Their demolition of a very good Barcelona team in the 1994 Champions League final, 4-0, was one of the best performances I've ever seen. They nearly won it 5 times from 1989 to 1995. They still won the European Cup/CL 3 times in that period. One of the best teams ever.

I was at the stadium when Napoli played against Atalanta and Alemao was "injured" by the coin. If you watch the TV images you can clearly hear Salvatore Carmando, Napoli massage therapist, saying "buttati in terra" (get on the ground, get on the ground!) to Alemao who wanted to keep playing and didn't look injured at all. That's what made Berlusconi furious when Napoli was awarded the 2-0 win. One thing I remember about those years was the amount of coins thrown by entire stadium when Napoli came to Bergamo, at the end of the games coins were everywhere, "paving" the area below the stands and some fans rushed to collect them back with full hands. Anyway, my compliments, great video and great knowledge of Serie A!

This is the best historical reference on the most interesting, controversial, dramatic club I’ve known. It wonderfully narrates the best historical facts I’ve lived at an early age in the beginning of the 90s. That shift between Sacchi and the good old Capello is regarded one of the greatest periods in football modern history at clubs level. I expected at least a part that sheds light at Gianluigi Lentini’s rise to stardom as well as his end of football career in the beginning of the 90s, since it has always meant a lot to AC Milan fans. Beautiful documentary.
Lentini was unfortunately omitted just because there is a lot to cover and something had to give. Although I usually like to cover these types of characters (like how I covered Juve's Fortunato).
I have the utmost respect for Italian football (Serie A) so many great teams. Juventus, Inter , AC Milan, Lazio, Roma, Napoli, Fiorentina and company. Thanks for posting this gem
I'm glad that this piece of art is available to watch on UA-cam, you have dropped another masterpiece balon. I only hope for you to be widely recognized all over the world. Thank you.
20:43 best backline of all time in club football. I dont think we have seen a better collection of players to marshall a backline since the Milan team of the late 80s and early 90s. Franco Baresi, Alessandro Costacurta, Mauro Tassotti and Paolo Maldini. Whats ironic is that Milan was never considered a "defensive" side even though they had an all time great backline. Thats how great Milan was as a team.
You’re right about the best backline ever but I don’t agree that ACM was never considered as defensive side, especially by the legend of (ultra-attacking minded) Johan Cruyff. He spoke pretty arrogant and ugly about Milan before UCL final in 1994. His words motivated the Rossoneri even more and they’ve kicked Barca’s ass like no one before (caused him an incurable scars on his soul). The signs of this serious trauma were so hard that he spoke bad things, not just about ACM but Italian football in general, most notoriously during the all Italian UCL final in 2003, when he said: “UEFA should not award the prize, this is not football!”, like it was the first ugly final ever (which is not true). One more Dutch legend (Ruud van Nisterlooy) was completely shocked by the Milan’s defense, and he said: Well, Italian defenses are known for their defending, you know. They are horrible to play against, honestly. It’s like they don’t even wanna go forward because it’s a risk of scoring for the other team. They all stay behind… You can’t score. That’s the most important thing.”
