I remember when it came out in early 2002. I was 15 and I saw and didn’t care for it. It was too “chick flicky” for me. But looking back on it was actually a great movie, she changed his life

I've seen A Walk To Remember more than a dozen times when it came out on dvd. I used to be able to quote certain parts of the film. I'd like to know where the rest of that cast ended up. But Mandy and Shane will always be my faves.

Aging like a fine wine and comes across as such a humble and lovely guy. We need to see Shane and Mandy in a film again though their chemistry and lasting friendship is too genuine to pass up ✨🥰
The whole movie was shot in 39 days. I think there is a huge possibility that Shane and Mandy had huge crush on each other, and it was left unanswered when the film completed.
The movie did a lot of things right. Mandy was phenomenal. Something about her accent and voice and her character's vulnerability fit so well together that when she cried, we cried. It was so unstoppable.
They really did have crushes on each other.They both admitted it.

Man, I had a major crush on Shane West when this movie came out. My all time favorite, makes you tear up and makes you realize life is short and yes, people can change. Love Mandy too!

I got diagnosed with cancer for the first time the year that the movie AWTR came out - I remember tearing up. It was such a sweet movie and the two of them together were great! But I made the mistake of watching it again two years later. By that time, my cancer had returned with a vengeance. I decided after watching it that I couldn’t watch anything cancer or death-related while I was so sick. At that point, the movie just reminded me even more of my own mortality, that I was given a 0% chance of survival, and that I would likely be leaving my son an orphan. I couldn’t watch it again until I hit full remission 10 years later. I think A Walk to Remember will be one of those timeless movies that can speak to any generation. Shane West is such a great actor (loved him in Salem too) and love Mandy Moore in This Is Us. But outside of their careers, they both seem to be so genuine (not fake like you see in other celebs).

Mandy Moore and Shane West were phenomenal in their roles in 'A Walk to Remember.' It's already been 20 years since then. It appears as though Shane hasn't aged that much at all. He may have matured physically, but he's still pretty much the same person. A Walk to Remember, over the years, has become a timeless classic. To this day, people are still singing along 'My Only Hope' and 'Cry.' They're simply iconic.
A walk to remember is one of my all time favourite movies. I still cry when I watch it. So happy to see Shane West in more movies. He's a terrific actor and being handsome helps.

A Walk to Remember...I just rewatched it (which i rarely do). The sweetness and innocence of these two beautiful characters shines thru...a true classic.
Well Shane West’s character wasn’t sweet and innocent at first, he was a punk. But she changed him, which is what made the movie so good

I feel bittersweet whenever I watch AWTR. The movie brings me back to my youth, the younger, simpler times.. I was Mandy’s age when the movie came out. although both Shane and Mandy aged beautifully, I feel a pang of sorrow missing the *young* Shane and *young* Mandy. Youth is gone, nothing in life is eternal, purity & innocence long gone. Watching this movie, for some reason, always creates this aching feeling pondering on the ephemerality of life. Anyhow, Thank you for creating such a beautiful movie about the kind of love that is almost non-existent in our current world. I come back to it at least once or twice a year…

I watch this movie because of my brother. In 2002, his gf picked this movie for them to watch. I was 13 back then and I thought she wasn't very pretty but she was so nice. She was great at bringing the family closer together. It wasn't until I was older and seen just how beautiful she was. This movie will always remind me that I had the chance for a wonderful sister in law.
Mandy and Shane had such amazing chemistry! I would love to see them together again on screen!

My favorite movie of all time! I loved these two. I have watched this movie at least over 1,000 times and I cry at the same part everytime I watch it. I watched so much that I ruined the first DVD and had to buy a Second one. This movie taught my teenagers so much when it first came out. I continue to watch it when I can and never get bored with it. My grandson was named Landon after this movie!

Shane and Mandy 'made' that movie. I bought the book after watching the over. I agree with what people say here, movies like that dont appear much any more.
Their chemistry is undeniable! They look so good together and were born to play this characters. I cry by the end of that movie 😭 It is one of finest film ever....! Actually, lots of early 2000s would hit a special mark, but apparently this would take the cake, just my 2 cents 🏆 It looks so contemporary and fresh even by today's standart; even after 2 decades later.... The warm fuzzy feeling when the production partook that literature art of Nicholas Sparks' novel instantaneously reminds me of good ole days, a time that would never return 😵😢

All time favourite. I remember, I watched this movie for a hundred times over, bought a soundtrack CD, tape and read the book. Now my 21 years old niece also love this movie so much. I wasn't into romance at that time but I had to watch, "A Walk to Remember" and omg I still love it to this day. Shane was my teen crush😄 Mandy was and still my idol. The movie and book is now a classic.
I’m not much of a romance movie type of person either. But I’ll tell you a girl I was dating at the time kind of insisted on watching it on TV one day. I sort of just gave in and watched it with her. But I’ll tell you watching that movie wasn’t time wasted. It hit me right in the feels and it was a movie with that subject matter that was done right.
And funny enough a lot of my guy friends felt the same way (these were a lot of football players were talking about)
I think what it was though is that the movie found a sweet spot that was able to appeal to men as well…. Shane West’s character kind of played a knight in shining armor in a sense. And guys like to view ourselves that way too. So there was a lot of appeal beyond a formulaic love story.
A walk to remember came out when I was 12 and I vowed to name my first son Landon and I now have an 8yr old named just that. Watch this movie with my now 11 yr old daughter at least once a month and still tear up to it.
