By far and away, the best SoR video on UA-cam. This group should all stick together.
We of the '90s salute you, great choice great cover.
My hat is off to the instructors who are guiding these young folks into music of the past, my past. Great job!
The. Kids. Are. Alright.
The harmony between Ava and Savanna is stellar, and, honestly, almost too melodic for a song with this tune's grunge pedigree. Those two team up again on another SoR AllStar video, contributing transcendent, show-stealing background vocals for a really, really nice version of "California Dreamin'". Well worth checking that one out, too.
And, like an earlier poster mentioned, both videos were recorded at Sunset Sound in LA. The production values are outstanding.
I agree - they have incredible voices, but it almost makes this song too pretty. Not a criticism of them at all.
After watching multiple school of rock videos. I am seeing the same students. I am proud to say these kids are professionals. Keep it up.
Videos like these remind you:
- Life goes on;
- The kids are alright!
Whomever is teaching bass to the women, they're just KILLIN it. Between this one and the Cheap Trick bass performance from a few months ago, it's almost a master class in how to properly Perform the bass and not just 'play' the bass. I have to imagine there's a teacher encouraging that. Keep it up!
Teaching bass to whomever. Teaching bass
Carol Kaye, perhaps.
Female bassists know how to get the job done and that's just the facts.
🙄
Wonderful to see and hear the youth of today covering this gem of a song with much attention to detail. Very glad there are still young people who aspire to be real musicians that learned an instrument. Great job!
Ty granpa
Absolutely
This is a wonder! Savanna, Nathan, Andrew, Bruno, Anna Grace, Devin! Oh yes!!!!
Difficult song to cover but these kids nailed it. Each and every one of them. Great work everybody.
What is there to not LOVE about the kids jamming. Lead vocal...excellent job. All the kids are jamming and I'm loving it.
Recently I started to watch School of Rock. I was impressed, but I keep seeing even better videos with the SoR covering songs from my youth and they do a fantastic job. I haven't heard this song in ages because local radio stations play the same stuff over, and over and over. Good to hear these lost classics being played again.
Well .. I would have to say that was really enjoyable to watch. The girls compliment each other really well, and the performance is really tight. I haven't heard that tune previously ..so that made it even more enjoyable ... and yes the drummer was super consistent. To all of you .. SALUTE and ROCK ON!!! -Dan-
I think the success of this track and California Dreamin' (same girl singers) is due in large part to the staff at Sunset Sound -- the mixes are exceptional. And also, the videos are exceptionally well produced.
One of my top 10 favorite 90s songs! Great cover!!!!
That was great! One of best S.o.R. clips I have seen. Not many kids would have a clue of The Breeders. Lead singer totally got the song. And so much pressure on the bass player on this one. Just an excellent job by all, no weaknesses. A+
I will admit, I have never heard this song before. So I watched this, went and watched the original and came back and watched this again. I would give you all an A+. Excellent.
If you ain't ever heard this then it's a D- for you.. sorry.. but just try harder. They do a great job, if you hear the breeders try this live it ain't great. One slight gripe for me and I'm sure my insignificant opinion will have zero impact on the amazing existence that I'm sure she will experience.. but the singer's voice is a bit too generic rock sounding. She's young.. hopefully she'll find her own voice as she goes.
You guys killed it! Made the Breeders proud.
I must be getting old because seeing the youth kick ass like this makes me want to cry and touches my heart 💜
I sitting here smiling ear to ear 😁
1000 musicians
I know your comment is old but, check out Josh Turners music too.
Great stuff, kids! I loved it. This was one of my favorite songs back when it came out when I was in high school. I'm sure that Kim Deal herself would be happy to hear you singing her song this well.
Great cover, great job band! Love Ava and Savanna!
I dig it.....just different enough from the original to feel new, and just close enough to feel familiar. People always told me that "anyone can do covers" and it didn't really count as music. I never bought into that idea. A lot of musicians start out experimenting with other people's sounds on their way to finding their own sound. I hope these kids ignore the haters and doubters, and just keep finding and refining their sound and style. They're already well on their way. Definitely a lot better than I was at their age. Much love and respect!
