Sigurd pulling his sword from Fafnir's belly is a good metaphor for this. We all have our dragons to slay, but peace follows after. EDIT. I know he dies later guys.
Ironically, slaying Fafnir was the beginning of Sigurd's troubles, not the end. It kicked off a series of events that led to his doom. Sigurd was valiant with a sword, but his betrayal of Brunhild was what killed him. Bottom line, slaying dragons is important, and it could have brought Sigurd great happiness. But we also reap what we sow. So when the battles are done, put into the world what you want to get back.

*start writing a story with this song* The warrior stands over the slain dragon, his body battered and bruised from the hard-fought battle. He gazes down at the beast, feeling a mixture of relief and grief. He has slain the monster that took everything from him, but it comes at a cost. His mind is filled with memories of his parents, sisters and brothers, wife and son, all lost to the same dragon. He grits his teeth, feeling a deep sense of loss and sadness, "I did it," he mutters to himself, "I slain the monster who took everything from me!" On the other side of the story, the dragon, returning from a hunting trip, is met with a devastating sight. He finds his mate lying there, her body pierced by many swords and covered in deep gashes. His whelps are laying there beaten and bruised, the sight breaks his heart. His loud roar echoes through the skies, filled with pain and anger. This is the moment that sparks his rage, the moment that changes his life forever. He attacks the villages, seeking revenge for the deaths of his loved ones. He burns down the villages, destroying everything in his path. The villagers, terrified, only see a beast with wings and a breath of fire, hell-bent on destruction. The dragon feels a deep, burning rage inside him, and he is unable to control himself. Years passed, and villages continue to be burned down by the dragon. The villagers were terrorized, and the king became desperate to stop the beast. He sends out warriors, one after another, hoping that someone, anyone will be able to stop the dragon. And then, one day, a young warrior, a fierce fighter, arrives to face the dragon. He has lost everything, just like the dragon. His parents, siblings, wife, and children all burned down by this beast. He is filled with grief and anger, just like the dragon. And then, one day, a young warrior, a fierce fighter, arrives to face the dragon. He has lost everything, just like the dragon. His parents, siblings, wife, and children all burned down by this beast. He is filled with grief and anger, just like the dragon. The battle is intense and brutal, lasting for hours. Both the warrior and the dragon fight with everything they have, their movements filled with a combination of skill and desperation. In the end, the warrior finds an opening in the dragon's defense and strikes a fatal blow, driving his sword deep into the dragon's heart. The dragon roars and falls to the ground, defeated. The warrior stands there, panting and exhausted, his body battered and bruised. He looks down at the slain dragon, feeling a mixture of satisfaction and sadness. The dragon, lying there, takes his last breath. He closes his eyes, feeling a strange sense of peace. As he slips away, his mind drifts back to his mate and whelps, waiting for him in the afterlife. the end
