I don't know how you juggle kids, 13 hour days with all that driving and then repairing salvage not to mention editing videos. Amazing work ethic, I wonder what you could achieve if you had the funding. Your missus must be very understanding too, mine gives me 2 hours in the garage on a weekend 😀
Another job that goes unappreciated, people think their cars appear by magic. Always made my car delivery drivers a brew, if they had time! Car Logistics is getting bigger and bigger after COVID, since everybody wants their car delivered. Hard work Dean, media superstar pays better 👍😎
Wow long old days then, I hope it pays well. And looking after the family too as well as UA-cam. If I was gone that long my Mrs would run out of text's!
Hi Dean. Enjoyed the change from the usual channel content. I could not be out of the house and on the road for that lengh of time. You and people like you, are under Appreciated for what you all do. 👍👍 See you in the next one.
The Delightful Security Guard at North Shields..... we have to put up with him every time 😆 🤣 😂 16yrs and he finally talks to me in there....... Nice to see u enjoyed it there...
I have to say you’re doing a fantastic job guggling 12 hour days, kids, and all you’re projects. Keep up the great work! You deserve a lot more subs. But none the less love you’re content!
I used to take the piss out of dad when he was a taxi driver. He’d come home tired and I’d say but you’ve been sat in your arse all day. He say it’s mentally exhausting concentrating on traffic all day. I used to laugh until I tried it. Driving for a living is exhausting so big respect for cramming all the stuff in that you do.
Credit to ya Dean I too have done 12 hour days for many many years and that’s 12 hours work not including getting up hour before travelling and then home gruelling physical work so like I say good on ya buddy 👍🏻😉
up my neck of the woods in the north east, theres a few youtrube channels dedicated to driving , trucker jay in the uk bein one of my subs so theres viewer there definately. great to see your day to day , no 2 days are the same.
Trucker Jay is a knob who shouldn't be anywhere near a lorry. The vast majority of situations he gets in are ones he's deliberately created to get a UA-cam video out of it. He had more accidents and mishaps in his first year of driving than most of us have in our entire careers, he certainly had more than I've had in the 26 years I've been doing it.
I used to deliver driving school cars, worst part of the job when the trailer was on was meeting driving hours on the tacho and trying to offload in residential streets in London. People think you are joking when you say you need at least 50 feet long parking space.
No money in it. Every man and his dog are doing it and the majority of them doing it are doing it illegally, running overweight, not complying with GB Domestic Drivers Hours etc.
Glad to see you're using a tacho and doing it legally. You need to be very careful if you do need them and you're not using a tacho especially on the motorways around Manchester as NW Motorway Police section are having a purge on car transporters like yours.
Used to drive the 3.5t then went upto the 7.5t tilt but gave it up was two many cowboys undercutting or folk wanting it cheaply. Good you’ve got a contract with dealers…I always assumed you done the hgv transporters 😅
If you’re ever near BCA Leeds again and need a brew I’m literally 10 minutes from there 😊 Really cool seeing this side of the car trade, I’ve always been curious how it all works.
I'm looking at setting up as a driver. I was looking at buying a beavertail transporter but wonder if this might be too restrictive and whether i should get a trailer too or just a pickup and trailer.
Enjoyed watching this dean, found it interesting. Didn’t realise you would need a tacho, or digi card as it is these days. Long days on your own can be hard at times, the radio always seems very repetitive after a while. Being a agricultural contractor my average winter day is around 12 hours but this time of year it’s up from anywhere between 14- 20 hours a day with no days off. Takes its toll, even more now I’ve an 8 month old at home that’s changing and growing so fast.
