Hey everyone I realized it might be a bit confusing that I call her by her last name first, in Korea it's customary and respectful to call people - especially people older than you by their last name first!
She seriously is an inspiration and a master class on how to be patient, creative, and precise in climbing. One day I'll have to find a way for you to meet her in person and watch her climb!
Kim Jain has been my favorite climber since I started watching comps. I remember jumping off my chair while I saw that figure 4 at 3:03. Love this series Albert, thanks for the great content!
I hope one day you get the chance to watch her in person, I was absolutely blown away by how much I learned watching her climb only 4 problems. Thanks for the comment and I'm going to keep it up!
Kim Jain got me into watching comps! I randomly came across a video a few weeks after I started climbing. For a few days I couldn't watch anyone else because I hated how no one could match her flawless static style! Luckily that has changed now and I enjoy watching competitions, although she's still one of my favorites. It's been about 4 months since I first started climbing now (half of that was quarantine...) and I'm actually developing a rather dynamic style.
Oh man. I get so emotional every time I watch videos of Kim Jain climbing. Such an inspiration! So glad you finally covered her in an episode of Beta Break :D
as a non-climber ... i loved her advice: when you hit a wall (in life), focusing on enjoying it ... persevere, breaking through it :-) really enjoyed how true masters make it loook sooo effortlessly simple & easy ! ! !
I am a short climber and my climbing improved when I started studying Jain Kim and some of the techniques she does. I went from trying to manhandle a route to slowing down and moving more precise.
You’ve already grown so much since I started watching, your content is some of the highest quality and most consistent I’ve seen on climbing. Keep it up dude you’re killin it
This work you are doing - watching and sorting thematically climbing vids - is something that was truly needed, and i was looking for it. So, thanks :)
Love the video dude, especially the little sneak peak of interview at the end! I think finding a way of just enjoying climbing for what it is regardless of performance is a good way of having a sustainable life climbing and ironically probably better for performance too.
Im quite certain that your videos are my favorite climbing videos, incredible. I find the editing and narrative helpful as well as the content itself. How inspiring!
Great video. Really appreciate how you cover such a range of qualities and how they link together in a comprehensive way. Thank you for your hard work, Albert!
Wow! I don’t know much about climbing but Jain Kim‘a control and strength is unbelievable. Really great video. Thanks for sharing! Subbed for more content!
Loving loving loving these vids man, especially in this hard period! Keep it up! Also I'm glad to see you feature one of my favorite climbers of all time - her strength and grace are legendary. She's awesome :)
I really like the way that you edit the video. I find it really informative and interesting to understand the advantages of shorter climbers. Keep it up!
We're going to get so strong when all this is over and everyone is going to be sending their hardest sends I'm sure of it. I'm sure your progress is going to be great!
I love these beta break videos, keep them coming! I'm 6'7", 195lbs with a 6'9" wingspan, so it's hard to find a beta that I'm not breaking. currently stuck at V6 problems, still
Albert! I've been watching these series not knowing that it was you! Glad to see you're doing well! Never got to see you over in colorado! - michael from summit!
It seems like the boxes only include holds that she's using (the one on the right should be a little smaller but I assume he kept it the same size to make a point)
@@jacopofruchter7140 the point that the boxes are the same size doesn't hold much if he makes them the same size without looking at the reality. that just means he drew 2 boxes of the same size :D Anyway, curious what Albert says.
Hey good question! So the flagged leg isn't in the box since it's more targeted where her center mass would be and since you can't see the other hold in the shot I had to make an approximate guess of how big the box would be if the hold wasn't wrapped around the wall!
Still the best female climber, such a shame the IFSC moved to the 6 min lead climb time. 8 min climbing routes suites Jain more. Still last year in Japan that win I was crying watching. So proud of her efforts and such a polite person, I was lucky to meet her in 2017 at a lead World Cup. So fluid, strong, precise and graceful climber.
Ah such a master class it is to watch her in person. I understand why the rule change happened, but man it was a fun time to watch when she was dominating on the 8min rule. She will be one of the G.O.A.T's that we'll talk about for generations for sure.
I don't know much about climbing, but there is something about Jain's style that makes it such a pleasure to watch. You don't need to understand climbing, to see that she is one of the best.
Heck yes! I'm sure as you progress more in your climbing journey you'll find unique ways to overcome and challenge and become a BEAST! Good luck and stay strong!
🐱👤 In climbing IMO shorter people have advantages due to the lower weight and the better ratio of strength/weight. Also the endurance is therefore better. Kim Jain is a good example! .
Really inspiring as i am just 5 feet 2 and all my peers love watching me as I aswell find cool ways to get to the too but this is so damn cool and I really wanna get so creative like those climbers are
Finally I can have some yo debate with friends shorter climbers still have there own way to compete talkers. By the way, I can't find the meaning of "keep crashing" in end of ur vids. May I ask?
Can ANYONE out there can tell me what pants she has on in the very beginning of the video? (Those awesome white and grey north face pants with the ankle cinch) Closest thing I could find was the Class V pants, but those aren't them.
I've talked to people there and they explained that it was a toe hook release move that was simultaneous, so although this wasn't an extreme beta break, the subtlety was there/ I tried to preface the video that it wasn't going to be a true beta break but more of an analysis!
Hey everyone I realized it might be a bit confusing that I call her by her last name first, in Korea it's customary and respectful to call people - especially people older than you by their last name first!
very respectful ok Albert
Are you calling Kim Jain old? :p
Hahaha no, but she's older than me!
what if you don't know how old the other person is?
@@asura8495 then you still do it anyways! For example a news reporter would still refer to a younger person last name first
*a pinch hold appears on a roof section*
everyone else: let's move past this quickly
Kim Jain: Ah, a good rest hold
She's a real climber. She climbs gracefully. I admire her.
감사합니다!
she is a real climber. She climbs buildings lol
She's an efficient, methodical MACHINE.
3:37 Kim Jain is a pro climber and a phantom troupe member. How inspiring.
I’m convinced bungee gum is the only way she’’s able to stay on the wall sometimes
Another incredible video, Albert! I've been following Jain Kim for 11 years and is constantly amazed by the way she climbs!
She seriously is an inspiration and a master class on how to be patient, creative, and precise in climbing. One day I'll have to find a way for you to meet her in person and watch her climb!
@@AlbertOkay can I join too? Haha :D
Even as a bloke her style of climbing has inspired me more than any other climber,
Finally a video for shorter climbers!

