Hey people, I don't have the access to the bennicoke account anymore but I came across all those kind responses today for the photo and the edit! Just wanted to say thank you, it really makes me happy! I was a teenager when I uploaded this and didn't really understand much about music production, it was all about feeling it. When I listen to this edit now, which is pretty messy with digital overdrive and a poor reverb tool, I love it even more cause it was so simple! It was pure love for the beautiful sound of BOC! :)
@@Josue-br7tr thank you! I didn't had the nicest teenage years, I was worried everytime about everything but at night all this noise got quiet and Boards of Canada made me leave the house. Whenever I listened to them I wanted to go outside and discover secret places around my hometome with my bike. I had some beautiful adventures out there cycling through the midnight darkness, like watching fascinating moonsets or finding myself in a rain of shooting stars. Sometimes I took the camera with me to keep some memories. This shot was taken at the airport nearby. I liked the rhythmic lights and to watch this really loud place from the silent distance but with my headphones on listening to Boc, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Plaid and so on. I like this photograph now cause it reminds me of the beautiful moments during a dark time. At night I felt like I could go wherever I want, it was a feeling of freedom and this photo of me reaching my arms out captures this feeling quite good. It reminds me that I'm capable of finding beauty out there even when life doesn't seem to be beautiful at all.
I listen to this almost daily. Its like sitting somewhere very high up on a hot night in summer, and a cool breeze caresses your bare shoulders and sends a shiver down your spine. You are alive and at peace. What a beautiful life this is.
Did just that eleven years ago. Drunk and high, no future plans, no goals in sight. Living on borrowed money, distressed and paranoid, but this song calmed me down. Even when the amphetamines going out the system as every bush was tricking me, every move was law enforcement or friends and family. I was ashamed of life, of my upbringing and on my intuition. Now eleven years later, I’m a father and I have good economy and plans with my partner in crime. I’m alive and at peace.
Definitely Roy.............. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
BOC has been a part of my life for over a decade. This song in particular. At my lowest, I listened to this on repeat and it was one of the things that got me through. Now, I listen to it and it’s bittersweet. It stirs up those emotions again but this time it’s different. I reminisce on that time in my life and I am thankful that I am still here. Music is powerful and I am thankful for the ability to share the same sentiment with so many other people.
Same feeling here, it’s bittersweet but the better kind. I had a rough episode in life about a decade ago. I thought there wasn’t any hope for me but time moves on, time floats away and time eases the salt from the wound. Just like BOC. Hope you’re ok pal and thank you for sharing.

The beautifully designed synth & chords to the field recorded park with children playing and adults chatting is.. indescribable. Keep in mind, that it's an advantage to be new there. I sometimes wish I just could move anywhere where noone knows my name and start a new life.
