here.
Kaini Rue very nice to hear!
It splashed in my eyes, dont worry its only liquid acid, you just dosed 10 or 20 hits

DAMN. Amazing unreleased track with an AMAZING video as well. WELL DONE.
I'm not too bothered about the speech at the four minute mark, almost sounds like it was a sample.
I like Cage's idea of the music of chance.
So damn good.

too bad that purported Hooper Bay leak was a prank

Great vid man. I'm liking it a lot.
Fucking BADASS
a truly masterpiece.
This track is called Noatak, from Hooper Bay.
stylistically this is nothing like acid memories
I assume this just just another of the many unreleased tracks made between mhtrtc and geogaddi
Don't put that in her eyes!

Crazy video ! Boc excellent as always
wheres the other version of this on youtube? it had lower quality but the bass is bumping in that one. really makes the song

It sounds more like "louder".
i agree!
Always better live. like Autechre, total class though. Magic stuff. (better with smoke)
Superb.
WOW.
Ah... Just read about this in the description.
Only thing that would make it better is if it was a soundboard recording.
one question: when does the extremely warped voice ever say that? at what specific timestamp? :) Oh but then again you're only "almost 90%" sure of that :) haha, love it
Rumor has it that this is "noatak" from hooper bay

I thought this was that version, hmm.
We could always ask Machine drum to take on this one too ;)
Coool!!!! :)

estoy really be poopin
very unfortunate for the quality..maybe one day theyll release..
go look at boc pages, it is real, and you can still hear a bit of duffy

@GulperEEL do you know where i can find track 6 on youtube?
Why not Breach Tones, Stry Craty Bya or Tend Towards? They are all around the same playing length as Noatak.
"louder"
when will it stop