Quickly becoming one of my favourite climbing channels! Keep up the great work
I was just watching your other videos and I was like damn wish there was more beta break videos and as I finished one boom theres a new one
I gotchu!!
Agreed!
Oh man. I get so emotional every time I watch videos of Kim Jain climbing. Such an inspiration! So glad you finally covered her in an episode of Beta Break :D
I know right?!? She's so happy that it's contagious to anyone watching!
Love Kim jain, she is god of static.
She can hold onto anything forever! It's so amazing to watch her climb
It was still dynamic her last move onto the hold. Even thought it may look static she just had less distance to travel.
as a non-climber ... i loved her advice: when you hit a wall (in life), focusing on enjoying it ... persevere, breaking through it :-)
really enjoyed how true masters make it loook sooo effortlessly simple & easy ! ! !

I'm 8 months late but watching this as a smaller climber is not only inspirational as hell but fills me with joy to watch such amazing climbing!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
You know theyre good when they make you say “I could totally do that”
Such a well put together video with excellent storytelling of a phenomenal climber. Love it!
You honestly deserve so many more subscribers I always look forward to the next episode of this series
Haha workin on it James! But in the end to me it doesn't matter the sub count, I just love making these videos!
Albert Ok awesome to know keep up the good work
Absolutely love watching her climb, super graceful. Great video Albert, thank you for this.
Thanks Nick! If you ever get a chance to watch her in person it's really a master class on how to climb.
@@AlbertOkay That would be awesome!
Love the insight about all the small details. Your videos are true testaments to the art of climbing. Happily looking forward to your next upload!
Thanks Cameron! Hopefully I'll have a new video by the end of the weekend out...albeit not a beta break, but a video you'll enjoy regardless!
these kind of videos are the highlight of my quarantine days! Thank you for making them :)
Thanks Sara, I'm working on more videos to get us through the times!
You’ve already grown so much since I started watching, your content is some of the highest quality and most consistent I’ve seen on climbing. Keep it up dude you’re killin it
Thanks for being a part of the progress man! I'm working on improving the quality slowly too. Watching tutorials and courses on editing techniques!
One of my favorite climbing series on UA-cam.
keep up the amazing work
Thanks Alex! Going to keep it up for sure!
Albert Ok, number one in 2020!!! Sick voice, great analysis, great topics. Just wow

Im quite certain that your videos are my favorite climbing videos, incredible. I find the editing and narrative helpful as well as the content itself. How inspiring!
She's such a beast! Haven't seen her much in the competitive scene lately, but hope to see more of her after this whole pandemic blows over
I think she was injured
She did the full 2019 season last year, just didn't make as many finals as we're used to seeing her make. Still one of the greatest of all time!
@@AlbertOkay that's why I havent seen her! I usually only watch the finals. 🤣
As a 4’11 climber im super happy to have discovered her!
Great video. Really appreciate how you cover such a range of qualities and how they link together in a comprehensive way. Thank you for your hard work, Albert!
Thanks Soonho! Hope you're staying strong and getting ready to crush when this virus epidemic is over!

I really like the way that you edit the video. I find it really informative and interesting to understand the advantages of shorter climbers. Keep it up!
I am endlessly amazed by how she is able to just chill and rest on holds that look impossible. Also, the absolute elegance with which she climbs.
She's so good at holding those positions and being graceful!
New beta break episode! Ya love to see it. Keep grinding my guy! ❤️
I'm on it!!!!
Thanks for these videos in dark times
Training to be strong when this shit stops.
Tanks man

Man I found your channel a few days ago and instantly subscribed, your content is amazing. Keep crushing!
These videos are so well made and quality. Thanks
I'm not too familiar with climbing but 3:00 just unhinged my jaw, what a move!

The boxes at 5:00 seem pretty arbitrary.

I have never thought that sportive climbing had such a big audience. They don't show this in my country
Thanks, Albert!
the figure four had me goin 😳
Kim is so confident in her climbing ability she has a visible spider tattoo
She used a higher hold to step on, which allowed her to get in that position... She actually followed the intended beta :D
How do you pump these out so fast now? Are you a machine? Super nice!
Haha just stuck at home like everyone else so might as well make videos!
She makes it look easy
The red bull logo on her shoulder @ 3:30
curious
That pronunciation of Jain thooooooooo
LOL tbh, I was on the fence if I should pronounce her the true korean way or the western way.. Since I'm korean I opted the korean way haha
“Keep crushing” yeah you keep crushing bro lol 😏

She is so tiny, but she's a monster on the wall!
4:50 why are the subtitles saying Kim Jong un xD
love your vids
