If you are going to go back in time to see this show, make it count. Discretely patch into the mixing board and record a clean version of their entire set. Then upload it back onto UA-cam when you get back and post the video link here.
I spent the first few minutes wondering to myself what words were being said. At first it was unintelligible and I almost just accepted it as part of the beat. But as I strained my ears a bit more, I realized that it was saying "You're focusing, you're focusing" It caught me off guard bc I totally was focusing on understanding the lyric. These guys are the personification of genius
It's only identified as "Audiotrack 07" from the "Live @ Warp's 10th Birthday" set. The list is as follows: 1) Zoetrope 2) Happy Cycling 3) The Color of Fire 4) Telephasic Workshop & The Smallest Weird Number 5) Aquarius 6) 1986 Summer Fires 7) Audiotrack 07 Great set!
This is indeed an excerpt from the BOC set at the Warp 10th birthday concert. You can find the whole set online if you know where to look. Amongst the audience chatter, the same people's voices can be heard in the other tracks. It actually goes quite well with the tunes.
i was at this gig and it was amazing. boards of canada, squarepusher, autechre and aphex. me and my mate were so lucky to get in. it has been with out a doubt the best party i have been to. i did not know who autecher were back then a i did not like what they did but love them now. squarepusher did selection sixtine set. and apex finished it all of. but back then you could see aphex most weeks. the light house party and warp 20 were good but this was something special.
I went to this show too, I remember the bouncers were VERY heavy handed about even smoking spliffs but it was an amazing night - overlooking The Millenium Dome too, which was nice
i have had every BoC recording and this one in particular for a long time. this track is my absolute favorite. im not even sure why. thanks so much for putting it up here so it can be shared with others easily! and i agree, as far i know this is untitled.
Wow, just randomly found this, I went to this event at the Truman Brewery I managed to blag tickets from a guy at Warp in Sheffield, Gruff from Super Furries, most of Mogwai and the Hatrnoll Brothers were there, much of the night was sketchy though, for obvious reasons.. thanks for posting!
wow, this is a breath of 'fresh' air, even though it was 12 years ago!!! Sounds really good, apparently BoC are coming out with a knew album according to some radio DJ that claims to be friends with them... i really hope so, yeehhh and I hope some of it sounds like this, love it ;; )
There was a report on BoC that an album was in the making for the second half of this year, they have families but making music is still fulltime for them.
+Gillian Andrews Yes, that is the best way to get this tune downloaded to your life. Machinedrum cleaned it up very well. Wash. Rinse. Repeat as necessary.
definitely sounds like "condescending condescending condescending" and then "the one and only, the one and only, the one and only, (HI!)" regardless of what it is, i know my life would be complete for about a week with these unknown tracks released. especially spiro
Must've listened to this one a hundred times over the years. Seriously epic jams; find the mp3 if possible. Quality is already bad enough without being run through youtube. 'One, two, three... and four!'
Definately Boc and it was the warp 10 party but it was 1999 not 2000. Saw these guys at ATP 2001 and at the Warp lighthouse party. Unbelievably good. They have a habit of making tunes that they play live but haven't released. I reckon with Warp buying their back catalogue this stuff will all feature in a box set at some point!
Firstly thanks for uploading. How did you come about finding this audio/event. Some information about Warp and the event would be much appreciated! Also 0 dislikes the way BoC should be :)
I really don't remember where I got this from. Probably soulseekd it, but it's in a folder named "2000 live @ warp 10th birthday" and it's listed as the seventh and last track in that folder. On bocpages, I just found this: ...they contributed two exclusive tracks to Warp's 10th birthday celebration albums which were released later that year. The new (at that time) songs played, would be this unknown tune, another one (#6) and zoetrope, which was 2 be released on IABPOITC
@toalla1 I see what you're getting at but imo ae songs like Bronchusevenmx24 and Vietrmx21, and some gescom stuff, absolutely have brought a tear or two to my eyes. Surely BoC is easier to connect to etc. but whatever man, lets just enjoy the makings of epics from these artists :) About this specific tune, today is the first time in a looong while I listened to it - again, just WOW.
I have this as a BoC download. I'm not entierly sure, but the samples suggest the kind of motive operandi au BoC. That said, whether or not this is BoC I [F]ing love it. If it is not I would like know who this is [rhetorical/literal]. Yeah, this does sound like BoC to me.
Word is, they are gonna play soon for Warp20! keep an eye on the website, they're pretty much keeping it hush hush right now (just for a change) i think it is highly possible though!!
