Shane West should be one of the greatest stars ever. He has it all, and every girl watching this movie falls in love with him. I had never seen it until a month ago. I think I’ve watched it 20 times, cried each time. I think they should bring it back to the big screen so this generation can see it.
So many years had past but still this reminds us of a beautiful movie so romantic no one can compare..I love both of them they're the reason why i want to go back to College and pursue a career in Bs.Education Major in English i was inspired by them and looking forward to teach everything about this movie to my future student's showed them how inspiring it was and true love does exists..Im Mark from Phillippines 😊❤💕

Mel John Clark that's not a part 2, that'll be a separate film. having a girl that meets landon just wouldn't be the same. i think a part 2 in 'Dear John' would make most sense.
That's not what Mandy said recently during the movie's 15th yr.cast celebration get together..She said that her 16 yr.old self fell hard for Shane her older leading man of 24 Lol)..She said that she loved the way he walked,talked ,and how cool he dressed and a bunch of other things that she liked about him .. So yeah Mandy was "Crushin" big time during those two months that they were in NC filming this beautiful movie..I do not think that Shane felt quite the same about her though (which is always a bummer to have that crush and the person your crazy about keeps you in the friend zone) Shane did say that he knew that the y producers had been talking with another well known actress to play Jamie and that he was so relieved that they choose Mandy because the two of them had the right chemistry to bring Landon and Jamie to life on camera..I mean seriously Mandy Moore was born to play Jamie Sutherland she brought forth her innocence and love for all humanity perfectly..So they were not a real life couple probably due to the age difference but who knows maybe one day they might run into each other and start dating ..Hey ya never know anything I possible ..Lol!

The characters and real life are different. The bond and personality in characters aren't real. You fall in love because of experience and bond in real life