@andjelkozlotvor533 I meant during those times, AC Milan were against the norm of the whole Catenaccio style of playing. Even though they were an all time great defensive team, their attacking prowess got more attention due to how different they were from the league
Beautifully done, I feel not a lot of attention is often given to Milan's difficulties before Berlusconi took over, so it's awesome that you covered them, as well as the origins of Sacchi, Capello, Baresi etc. I'd love to see a 'Context' episode on the "Aguero!!" goal, for example exploring City's years outside of the Premier League e.g. the '99 playoff final, before their ownership change
@@Eric-hu2dwas a united fan even though it pains they are quite interesting to study they were ridiculed by many teams and were considered pretty much shit and now they're treble winners and you might say it's only cuz of oil money then what about psg, malaga and more
@@SNKRKings-fz3sd of course it is because of oil money. Dont get me wrong, man city has formed a solid side in modern football and they may have a good history, however how do you think their history as a club drastically changed? It wasnt due to magic for sure, it was cause of the oil money. The one point where I can agree is that there was good controlling of their money, rather than buying without thinking. As Mourinho said they managed to do investments. But the thing is oil money helped them a lot. The same happened with PSG and Malaga. Tbf PSG are guaranteed French champions before the league even starts and are in a similar position to City in their league. Malaga got unlucky, as far as I can remember they got a scammer as a Saudi owner. So I understand what you say but cant really say that it is accurate. PSG have become a multipower that nobody can reach domestically, so they also have succedeed, even without a UCL trophy, with help from unlimited financial resources. So thats what I mean

Italy's serie A during the 90s was something else. as a kid i couldn't understand why english teams were so far behind. i feared every italian team in european competition
English teams were so far behind because they were stubborn and believed that "kick and rush" was the best footballing strategy. They also believed in outdated training and diet methods. Much of this can be attributed to 1 thing - Heysel. So the hate towards us Liverpool fans is honestly justifiable, as we did almost kill English football in that incident. The only guy who was smart enough to keep up was Sir Alex - that's why his United teams were the only ones who could make deep runs in Europe. This is before Wenger and Jose arrived, those 2 along with Fergie also helped a lot in making the English league what it is today. Along with Klopp and Guardiola too of course, but those 2 didn't have as big of an impact as the aforementioned 3
@@nathanhosea489 wow wee. i agree with everything you just said lol. i don't think this has ever happened in a youtube comments section. one thing I'll mention is the fact there was only one european cup place. liverpool usually finished 1st so they and their fans were usually at the forefront of trouble. due only to the single euro place available. had it been utd or leeds for example, then they'd have maybe gotten into as much trouble. the stank of hooliganism followed liverpool around for a very long time
An absolute masterpiece once again. Dare I say turned the fire up more on my love for Milan. Didn't know that could happen. I have been a witness of these wonderful Milan years that will surely be hard to repeat . A fantastic feeling going again through these legendary wins and unfortunately those only 2 non deserved loses against OM and Liverpool in those champions league finals.Great narrative that made me even cry watching the great players that have worn the Rossoneri shirt through these years. Very accurate , very professional and with a very emotional and retro atmosphere and voice that gave me the goosebumps during the whole time watching. It gives such an indescribable emotion that is hard to see elsewhere except in this channel . Thanks for this great documentary.
This is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever watched. It’s gripping, nostalgic, well researched, full of quality, well presented, carefully paced but never slow and extremely informative. Thank you for producing something at this high level. This reflects the football I fell in love with as a child during the Maradona years: art, philosophy, drama and history all perfectly balanced.
the history of this club is just crazy i looked at inter and bayern or even my club liverpool but i didnt really feel a spark when i saw AC milan;s however i felt such a hard spark in my stomach I may become a AC MILAN
I'm a madridista but I love the Milan of the past. Their values, their mentality, and their competitiveness. I've been recently watching their old matches and even looking to buy their old jerseys. Overall, I have a huge respect of the old Milan and all their amazing players. How I wish present day Milan upheld their culture and history like Real Madrid still do because they were very similar to Real Madrid back then which is why I found myself liking AC Milan quite easily and understanding why Ancelotti speaks very dearly of Milan... it saddened me to learn that they sacked Paolo Maldini from his sporting director job because he seemed to be bringing back a bit of their old winning mentality, history, and wish to compete to the dressing room again. I do think it was a mistake to push one of the biggest club's/football's legends away like that. Real Madrid's only true European rivals were AC Milan and I hope that one day they will be back. Who cares about City. I want historic clubs like Milan back!