@Vertsk8er419 how come you're so sure of that? To me it sounds like the "o" in the beginning of the sample is more of and "au" or "ou"... plus kind of a "c" or "k" in the middle, maybe. haha...Oh these interpretations :)
Sounds reminiscent of the earlier, more percussion-heavy Boards. You know, Chinook and the like. I've heard it rumored that this is Infinite Lines Of Colourful Sevens from Play By Numbers, but that's just pure speculation as far as I can tell. Makes a bit more sense than the speculation that Audiotrack A08 is Infinite Lines, but either way there's no way to tell.
linkrulezall why does it make more sense? alot of the tracks on r35tt are presumed to be truncated, so cutting a lot off of a 9 minute track seems plausible if all it did was repeat the main melody until the end. I think there was also a source that gave a description of Infinite lines that fit audiotrack a08 nicely , but I cant remember where it is.
I wonder how influential BOC was to dubstep or maybe this track was influence by the early sounds of Dubstep 2000s was the starting period when it was becoming less 2 step dark garage and more like half steppy. Because I defiantly hear beat structure of someone like Mala or Distance or any of the early guys.
@attheedgeofthewood In my mind at least, dubstep is simply an amalgamation of preceding artists like BOC and Aphex Twin. It is a shame that the true electronic pioneers won't get the same commercial recognition as say Skillrex. It'd be really interesting to know what artists working now will make such a marked influence on the future of music. My money for now at least lies with Flying Lotus and everyone over at Brainfeeder.
@bobbygnosis Ae sleeps on the lap of BOC.. Each of them has its own style, but personally I consider that Ae possesses a futurist and inorganic point of view, in Ae there are neither nature or tranquility, ther's just brighted steel, plastic and any stones... Boc is a pure and harmonious peace, beautiful peace in wave forms!!!!
This sounds like something else. Though such hard inflicting drums/snare sounds uncomfortably unlike boc, as does the speed. Though at the same time it does sound incredibly boc. i like boc
if i ever invent a time machine this will be the first event i'll go to
Sinkuroi I call shotgun!
+Sinkuroi There may already have been a few time travelers at the event as far as we know.
+Sinkuroi If this event was the first event I went to, I would use a time machine to go back to this event first.
If you are going to go back in time to see this show, make it count. Discretely patch into the mixing board and record a clean version of their entire set. Then upload it back onto UA-cam when you get back and post the video link here.
I was there. Warp oversold tickets. Far to many people for the size of the venue. And the only food retailer was a hotdog/burger van. :(
"Happy swimming" "clock is ticking" "hope you're singing" "condescending" / "the line is broken" "the world is broken"
Why have they never released this masterpiece? It's right up there with Sixtyten and Aquarius imo...
This is, to date, one of my favorite BoC tracks.
listened to this song 4 times in a row today
I spent the first few minutes wondering to myself what words were being said. At first it was unintelligible and I almost just accepted it as part of the beat. But as I strained my ears a bit more, I realized that it was saying "You're focusing, you're focusing" It caught me off guard bc I totally was focusing on understanding the lyric. These guys are the personification of genius
I thought it was "The wise focus," but what do I know?
No it’s, “Mark is singing Mark is singing”
Someone said it's "God is in me"
If you listen closely it's actually saying "placebo"
i come back to this a lot
HOLY SHIT ! This track is subliminally sublime. Sad they haven't released a proper version.
i saw them here atp and the lighthouse, the full hat trick, besides my son, is probably my proudest achievement!
i sincerely hope BoC does a set at Coachella or Glasto sometime in the future. There's nobody I'd rather attend live in the world actually.
It's only identified as "Audiotrack 07" from the "Live @ Warp's 10th Birthday" set. The list is as follows:
1) Zoetrope
2) Happy Cycling
3) The Color of Fire
4) Telephasic Workshop & The Smallest Weird Number
5) Aquarius
6) 1986 Summer Fires
7) Audiotrack 07
Great set!
this track pre-empted the whole subsequent development of uk dance music for the next decade
I wish more people knew this
Fr I have just stumbled on this and first thought it must be a 2010-12 era post dubstep track. Insane
BoC invented dubstep confirmed
I would pay blood to see BoC live. This is absolutely fantastic.
5:14 "I can feel that in my throat"
I say!
Get a room!!
This is indeed an excerpt from the BOC set at the Warp 10th birthday concert. You can find the whole set online if you know where to look.
Amongst the audience chatter, the same people's voices can be heard in the other tracks. It actually goes quite well with the tunes.
