Well worth the gamble Dean Your parts alone Wheel £200 Door cards £150 Clocks £60 Info screen £200 Multimedia £180 Controls £30 Gloss black trims £200 Scrap wheels @£15each £60 Not to mention the gearbox, turbo, down pipe etc You could have ended up with a very cheap engine there bud👍🏼👍🏼 Nice to see behind the scenes in copart Dean as I didn’t know they did this.
Check the inlet manifold & water pumps for cracks/holes from the front impact. Possibly worth replacing the water pump whilst the engine is out anyways.
I don't think anyone could resurrect that car Dean, engine looks alright though, don't think I've ever seen a car in such a state, enjoyed the insight, roll on fitting to the S3.
Hey Dean some expensive parts you could of take out of it include, ecu, all the lock cylinders and ignition barrel (as you knew they get stolen a lot), a lot of the oem pipes, the original key if present. The Oem tinted windows, door handles in colour, they sell quite quickly because of breakins i imagine. I normally search the car parts on ebay which cost the most, so "mk7 golf R parts" then set pricing to highest to lowest and see which parts with the highest value I can take from the car. Good luck with the new engine and look forward to the new build.
Great video...Well done for maximising your profit by stripping everything out u needed...whatever u make on those parts you stripped out in this video it's all money in your pocket on top of the £300-500 u saved by buying the whole car r the engine...Makes great sense...Keep up the great work...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have seen other car repairers in the US buying crashed cars and front ends as a part source. Nice to see how that works in the UK. Cheers and hope the new engine works out for you too. Will be watching!
The cluster alone is 400 Euro. One Doorcard 120 Euro ish. Steering Wheel 200 Euro im sure you can make roughly 1000 Pounds from theese Parts so not to bad
Yeah I think so too, plus got the ancillary’s on the engine (turbos 300 on its own) gearbox, rear diff, front diff. I hope to make all my money back 👌🏼
Hope those shocks are OK. Looks like the car came down hard on those wheels. Great job with putting the effort in. Looks like it's going to be worth it 👍
I enjoyed it thoroughly, infact I bought a mk1 Golf in a similar state a few years back,I did very well for little money+a cracking set of Toyo rubber, wheels were smashed to pieces, but tyres did me well, engine and box were ok as was 3 struts and 3 Discs,I made good money on selling the parts
Same situation here in Australia. Usually it works out cheaper to buy the whole vehicle as an unrepairable writeoff from a salvage auction, than to buy the parts needed to replace the car you’re repairing, from an Australian wrecking (breaking) yard. Usually the cost of a bonnet, bumper & a few other parts from the overpriced wrecking yards, ends up being more expensive than buying the whole vehicle from the salvage auction. Unlike the UK, we get to take the whole vehicle.
The glass in the doors and rear windows looked ok on the video, but possibly not worth saving or the time it would take to get it out? Amazing they survived the crash!
Totally different than your usual fayre Dean, but really interesting. Really happy to see more vids like this in the future too. How pleasing for you, to be let loose with wire cutters...eh!! 🤣😂
Spare wheel was my first guess! Geez that car was a wreck, at least the engine looks in good nick and I think you done well getting all that you did! Nice video. 😊
Jeez I'm assuming the previous owner survived the crash, a true testament to vw's safety policy if so! Great video as always Dean, been watching since November and the only channel I'm subbed to that I eagerly check for new vids daily 😀
Very interesting walk around and makes perfect sense for the use you require. Fingers crossed on some quick flips to make some, if not all back to make this a no brainer assuming engine is all good - Even if it’s not 100%, it still makes for a very cheap engine! I’d be in the same boat as you were, umming and arring about which parts to take, which have real value and which will just sit around forever before eventually ending up in the skip. Love this additional angle of content dean - thanks
Very interesting. I was pleased to see a car this badly damaged being handled properly. It’s scary to even think that someone might consider putting something as bad as this back on the road.
Having watched a good number of collision investigation programs, the clocks are designed to freeze in a high impact environment to record the peramiters at the point of umpact. This is to aid in any investigations as to the circumstances of a collision. Not sure why the speed hasn't been saved, could be a compnent for how speed is measured, like a wheel speed sensor or something, was damaged prior to the impact that froze the clocks.
I thought you were mad to repair that M2 and then I saw this thumbnail and just thought what the F*** 😂😂 I'm glad cat B exists to be honest, you don't want that back on the road.
Well done engine looks ok and you should be able to sell some of the parts etc all the best 👍👍AND YES more on this type of thing and you have explained how breaker bid works thanks again