Maldini was allegedly sacked for "not winning enough". Which is bs as it was going to take years for them to challenge on a consistent basis in Europe anyway. He himself has gone on record saying that the ambitions of the RedBird directors were unrealistic. Such a huge loss, really
I've been hooked to this channel for a few years now, since watching the barca video, and I can honestly conclude this is the best and heartfelt video released. My joy and love for football started at the age of 9 in the Liverpool and Milan final and I have a huge craving for football heritage. Such videos give a proper insight and understanding to the rich history of Milan and its talented players, understanding how dominant Capello was in the football world, realizing that invincible seasons have been done before, realizing Berlusconi was as positively-influential as the likes of Perez and that Milan was as dominant as barca 08-12 and the current man city side. Fantastic! FORZA MILANO
As a milanista for the past 20 years, this is the video I was waiting for. You’re the best in the business my brother, the music, the editing, the cohesiveness. Everything is 10/10.
15:25 what great build up play and interchange between Rijkaard and Van Basten. Just goes to show that the principles of football that are so revered today, has been going on for a long time and now that media spotlight has heightened, especially in the English game, now all of a sudden it is being treated as a revolution, while countries like Italy and Spain have been revolutionizing European football for a long time
Van Basten has always stressed how well things were organised at Milanello. I think AC Milan at the time was ahead of all other teams in professionalism.
You're the Best. Nothing else to say. Your talent to tell a story needs to be spread EVERYWHERE on this planet, for all true football fans ! B-R-A-V-O !

Thank you for this incredible video for the most iconic team in the world. Oh my god . I couldn't remember how many legendary players played for this enormous club. The Berlusconi era changed completely for me Italian and the European football. Grazie Presidente for all this unforgettable years . Forza Milan ❤️🖤
13:33 we need a Napoli video as well. But in all seriousness, Serie A was so strong during that time. There were incredible teams like Maradona's Napoli, Juventus, Inter and of course Milan
I cant begin to explain to this generation how good this team and era was. I can only compare the Van Basten Gullit Rikard status to that of Messi Iniesta and Xaxi circa 2010. Were talking the 3 best players in the world at that time playing together. It was incredible to watch.
Every video this guy makes is a piece of cinematic art and its unbelieveble he doesnt have more subscribers and get more support. All his videos give me goosebumps and make me feel like the biggest fan of the team/player hes talking about. Especially since pretty much most of these things ive witnessed as a child. Thank you very much for doing this video. From my point of view as a still ‚young‘ Milan fan from 2011 I always knew about the story, about the coaches, the players, the matches, the results etc. But I never got such a deep sight in the history of my club like in this video and I also learned some new stuff I didn’t know before, so I only want to say thank you very much for doing this video, thank you, thank you, thank you…. It was one of the fastest 1 hour videos I’ve ever experienced.
Thank you for this video, beautiful and sad. Can you do a video on Real Madrid's three peat? You already did one on La Decima. But for this video, I think this time it needs to be longer, to cover the 2022 win as an ending chapter for that squad.
First off all, what a best video you made, but it's so sad that Berlusconi had passed away 4 months earlier (several days after Manchester City won the Treble at Istanbul). There are important things you mentioned here regarding this video: 1.The Bosman system also changed an European football a lot. Although bigger clubs in Europe had a better performance with the presence of best foreign players, it also reduced chances of several clubs outside England, Spain, Italy, or Germany to have a full potential of becoming the greatest. Had this system didn't implemented, it might be exciting to see clubs from France, Portugal, and Netherlands to win the Champions League. Even Lyon in 2000s were destined to have more success. 2.The Calciopoli also destroyed the Italian Football. Inter Milan's 2010 Treble proved to be the last time a Serie A club managed to win the Champions League, although in the last season, there are 3 Italian clubs playing in the 3 different European Finals. National team of Italy also affected. Even though the European Championship was still good, reaching the 2012 Final and even winning it in 2020, the World Cup was a different story. They failed to play in the last 2 editions after losing the playoffs (2018 and 2022). 3.You also mention the English dominance in the Champions League, when 3 PL clubs did progressed to the semifinals of 2006/07. Between 2005 and 2009, England had at least 1 clubs featuring in the Final, but they only won twice. The 2007/08 was the best campaign of the Premier League in the Champions League, with 4 PL clubs reaching the quarterfinal and Manchester United and Chelsea produced the first all-English Final at Moscow. Both sides had almost made the rematch in Rome 2009, if not a Stamford Bridge Scandal was truly happened. Chelsea's 2012 triumph at Munich marked the end of the dominance, and PL clubs didn't dominate again until 2019. Between 2019 and 2023, PL won three times in the Champions League and there were 2 all-English Finals in 2019 and 2021. I hope this dominance will continue again when Wembley hosted the penultimate stage of this season on June 1, 2024.
