Diego Milito has to be one of the biggest bargain signings in history. Goal against Barca, goal against Roma in the final, goal in the final league game and 2 in the Champions League final

It’s just that since what he did, scoring the winning goals in 3 crucial final matches, didn’t happen in EPL or in an english club, he’s not really talked about enough if at all in most English-speaking community. The Ballon D'or lost all it's credibility when Diego Milito wasn't even nominated in 2010...
Diego Milito won 5 trophies with Inter in 2010 (Seria A, Copa Italia, UCL, Club World Cup and Super Copa) . He was arguably their best and most important player during the 2009/10 season. He was Inter's top goal scorer and he scored 30 goals that season (14 more than any other Inter Milan Player) which included 22 in the league and 6 in the UCL. Was 2nd top scorer in Serie A and 3rd top scorer in UCL. Diego Milito scored the only goal in the Copa Italia final against Roma and also scored in the Semi Final against Fiorentina, scored the winning goal in the last match of Serie A that won Inter the league, Milito bagged a brace against FC Bayern in the UCL final and also scored in the round of 16, QF and SF of the UCL against Chelsea, CSKA and Barcelona. He also scored several other decisive goals that season. Despite doing all this, Diego Milito wasn't even nominated for the Ballon D'or in 2010. ( Not even among the top 23 players in the world? )
And to put salt to the wound , Argentina didn't even call him for the WC 2010. Maradona was too proud to have him.
Milito have a fantastic season that if we use the "standards of today", for sure he would be nominated.
Just look at Jorginho , the guy was just there with Chelsea when Kante was doing all the work in the Champions League , and won the Euro 2021 when he miss his fucking penalty. And he end up 3rd place when he fk up Italy's qualifiers world cup cuz he miss TWO PENALTIES.
Anyways , not to take away from Milito , Sneijder also did an amazing season , everything that Milito had Sneijder also had it + a Runner up in the World Cup.

I am 57 yo and have been an Inter fan since the day I was born (or perhaps even before, considering that both my parents are diehard Inter fans). I want to congratulate whoever put this documentary together. It is beautiful! It is as if I could see my whole life as an Inter fan condensed in 55 minutes.
22:52 I was a kid watching that match, Olimpico was full of Inter fans that traveled all around Italy to come to Rome, even Lazio fans wanted Inter to win that match. 2:2 at half time and that 4:2 loss I never forgot, I cried that day so much.

This is great man. Would be cool to see one for Liverpool since they had ups and downs over the years and really went downhill at the start of 2010, but at the end of the decade ended up as champions league winners and later premier league winners. Or Manchester City, a team that barely made the top six until 2011, so covering maybe 1992-2012
As a man city fan there rly isnt much interesting there, i'm only 16 but my dad has had a season ticket since the 90's and trust me its all just mid table prem finishes besides a couple relegations and going to the 3rd tier.

you brought back so many memories, i was 13yo at the time, and i remember my entire family in the living room watching that final game, so many emotions, one of the best day of my life... incredibile video.
Luckily, this UCL final was my first football match. As an American, I saw it on TV and watched. Now, I have Militos jersey replica from the match hanging on my wall and watch all leagues and cups. This video is amazing.
Man i love the old Serie A. Only heard it from my late dad, but he told me it was the age of what they called Fantasista, the hero of the team. One player decide the whole outcome of the team. This hero goes south, nightmare struck the team.
Ofc heavily reliance on 1 player is bad for a team, but the story it tell was amazing.

It's amazing how little Inter won before 2007 in spite of the impressive list of absolute superstars who played for the club.
Ronaldo, Baggio, Vieri, Pirlo, Seedorf, Roberto Carlos, Bergkamp, Crespo, Adriano, Zanetti, Simeone, Zamorano, Pagliuca, Peruzzi, Cannavaro, Veron, Toldo, Blanc, Jugovic, Recoba, Winter, Almeyda, Sergio Conceicao, even old Batistuta and Mihajlovic, and the list goes on and on.
And the terrible thing is that aside from Zanetti, Pagliuca and Vieri, all these players either performed irregularly (Baggio, Zamorano, Seedorf, Adriano) or played just one year (Ronaldo, Simeone, R. Carlos, Mihajilovic) or underperformed (especially Bergkamp, Pirlo, Cannavaro, Batistuta, Veron, but to an extent also Peruzzi).
The (inflated) Calciopoli scandal swept away all competition, so Inter's successive victories in 2007-9 weren't that memorable.
But then came Mourinho's treble and that was just amazing as fuck

Thank you for the video. Remind me of the ups and downs being an Inter fan since the age of 8, I remember my first Inter match was seeing a jersey with number 8+1 or 9+1 by Zamorano, now i am 32. From disappointed, frustrated to overjoyed. What a memory. Hopefully we can achieve something special with Marotta & Inzaghi. Forza Inter!
