@ Jelly Roll Club : Thanks for link and responding. I apologize for not phrasing my question more clearly. I was agreeing with others that a Thread Catcher would be lovely, but hoping it could also readily be folded for easy packing in a Traveling Sewing Kit - as in Sew Days, Retreats, etc. Perhaps a thread catcher that is foldable is not practical, design wise?! Not sure but would be useful indeed.
@@cynforrest If you make the body of the thread catcher without the quilting (just two layers of fabric) and you added the double binding to the top edge it would still be useful and more "foldable" - I hope this makes sense.
Yes, do a thread catcher. You are so fun to watch and an inspiration.

I am going to make this without the batting and use it as an applique on one of my quilts. Thanks for the idea.

During last two years of Covid, I been sewing a lot. I am working on your gromes quilt and now on your Sam and sue quilt. I am trying to use all my scraps. I need to visit Joanna fabric tomorrow because I need yellow and brown fabric for my pin cushion.
Thanks
I'm also going to make a red one with a black/white polka dot center. I'm going to make the petals 4.5 inches. I will post pictures when I'm done.
You are so good. I love watching you. Thank you. I am learning so much from you, God Bless you.
I'm so glad!
I'm going to use this as a gift to my family in Aug for a family reunion which we are holding in KS where I am from and the Sunflower is the state flower. This is so easy and can do it without a machine in the car for my travel trip. A thread catcher sounds good too. Thanks for all your ideas. I love them all. ***Karen A*** from Topeka, KS to Richmond, VA, 50 years ago. Bye for now! I'll be driving through KY next week end, I'll wave when I go by.
Sounds great. Enjoy at the fanily reunion!! Send pictures of the completed pin cushions.
Yes a thread catcher is a good idea, would enjoy that ,thank you for what you do
A threadcatcher would be a wonderful project to put your used thread scraps. Have you ever created a fabric pouch(bowl) for scissorsor or for your tiny templates? That would be a very cool project lesson. 😎
A matching thread catcher would be amazing😍😎😘

Yes, a thread catcher would be lovely. Especially if it could be folded somehow to facilitate packing up in a Travel Sewing Kit. Thanks
Here you go. This is the Thread catcher video. I made it without wires so you can fold it up and take it with you. ua-cam.com/video/aJL9JryYuoU/v-deo.html
@@JellyRollClub Cool. Thank you 🥰
That is adorable!! Thank you for the lesson and pattern.
Glad you like it
Thank you for this tutorial! I made one and added a leaf full of walnut shells for sharpening. It's not the best leaf shape since I was winging it but it's green so it reads "leaf" 😊
I love when quilters get creative with my free patterns.
Thank you for this tutorial. I like the idea of using the wool mat whilst placing and arranging the petals 🌻🌻
Those wool mats are so useful!
Love this pin cushion, thank you. 😊

Like always we learn so much from you, thank you

Where do you get your Pellon products because every time I try to find the # you have I can't find it. I have to buy online right now because of my back injury I can't go shopping. Thanks so much. Have a great day.

Yes, please make a thread catcher. Thank you for your time and effort to present us with wonderful lessons.
Will do!
I usually just add the 1/4" to the templet when I make one. In then I don't forget lol
Very nice, yes of course do a thread catcher to match. I’m doing all your quilts with the exception of the Gnomes had to put that on hold. Thanks so much. Sun Bonnet Sue already has an owner, my granddaughter 7 years old said she would help me if I gave it to her.
Gotta love those grandbabies.

Me too!!
Thank you very much! I think this sunflower is so pretty! I like your method of keeping all the petals on the thread until the end. I also like the way you made the petals!

Same - my quilting motto is tools should be easy and cheap :)

Thank you.
LOVE !! :)
Glad you like it.
Your machine looks pretty fancy, what if my machine doesn't have the blind hem stitch is there another name for it? I haven't even checked yet but would like to be prepared just in case! Can't wait to try out this cute flower pin cushion along with the thread catcher!! Thank you for your wonderful inspiration!
You can always use a regular zig-zag stitch if your machine does not have a blind hem stitch.
Would love to learn how to make a thread catcher
Coming soon!
Lose the stuffing, add a very low loft batting and make mug rugs or coasters
I’m adding a thread catcher to these but I love your suggestion of making coasters. ❤️❤️
When sewing the basting stitches around the flower center are you using a 1/4" seam or less?
I’m using a very scant 1/4”
My August project is your pin & catch. I just finished decorating a huge sweatshirt to coordinate w new sunflower print leggings. It was cool to find your vid. I found the catcher first so was happy to find the sunflower too. I'm a Floridian trapped from pandemic in PA so I need a LOT of cheerfulness around me.😁
Thanks for adding some.❤
P.S. just thinking, it might be an idea to use some type of vinyl as a liner to make it easier to get the thread bits out? Would that work?
You mean the plastic coated fabric? I think it's a great idea.
Yes to thread catcher pattern PLEASE
It's in the works
My printer isn't connecting. Please, what are the sizes of each circle?
4 inch for the larger circle and 3.5 inches for the smaller circle.
Thread catcher
What size circles??
Hi Tammy - the sizes are on the handout. It has the templates for the circles.
Foe some reason I can't download the file for these
Send me an email ivonne@jellyrollclub.com and I will send it to you. You will need Google Drive on a mobile device or Google Chrome/drive app on desktop.
