@@Speadyk You should get one of these. The only thing I wished differently is I should have gotten mine a few years ago (when it was $1200). The prices aren't going to go down.
@@JakeBorowski15 I love mine. I don't have to worry the second it starts raining with this thing. When it arrived I thought they sent me the 150-600mm. I double checked the inside box and opened that. I still couldn't get over the weight and checked the side of the lens to make sure it was right. LoL it may say just south of 5lbs, but this 70-200mm f/2.8 sport lens feels like 8lbs. But I don't mind it.
Why do you consider $1500 price a con? With the quality of build and glass, it's competitors would be the Nikon and Canon versions, both over $2000. $1500 seems like a pro.
Honestly, I guess the price of $1500 could be either a pro or con. I said it was a con because when compared to a lot of other lenses out there like the Canon 75-300mm at around $200 the Sigma 70-200mm at $1500 seems like a lot. That's all there is to it, but I do understand how it could be seen as a pro too. Thanks for the comment! Appreciate the discussion!
I gotcha. But the lens ypu just threw out there really isn't apples to apples. Most people would not be trying to decide between those two. They're two very different lenses aimed at two different consumers. Other than that, video is spot on. Keep up the good work.
Price is a Pro, for me, cause out of USA , si so much expensive, and much more other brands like Canon, Here in CR, Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 is a $1700 dolars , and even that price , is a Pro for me.
@@inphotograph3r484 Yeah I can see how that'd be a pro for some, but I said it was a con because for someone on a tight budget like I was, it was a lot to pay. But, yes I do understand how it could be a pro. Thanks for the comment!
Jake, videos are getting more views and more subs stick with it. You do a great job of making complicated details easy to understand and that's a huge skill.
I'm currently confused about choosing between Canon 70-200 F2.8 Non is vs Sigma 70-200 F.2.8 Dg ex macro hsm. I need this lens for my Canon 80d, for sports (Football and basketball) which lens should I take? or should I spend more to go to Canon 70-200 F2.8 is mark 2 ?
I honestly haven't used any one of these lenses but from what I do know I don't think you could really go wrong with any one of these lenses. That said, if you have the money I say go with the Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS Mark II
Maybe. I think they sell one for Sony cameras but I'd find out what mount that camera has and try to find this lens with the same mount as your camera. Hope this helps!
good morning jake how you're doing i just got my canon 80d and i want a good zoom lens like the sigma 70-200 and it's all black and i see it takes great pictures. i want a few lens but i don't want to kill my pockets you understand. but i'm in love with sigma products and plus it's cheaper than canon. i guess those photographers can buy them cause they get paid i do this for fun and i want to be good at what i do ya see.i want to get this 70-200 f2.8 over the canon 55-250 so i want your opinion i'm going to buy the 18-35 sigma lens the 35mm 1.4 sigma lens and the 70-200 that's a good combination right? i was thinking 24-105 and the 24mm pancake lens and my collection is complete please help me out cause i like taking portraits and landscapes and group pictures and i want to get into sports photography as well
If you're willing to drop that much money on all those lenses I would say that covers a good range and you shouldn't have a problem getting some awesome images, but if you take landscapes I'd say it's a good idea to have an ultra wide angle something like the Canon 10-18mm or something similar other than that though seems like a solid kit.
The autofocus for the 70-200mm is on the side. You can choose from manual focus, manual override, and autofocus. That's all you can do for AF on this lens.
@@mitchellweitzman9329 oh lol my bad. The autofocus is really good on this lens. It's super quick and very accurate. I've never had any problem with it at all.
What do you think of the quality of the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8?

Fair enough
