Great tutorial Ms. Yovette!! Yes! You’re right, learning from a L handed Teacher like yourself! Great to see you again! Best to All!! Love the Fan and Chip brushes, and the knife too! Have a rewarding sabbatical! Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!!
I really enjoyed this tutorial. I tend to prefer the fan brush, but it is nice to see what the trees look like with other brushes. Enjoy your time off and I will look forward to seeing your tutorials again!
The fan brush is definitely the most popular brush to use for making evergreen trees Verda, and it does a good job. I still love the filbert brush though. 💕
Aww, that is sweet of you to say Irene. I will miss everyone here too. That chip brush really does an amazing job on trees. Just takes a little practice. 🌹
Momma and I will miss you! Don't stay gone long! I prefer the philbert momma always goes for her fan brush😂.... This was a great reminder that there is so many beautiful ways to make trees, and a forest is a medley. Love and blessings, see you soon!
Both of those two brushes make good trees Sherina. I thought of a couple more brushes I could use to make evergreen trees after I had finished this video. 🤣 So maybe another video in the future. I will be popping in off and on, so you will see me again. 🤗❤️

Oh my, I bet it is beautiful where you live. 💕 I learn a lot from just looking at the different trees. And yes, they do provide food for our favorite little critters. Thank you Evelyn for watching and for your comment. 🤗🌹
I agree with you on the fan and the filbert brush Deanna, but that inexpensive little chip brush really does amazing things. It is just fun to experiment with all of the brushes. Thank you for your comment.
I love the way you explain everything. I learn a lot . I now subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing. I should have seen your channel earlier. I almost give up painting but when I watched your videos you inspired me a lot. God bless you.
Welcome to my channel Mikanta. I'm so happy my videos have helped you find a passion for painting again, it's a wonderful hobby to have! Thank you for subscribing! I hope you continue to learn a lot from me. 🌺
Hi Hazel, yes I have cut back a lot on doing videos, but I will be back off and on. Just really busy with fun new things in my life that are keeping me very busy. Thank you dear for touching bases. Wishing you a fabulous Holiday Season. 🌲🤗💕
Great video as always. One more good way to do these trees with a fan brush i s to make a "sweeping" motion when you have your straight line and it looks very streaky if youre going for a "far away" tree look

Thank you so much for finding my channel, and welcome to the world of painting! I will definitely try to do a video on how to paint redwood trees in the future.
Promise me you'll come back as soon as possible. 🥺 Oh Yovette, I can't tell you how I'm feeling right now, I'm afraid and worried. I missed watching last month video and I was waiting for this month so I decided to watch it in meanwhile. And here awaits a complete shock for me 😢 You are one of my favourite art teacher on UA-cam. I know there must be some reason. Your voice felt very emotional to me. I hope you are doing well. Wish you the best! They say, "Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering." A part of me will always be waiting for your return. And, a part of me will never be able to forget your artworks. @@PaintingWithYovette What a relief!!! Thank you for saying so! I'm really Sorry, I sounded dramatic and a little selfish for always wanting you to be here on UA-cam for me/us. 😅 Glad everything is alright. 😂🤗 I'm still a bit worried and praying... Dear God, In to your hand, I place my worries. Please keep my loved ones safe. Please watch over them always, and let good health, happiness, and your blessings be upon them. Amen
Yes you can Vicki! I have used liquid white as a base coat, and I have also use it with the water mixable oil paint. It just makes the cleaning process a little harder. You really have to clean the brushe good (maybe even three times) with soap and water. 💕 Excellent question!
Thank you so much - this is a very useful tutorial especially for me as a beginner. I loved the tree with fan brush. Filbert is my second preference. Also drawing with the chip brush is new to me and I like the tree painted with this brush upwards. I believe you need a bristle fan brush and not a soft fan brush? Just recently I bought a pack of fan brush (7 or 8 comes in a pack) that is very soft like a feather which may not be the best one to paint these trees? I am kind of new to your channel but love all of your tutorial which I hope I can watch and paint. I will miss your tutorials and hope to see new ones when you are back to your channel. Thank you very much for this tutorial.
I like the fan brush too Chelvis, but my favorite is definitely the filbert. I believe you use acrylics, and I think you can use either a soft or a firm fan brush for that kind of paint. With oil, one definitely needs a firmer brush. I am so happy to hear that you enjoy what I teach. Keep watching older videos, you will still learn. Hugs 💕🤗🌺