When Italy dominates in CL it's usually with a lot of Italian player and coach's, when English teams dominate its always with 11 foreigners and a foreign coach, but their media and fans brag as it it's their local talents, example Pep and De Bruyne or Klopp and Salah. These are all exported talents, Milan and Inter had enough Italians to be proud of their achievements locally
@@blaquenguni9249 I think this is the main reason why England had always been a great underachievers when it comes to success in clubs and national team. The lack of playing experience for the local players in Premier League also contributed to their national team's underachieving performances in major tournaments (Euro and World Cup). Bundesliga and La Liga also achieved big success in Europe with a lot of local players and coaches, which also controbuted to the national team's performances. When Spain had dominated the world football in 2008-2012, they had some players from Barcelona that also dominated the world football under Pep Guardiola. When Germany achieved success in world football stage, most of the local players were from two successful clubs in the country, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. The 2014 World Cup squad in Brazil that won the tournament had some players from Bayern and BVB, who were featured in the 2013 Champions League Final at Wembley.

Felt sad watching this.. and remembering all the emotions and nerves I felt while watching the matches in real time… perfect end shot as well.. as everything after the 2007 win is just another bit of dirt on the coffin.. 🔴⚫️🔴⚫️… back then I definitely thought we would catch and surpass madrid in the CL cup race.. all after 2007 it was milan 7 madrid 9.. since milan fell off all of Europe combined has allowed madrid to gain 5 more.. Milan were there only rivals
Bayern and Liverpool were close in matching Milan's UCL trophies, with Liverpool almost surpassed this had they won the 2018 and 2022 Finals against Real Madrid.
@@ezraezra2928 could of, would of, should of.. by that measure Milan can also count the 4 times they lost in champions league. Liverpool is the best epl side in europe. And Bayern has a monopoly on all german talent.

There cheaters
Dont forget Parma and Sampdoria
@@tashrif46 Yeah, Sacchi’s Milan was pretty offensive and innovative.
City doesnt have a interesting history to make a video of a hour about.
Good Suggestion
Knowing his family well…this video gives me a lot of overwhelming memories and I’m an inter fan…. A true gentleman and visionary….people who hate him have a sad poor life
The two constant Berslusconi and Maldini who saw the ups and downs but never gave on up AC Milan, They say LOYALTY I hear MALDINI , this is what we fans love the history the passion the love that this game give to us FORZA ITALIA FORZA MILAN.
And Baresi too given he's never left the boat when they got relegated to Serie B 2 times despite being desperate
@@princessrosalina8079Yeah sorry i forgot to mention Franco Baresi he was the loyal servant too the MALDINI AND BARESI duo The Italian Wall is still by far the best defensive duo i have ever seen in football history
There's "Milan" in Maldini ❤
Sempre avuto rispetto ed ammirazione per il Milan e con questa era ho imparato che esiste anche un altra squadra, oltre la mia, che merita rispetto ma che ahimè è e sarà leggenda.
Per sempre. ❤
I am crying. Thanks for this, so many memories up and down.
We as Milanisti still waiting for the next moment of glory in the Champions League. #ForzaMilan
I wish you luck 🤝🏻
Thank you for doing this video brother. As a ROSSONERO🔴⚫🔴⚫, he was Perez before Perez. A true hero who loved the club with everything that he had with him, not just with money but having a true vision of turning this CLUB into a true FOOTBALL institution especially WORLDWIDE.