Just amazing what feelings they can pull out of you with such quite minimal songs
....how have I not heard this before?
This is actually unreal.
9:38 climax with a groove. repeat as necessary, the crowd gets it. Love those loops...
i was at this gig and it was amazing. boards of canada, squarepusher, autechre and aphex. me and my mate were so lucky to get in. it has been with out a doubt the best party i have been to. i did not know who autecher were back then a i did not like what they did but love them now. squarepusher did selection sixtine set. and apex finished it all of. but back then you could see aphex most weeks. the light house party and warp 20 were good but this was something special.
Now are 30y of Warp, we are waiting a new BOC live!
Thanks for saving my life of an eternal hell of electronic boring music, I wish a great life boc...
I went to this show too, I remember the bouncers were VERY heavy handed about even smoking spliffs but it was an amazing night - overlooking The Millenium Dome too, which was nice
Refocusing, Refocusing, Refocusing, Refocusing, focusing, focusing, focusing, understanding.
i have had every BoC recording and this one in particular for a long time. this track is my absolute favorite. im not even sure why. thanks so much for putting it up here so it can be shared with others easily! and i agree, as far i know this is untitled.
Just realized i am playing this for 5th time in loop.
The vocal sample beginning at around 7:09 sounds to me to be from the same source that Tycho used in Dictaphone's Lament.
I was there as well, even got to have a little dance with bjork, awesome evening!
You sir, are blessed. The things I would do to see them live, ohhhh lord.
i was at this gig... i have to say it was one of my better decisions
So there's no way I'd be able to get this in better quality? Great upload anyway, thanks!
"Phone is Ringing"
so good. the vocoding is so sweet.
This song is one of my favourites.
i cant wait for the next album, i just want more and more. my aim in life is to see them live, somehow....
you ever see them live yet?
@@soulwave3523 I wish! Don't think they've done a live show in 19 years
@@nirvanabuzz69 Just wondering, how was Tomorrow’s Harvest?
@@Palmy0724 really enjoyed it. New Seeds, Cold Earth and Nothing is Real being my personal favourites
@@nirvanabuzz69see you for their next album 😁
the beats are pure joy
love these guys
"fuk this thingy"
great song. they sound just as good live
BoC are wizards with raw elements
Hey, great choice on the video footage!
This is now my favorite BOC song
THANK YOU
wow, this is a breath of 'fresh' air, even though it was 12 years ago!!! Sounds really good, apparently BoC are coming out with a knew album according to some radio DJ that claims to be friends with them... i really hope so, yeehhh and I hope some of it sounds like this, love it ;; )
In my humble opinion Ae is excellent and the Ae music escape of my interpretation, is just that Autechre was never achieving to extract a tear.
There was a report on BoC that an album was in the making for the second half of this year, they have families but making music is still fulltime for them.
I've seen this labeled "Untitled (Machinedrum edit)" elsewhere. Love this track to tiny, tiny pieces.
+Gillian Andrews Yes, that is the best way to get this tune downloaded to your life. Machinedrum cleaned it up very well. Wash. Rinse. Repeat as necessary.
+Gillian Andrews soundcloud.com/machinedrum/boc-untitled-machinedrum-edit
My guess is 'marcus and me'
thank you
@plisb He is right the sampled lyric is " love is in me " . It becomes extreme clear with psychedelics .
I FEEL THAT IN MY THROAT, YEH
Yes, please!!
Couldn't agree more. I'd sell a kidney to see them live, i literally would.
I wish they'd play at my birthday ! ♥‿♥
Love the singing Love the singing Love the singing Love the singing Love the singing

Must've listened to this one a hundred times over the years. Seriously epic jams; find the mp3 if possible. Quality is already bad enough without being run through youtube. 'One, two, three... and four!'
doesnt it make you feel agitated and upset they arent makin any more releases?
Its gone down in folklore as 'The Vocoder Track From Warp 10'.
Warp 20 gig/s next year should be rather big and hopefully good.
for words only for words only for words only
By slsk he means the filesharing program, Soulseek. You will find what you are looking for there most definately.
Oh yeah, you were right. Thanks!

@attheedgeofthewood much less than a decade later in the UK mate, dubstep went huge here in 2005 - international by 2006.

Sounds like "Partisan partisan partisan partisan, the clock is ticking the clock is ticking"
Parkensons, harvisting mocassins, It's quite the ambiguous sample! :)
I WANT ANOTHER ALBUM!!!!
"CLOCK IS TICKING" for sure!