Always told to do at least 10 mins daily check before setting off (cross hammers) good job you havnt got a transport manager to answer to,doing only 5 mins ! Lol.i work 5 mins from bca leeds as a hgv delivery driver, bloody hate tachos, but love your channel
Yeah that would be advised on a 18T truck and above really.. I’ve only got a 3.5T van so there’s a lot less to check over. 5 mins is a long time checking over a van 🤣... thanks 🙏🏼
Hey, What car would you choose if you started towing with a trailer now? I've got 2005 x5, early Q7, or the 3 liter 2 gen Tuareg in mind. I'd appreciate if you would take a minute to think about it and answer. 😊 Love your channel ❤
Kindly advise whats needed to do such an operation. Tacho, operators licence, insurance and what else? do you knw any places one can lease a car transporter? thanks
You up in scotland often cause a look on bca alot for motors somthing there further away and price is decent but the guy a used to collect cars chucked it would meet him in glasgow or edingburgh to make it easyer around a week it took for delivery
Always makes me laugh when someone tells me how long it takes to get somewhere. I just say on the UK roads you might as well pluck a figure out of the air. Going from Ashford Kent to Worcester can take 3 hours or can take 5 hours another day.
Evening buddy, what insurances do you need to tow cars using your own truck? I'm looking at getting a little truck and moving cars for garages but unsure what insurances I'd need other than liability. Cheers
Not sure if you will see this but this goes to anyone who does this job..... Is there a lot of these jobs in 2023 and how would the work load be self employed Vs for a company. Reason I ask is I would like any driving job and picking up and delivering cars would be ideal for me. Great video and great insite as well cheers
Hi have you ever been stopped taken to a weigh bridge. I was an owner driver had a list of all the weigh bridges I went out of my way to avoid them. Good channel . Also if your over weight they won't let vehicle leave until l the excess weight has been removed worst nightmare?......
That sounds like a long old day to me. Interesting to watch but I bet it gets a bit tedious for you particularly when the traffic is manic - although probably less on the road during lockdown!
You need Category E on your driving licence. You'll also need a tachograph fitting to the vehicle which you'll need to use when towing and to do a DCPC course. If you're not going to use a trailer you don't need to do any of that but as Dean pointed out, you're only going to be able to carry up to 1.4 tonne vehicles legally and even my MK4 Ford Focus is almost that. Most car transporters you see like his running up and down the motorways are overloaded.
what rates dealers paying? I tried Movex ,and the dealer rates they pass on were rubbish about £1 to £1.20 a mile perhaps better to sub direct for dealer.
How much total weight would that combination go for? In sweden you aren't allowed to exceed 3.5 tons on a standard license, upgraded ones go for around 4 tons
What regs do you drive under? Do you have to follow British domestic rules meaning because you drive for over 4 hours a day you can only work or 11 hours including driving.
How can you carry that much weight on 3.5 ton truck with 2 cars and ramps how do you get away with the payload and what license do you need ??thanks big fan of your videos
Hi sir . I’ve just set a small business in Derbyshire recovering and delivering cars . Who do you use to keep busy as well as advertising and going to different dealerships I don’t know what else to do to get my name out .
I guess you have an o licence as you said it's over 3.5t van plated weight, what is your gross carrying capacity assuming you go over the 3.5t with the trailer
Do you need a hgv license to drive your transporter? Is there a taco meter in your transporter ? What speed are you allowed to go in the motorway toeing a trailer/not tiring a trailer? Why do you drive a fiat transporter, instead of say any other brand ?
Just rediscovered your channel after the first Octavia rebuild. I’m just curious as to how you managed to get into the car transport business & how you managed to acquire your truck/trailer setup? Here in Australia that same setup is about $100k +
Very surprised to see a heavy car on a trailer being pulled by an unloaded recovery truck. Brake hard and that has the potential to lift the rear axle of the truck.

Just rediscovered your channel after the first Octavia rebuild. I’m just curious as to how you managed to get into the car transport business & how you managed to acquire your truck/trailer setup? Here in Australia that same setup is about $100k +

Do.you still have the same driving times on the van's tacho as a lorry?
How do you do 12 hour days with a tachograph only allowing 9 hour driving?
I thought you said a couple of months ago you had got a driver for the transporter, and you were concentrating on the videos.
Do you get home then still have to put the bins out because the wife says “ that’s not her job”