Yeah, that's why he was unique and charismatic
Channels like this are why I hate the word "content". Our guy here isn't a UA-camr creating content. He's a documentary filmmaker creating art.
Or a guy who makes cool football documentary videos on the internet
I’m an American trying to learn more on the clubs in Europe and this channel is great. Love seeing that it’s getting great reviews too.
A masterpiece in the form of a documentary, it is surprising that it is still free on UA-cam. This Milan and Inter 2010 made me a fan of the Italian league. Greetings from Brazil, Fahad.
Another masterpiece Fahad. A gripping documentary helped by you narration, editing and research. I love how you also end the narration before the climatic end that plays out with raw emotion. Greatest football channel on this platform ! Thank you.
I watched that Milan team in real time 35 years ago, still the best club side in football history
Time to watch this 100 times until you come out with your next video. Keep it up
We have to wait 100 years again lol. But cant blame him
You are one of the very few channels where I like the videos before I even started watching them. Simply because I know how awesome they will be, especially when I see it's gonna be over an hour long.
Your work is breathtakingly good, there's really no other way for me to describe it anymore. The never ending appreciation from your subscribers under every vid speaks for itself.
Became a die hard football fan and AC Milan fan in 2002, so when this story got around that time, it made me reminisce.
Thank you again for this wonderful video and your masterclass of a channel ♥️🖤
You know it’s a good day when balón uploads. The GOAT of football documentaries
We are seated for this Masterclass. amazing work❤
I have been a witness of these wonderful Milan years that will surely be hard to repeat .
I was 16 when I first started watching him now I’m 19 best channel ever
❤ Thank you from a Ac Milan Fan from Senegal 🇸🇳
Maldini was allegedly sacked for "not winning enough". Which is bs as it was going to take years for them to challenge on a consistent basis in Europe anyway. He himself has gone on record saying that the ambitions of the RedBird directors were unrealistic. Such a huge loss, really
My friend,
You are a GENIUS!
I absolutely love every single one of your videos
Thank you for these brilliant pieces of art
what crazy is ancelotti career. He was a starter in one of the greatest club sides and then became one of the goats of management.
He can make a video in any topic and turn it to masterpiece...best thing ever..worth a wait
Let's goooo! He is back with another masterpiece 😀
By far the best football documentaries on the internet, never stop making them!
As always phenomenal work! Your style and quality of documentary is unmatched on UA-cam!
Gotta love Sacchi. In his 40s he looked 70
As a milanista for the past 20 years, this is the video I was waiting for. You’re the best in the business my brother, the music, the editing, the cohesiveness. Everything is 10/10.
I've been waiting a long time for another content since MESSI's one ..Your voice, the editing, the background, content and themes are so top notch 🤩
Amazing, as usual. Best football content on UA-cam, bar none. Always worth the wait!
15:25 what great build up play and interchange between Rijkaard and Van Basten. Just goes to show that the principles of football that are so revered today, has been going on for a long time and now that media spotlight has heightened, especially in the English game, now all of a sudden it is being treated as a revolution, while countries like Italy and Spain have been revolutionizing European football for a long time
Your videos are amazing plesse keep them coming
Incredible documentary as always. The amount of work and effort put in is above big football documentary makers. I look forward to the next one!
Van Basten has always stressed how well things were organised at Milanello. I think AC Milan at the time was ahead of all other teams in professionalism.
Bro the editing of your vids are just stunning. Fair play brother I can understand the amount of time you spend on it.
You're the Best.
Nothing else to say.
Your talent to tell a story needs to be spread EVERYWHERE on this planet, for all true football fans !
B-R-A-V-O !
Excellent video. I'm italian and I remember very well the great Milan - late 80s and early 90s. It's rare to see a foreign video that tells that story so well.
The GOAT is back. I salute you Sir for your dedication & product. Keep going. 👍
This is without a doubt one of the top youtube football channels. To top this level is very very difficult.