The Cat B options are interesting, I didn't know CoPart did that and it would make bidding on Cat B worth while in my opinion! Definitely worth it and to be honest, it would be something I would do 100%. Be good to keep an eye out for Cat B super cars to strip for parts to profit from. There's a video just in stripping a car! Once you're ready for it you could always get your breakers license sorted out, you'd just need to transport the chassis, and frame for scrap afterwards.
Jesus Dean, you scared me at first!! I was thinking he's gone mad! Thats un-salvagable! Then you told us it was for spares.. thank god! Nice Vid and something different. Will be interesting to see how you get on with the engine!
The music when you looked at it haha. Just seemed like the silliest soundtrack to a totally smashed up lump of metal. And yeah that looks like a horrific crash, hope all survived tbh
Removed some vauxhall chevette seats once in a scrapyard, in caistor lincolnshire, back in the 1990's, which were blood stained. Cleaned up perfect they did. Always thought did anybody die in them. Hope not.
Nice haul there fingers crossed with the engine for you. How much on top of the Hammer price is breakerbid4u if the car is at same facility ie no transportation needed
Interesting video Dean, if you actually sell the parts you salvaged the engine will owe you less than a grand but if you are anything like me you will never get round to selling them and they will just take up space for a long time, Looks a awful crash got a terrible feeling as you first walked us round the car,
Really interesting to watch. I didn’t know Cooart offered that. Very good way of buying parts. I’d be interested in seeing more of this type of stuff for sure
GREAT VIDEO! THANK YOU FOR CONSISTENTLY PUTTING OUT TOP QUALITY CONTENT. VERY INTERESTED! KEEP IT UP! ❤️👍 What is life without money? I think that's irrelevant. @Jerv Carter Investing in the financial markets works for me even if I don't do it alone. I have an expert helping me and his strategies have helped me avoid losses and increase my income.
Check the pokerman cards on the Real Deal this week, they fetched £2800 definitely worth more that Golf you bought 😳 but good luck mate and keep up the great content 👍
initially i thought you had been sniffing something, but it made more sense later in the upload. The extra's just bring the cost down a little also, EBAY frenzy required. I look forward to you starting the engine soon.
It looks like it was in a massive frontal collision, then a semi drove into it, then it flipped 157 times on a muddy field, then a tree fell on it and after all that someone came with a sledge hammer and meticulously hit every still undamaged section to comlete the look.
I would have taken the two front doors home, would’ve had windows, motors and the central locking bits that always fail on VW’s. And the two rear windows.
Good thing you did take that head unit. A friend of mine had his discover media radio suddenly quit on his 2015 MK7 pre-facelift and we had to buy a used one for 250€, so that's already 10% of what you paid for the car. But maybe the parts prices in the UK are lower, idk
CarVertical is 'savingsalvage' and here's the link:
www.carvertical.com/gb/landing/v3?a=Saving&b=38b26e3a&voucher=savingsalvage
The Pokemon cards were possibly the most valuable things in that car🤣
The shiny Charizard should pay for the next build!
That and the half tank super unleaded in
🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's best comment for sure 🤣🤣🤣
Bin car vertical man, every you tuber & his dog have been ramming it down our throats for a long long time.
Well worth the gamble Dean
Your parts alone
Wheel £200
Door cards £150
Clocks £60
Info screen £200
Multimedia £180
Controls £30
Gloss black trims £200
Scrap wheels @£15each £60
Not to mention the gearbox, turbo, down pipe etc
You could have ended up with a very cheap engine there bud👍🏼👍🏼
Nice to see behind the scenes in copart Dean as I didn’t know they did this.
exactly, great buy. Someone might sit on the parts for a while, but the bits and bobs that will bring the profit.
Nice video. I'd also take the window motors, coolant expansion tank and the switches for blinkers and wipers.
the rear wiper motor too. these are known to get stuck quite frequently (on my audio A3 too). also the same thing that was said at high peak autos.
Blinkers… old skool 🤙🏽 always good to hear words you haven’t heard for ages 🙂
To begin with I actually thought you were going to repair it 😂
😂
@@SavingSalvage you're good..... But not that good 😂 looking forward to the next vid, when's the TVR making another appearance?
I thought the same…!
Even goonsquad wouldn't repair that lmfao
I think we all thought that.. 🤔🤔😁
Nothing phases you, so admire your determination and with no one’s help. Keep going. 👍👍👍👍👍
Check the inlet manifold & water pumps for cracks/holes from the front impact. Possibly worth replacing the water pump whilst the engine is out anyways.
I nearly thought you had gone completely mad, hopefully the engine turns out to be a winner. That must have been some scary crash!
Great to see behind the scenes at places like this… gave more insight into how these places work. Keep the vids like this coming!!
First time I’ve been behind the scenes too and was quite surprised how organised and clean it was. Felt like a bca lot.
I don't think anyone could resurrect that car Dean, engine looks alright though, don't think I've ever seen a car in such a state, enjoyed the insight, roll on fitting to the S3.
The Golf R brakes might be a good upgrade for a lesser Golf, but they didn’t do any good for that driver 😂
Bloody brilliant. Great video. Keep ‘em coming.
Saving Salvage Best car rebuild on UA-cam !!!
Thanks mate!