You're very compact and detailed with your work, thank you so much- this is top notch narration
Every video this guy makes is a piece of cinematic art and its unbelieveble he doesnt have more subscribers and get more support. All his videos give me goosebumps and make me feel like the biggest fan of the team/player hes talking about. Especially since pretty much most of these things ive witnessed as a child. Its just fantastic. Keep up the great work!
You deserve far more views and subsciptions for your content. very interesting topics, high quality and well researched!
Thank you very much for this Wonderful historic insight about this legendary club.
I also enjoy listening to your voice. Keep up the good job 👍🏻
This guy should be acting as a narrator...in web series....he is one of the best narrators I have ever seen and heard... BALON LEGENDA
Amazing amazing editing, and story telling. The quality is so much higher than any other football documentarian
There is no better football history channel than yours. Thank you for posting.
Watching the last 10 minutes with tears in my eyes. I miss the 2005 - 2007 Milan team so much
Me too, but I guess they look okay now
Used to watch Italian football in the 90s and 00s on channel 4 UK :) This documentary give real nostalgia. Great video! Thanks 10/10 (Forza Milan!)
Fahad, you are such a hard-working man. I watched every single masterpiece you put 10/10 always.
Thank you for this video, beautiful and sad. Can you do a video on Real Madrid's three peat? You already did one on La Decima. But for this video, I think this time it needs to be longer, to cover the 2022 win as an ending chapter for that squad.
This guy is UA-cam underrated legend
Thank you for posting all this documentaries🙏
I watched this 3 times. Really great work. Gives Me Shivers.
Such brilliant work. IMO the best editor in sports journalism by.a distance. Kudos bro.
You produce the most incredible football documentaries on UA-cam. It's actually mind-blowing what you've achieved here. 👏
Thank you so much
I was waiting for this !
Spain era of world football
Dominance would be a great addition (2008/2013)
First off all, what a best video you made, but it's so sad that Berlusconi had passed away 4 months earlier (several days after Manchester City won the Treble at Istanbul).
There are important things you mentioned here regarding this video:
1.The Bosman system also changed an European football a lot.
Fabulous👍
My favorite football documentary channel on UA-cam period.
I’d love to see you make a documentary on Aston Villa or Valencia’s history in football
Much love as always Balon👑
It’s been a while, I’ve been checking your channel every now and then for a few months now, awesome to have you back on UA-cam ❤️
Fahad, this video is absolutely marvelous. I have supported Milan since 2001. I have seen some Milan history videos here and there, mostly in Italian. This one is beautiful. شكرا
AC Milan is like one of the only team which (used to ) perform excellently in European Cup but have topsy-turvy seasons in Domestic Cups
Madrid as well. In the past 20 years they’ve won the UCL 6 times but only won the cup 3 times in that period.
@@prometheustv6558but madrid won 36 laligas...... moreover the ucl is the most important and tough one to win......its ofc important
Correct
42:21 And, to think, Sheva did something that not even Ronaldo or Batiustia, two of the best foreign-born strikers in Serie A in the 1990s, and two of the greatest Pure No. 9s of all time, did in their first season in Italian ⚽. Didn't even know that. Truly amazing.
Absolutely Amazing. The details and the research is incredible. Throughly enjoyed it and will probably watch it again in 2-3 months. Hope the next video comes out before the end of the year Fahad. ♾️🐐
Thank you for this fantastic documentary. Bring back my childhood memories supporting this great club. Once Milan Forever Milan!
You are a master narrator. You bring awe and shivering passion to your listeners and revive the lost awe of football. Thank you so much
Wow... just wow, im so happy you are back and give us more of these amazing content... a blessing
This video is so well made. Part of me wants you to get hired by a big production company to keep on making these amazing documentaries but again I like watching watching these just the way you intend to make it and for free too
AC Milan...my first love
I’ve been a Milan fan since 1988. 2yrs after Berlusconi took over. This was a good job. Thank you! ❤
This an incredible video, thank you so much. I would really appreciate it if you did a video on the Nantes team of the late 1980’s to late 1990’s, I would appreciate a history and a tactical analysis of “La jeu a là Nantaise”.