thank you Dean, its always good to see different content like this,,👍👍

Love anything like this. Very interesting to see something out of the norm. Keep up the good work mate
The only panel that wasn't damaged was the fuel filler flap 😂
If the engine is a good 'un, you done well Dean. Surprised youleft the steering column behind. Yes, more vids like this please.
Super Video , allways good to save money. keep up the good work.
The cluster alone is 400 Euro. One Doorcard 120 Euro ish. Steering Wheel 200 Euro im sure you can make roughly 1000 Pounds from theese Parts so not to bad

@@SavingSalvage yeah so all in all if the Engine runs well a very good Deal
Deane well I hope the engine, will be asgood as you think !!! If so a good buy ... if not we'll?? . Let's hope its good ... good video ...
The clocks freeze in a accident only at a set speed it’s helps the police to know what speed the car was doing as well as storing it in the ecu
Hope those shocks are OK. Looks like the car came down hard on those wheels.
Great job with putting the effort in. Looks like it's going to be worth it 👍

Yes loved the different content and never knew that was something that could be done.defo never seen any other UA-cam channel doing this 👍👍👍👍
I would have cut every wiring plug I could have off it and taken the fuse box.
The wiring plugs are worth a surprising amount of money each 👍🏻
Same situation here in Australia. I’ve seen some write offs on my time & that is one of the worst… great video mate good luck with all the rebuilds 👍🏻
The weatherstrip door rubbers are good too
The glass in the doors and rear windows looked ok on the video, but possibly not worth saving or the time it would take to get it out? Amazing they survived the crash!
Totally different than your usual fayre Dean, but really interesting.

I would take airbag spiral cable of it, also any ECU-s i could find
Very interesting walk around and makes perfect sense for the use you require. The bravest man on UA-cam, fingers crossed for the engine, very informative video, thanks.
That's had some serious impact, amazing the doors still open
Very interesting. I was pleased to see a car this badly damaged being handled properly. It’s scary to even think that someone might consider putting something as bad as this back on the road.
That was a good deal, Well done mate!
Having watched a good number of collision investigation programs, the clocks are designed to freeze in a high impact environment to record the peramiters at the point of umpact. Great video thinking outside the box
That's been rolled a lot violently I just hope the occupants of the vehicle were Okay .
Brilliant video. I hope nobody did not get seriously injured.
This guy loves challenges boy wish u all da best on this build
If you get chance again, get a selection of connectors for future buids
I thought you were mad to repair that M2 and then I saw this thumbnail and just thought what the F*** 😂😂 I'm glad cat B exists to be honest, you don't want that back on the road.

There was at least 12 pence in front of the gearstick. Win.

There’s a bit more to a breakers licence than just asking for a licence !!!!!!!!!!!!
It's amazing how intact the cabin area is. 20years ago and the occupants would be dead or very seriously injured.

You should have took the lot and scrapped the metal and wheels every penny adds to the builds
I'm amazed the rear quarter glass was still intact considering the state of the body work.
And the doors! 🤯
Nice haul there fingers crossed with the engine for you.

Aww we were fortunate enough to have no fatalities from this incident!
That is a testament to how strong the golf is
Win Win. Engine likely fine. Make sure you get around to selling the spares, surely worth good money
Good find , may be if you had time pedals , Carpet , dashboard may be and coolant tank lol but that’s long aswell good selection
Really interesting to watch. I didn’t know Cooart offered that. Very good way of buying parts. I’d be interested in seeing more of this type of stuff for sure
You shouldn't cut the door harness.. windows electric motors...
The fork driver doing handstands when he realises you ain’t bothers to take the scrap alloys 😂😂😂😂
Been thinking of doing that with a transporter tbh
Great video, good content ! Still can't believe the state of that golf r 😱 definitely would like to see more videos like this !! Pukka 👌
Yep, show us trips like this, all good content
GREAT VIDEO! THANK YOU FOR CONSISTENTLY PUTTING OUT TOP QUALITY CONTENT. VERY INTERESTED! KEEP IT UP! ❤️👍

It was a cool video dude something very new and you got a major part for the s3 happy days
Check the pokerman cards on the Real Deal this week, they fetched £2800 definitely worth more that Golf you bought 😳 but good luck mate and keep up the great content 👍
Sell it to Arthur Tussik, he can cobble it back together! What a mess. Great video.
Never knew copart offered that service. Done rather well there. Great video. For a sec there I thought she was a repairer 😂
You might as well weigh the alloys in for scrap you'd probably get £80 /100 , it all counts
Really interesting video. You should post more content like this. Always fun to save parts that otherwise get destroyed.
Never knew that avenue existed. Well done you. 👍👍
initially i thought you had been sniffing something, but it made more sense later in the upload. The extra's just bring the cost down a little also, EBAY frenzy required. I look forward to you starting the engine soon.
Cool first time seeing such disassemble
unfortunately you can't bid on the Cat B's like a normal auction, you have to fill in a form before the auction with your highest bid.
Great video again. Fingers crossed for the engine.
Shows how solid the golf is - still got a good slam on that passenger door 😉
Sounds like a golf still! 😅
Rear wiper arm looks good
It looks like it was in a massive frontal collision, then a semi drove into it, then it flipped 157 times on a muddy field, then a tree fell on it and after all that someone came with a sledge hammer and meticulously hit every still undamaged section to comlete the look.
Sandy copart I presume, did the forklift driver cause all that damage 😂
Love your content but can you do something at the video edit to reduce video shaking ? or just buy a camera stabilizator ? thanks you
I’d hand the clocks up, it’s so rare to find a frozen in time clock set. Huge crash the g force has locked it all.
as involving it is you should have save the loom on the doors, those are defo a good seller
Can't believe they wrote that golf off !!, surely a quick t-cut & polish & should be fine 😂
Loved this one, definitely would like to see more videos like this
I would have taken the two front doors home, would’ve had windows, motors and the central locking bits that always fail on VW’s. And the two rear windows.
ECU! Don't forget the ECU! Oh it's knackered too, of course it is 🤣
Ive very enjoyed the video
It's like looking through the someone's attic !
Good thing you did take that head unit. A friend of mine had his discover media radio suddenly quit on his 2015 MK7 pre-facelift and we had to buy a used one for 250€, so that's already 10% of what you paid for the car. But maybe the parts prices in the UK are lower, idk
If you have the space to store the parts then its well worth it.
At least the airbags went off 🤣
Good job Golf R's aren't even remotely rare 😂
Great video, great content
the will be rare before long at the rate they are get written off and or stolen