I'm the same. I was the vocalist/guitarist in my garage band and I always tried to put my own tone and style into the covers we did.
Imagine Black Sabbath played through a cheap 90's metal rig, with added pinch harmonics, wah-wah and Floyd Rose whammy action.
I recently saw an interview with Blu De Tiger where she mentioned that she got into music via a School of rock program in NYC. So great to see this path being made more accessible to young people!
Just so good. and the bassline in this song has always gotten me
The harmony gives me goose bumps! Spot on
So fantastic to see you appreciate this alternative rock classic! I saw the Breeders on "down the rabbit hole" festival 2018 in Holland. Brought back memories from when I was your age. Kim Deal is stil the coolest rock queen, together with PJ Harvey of course..
I just saw this on Facebook reupped and had to come find the original to lavish my praises! Honestly this is on par with the original if not BETTER. I appreciate the detail of capturing the same inflections on the words that was always my favorite thing about this song. ♥ I'm gonna go binge on these now, this was all my serotonin for the day. You guys are brilliant and I'm so thrilled classic gems are being made available in the best way possible for the younger set. The talent here is bonkers.
Better? She sounded constipated when trying to emulate Kims effortless screaming on the chorus
@@Leo-wk9lz... Do you feel good about yourself bullying kids? Ya big man you
@@Revidescent84 these people r older than me..................
Ava and Savanna voice are so sharp and clean. Savanna did a wounderful job here just like she did on California dreaming.
Ava who ?
@@chopperking007 williams
I bet Kim and Kelley are very pleased and proud with your performance, like we all
This is not a song you enter into lightly. But they pulled it off with flying colors.
Much respect.
Dang, I must have listened to this 50 plus times in the past month. Impressive cover, the sounds speak for themselves !
Phenomenal job, Ava. I loved it, very impressed!
3:09 my favorite part this song really bounces!
Yes!
Damn, . . .never ceases to amaze ! I would pay to see these performers perform !
I put this song on a mixed tape before these kids were born. Nice job kids. Great song.
Wow! This is just so well done on everyone's part. Oh my God! This is my first time seeing Ava and she sings this so freaking good. I have seen Savanna in a couple other videos and she has an amazing voice and style. Bass player and drummer are dead on. Guitars players so good. Well done everybody! Thank God for the School of Rock. Where were you in the 60s and early 70s when I was young, haha.
Isn't that Ava in "California Dreaming?"
@@dennisheaton4008 I have come to realize that in the last couple days that I've watched that great video.. So I take it back because apparently I have seen Ava before without realizing it. haha
@@dennisheaton4008 Yes, Ava and Savannah did background vocals in California Dreaming, another AMAZING cover.
WOW GREAT performance ... lil girl on the Bass Killed it also .
Saw Breeders a LOOOONG time ago and y'all got it. Rock on.
That voice is really soothing. Hope she makes some solid tracks some day!
She's already made at least one!
@@parsonj39 who is she, though? 🤷🏻♂️
Brillant, sharp and classy,,well done.. I would like to more singing from Savanna, she has an incredible voice.
I am not a musician, but this is amazing. The bass is on point, she sounds amazing. It's all there. Pretty damn good!
Jaw dropping. I am sure Kim, Kelly, Jim, and Josephine would be smiling ear to ear witnessing this.
This was awesome. Y’all NAILED it! 🏆🔥
I like all of the School of Rock performances, but I believe this is a cut above most of them. Great job.
VERY COOL... Love this song , great to see you all together. Will be watching more.

So good to see young people doing this, real music!!!!
I really loved the original song so l expected real good stuff here.
Mission accomplished big time !!
This is actually great because the original "Cannonball" video had really low volume, so this is much clearer and done very well.
AWESOME version of this not-often-covered song. Love it!
Awesome group of as far as I can tell. Top of your class. 2 thumbs ☝
Hell yeah! I remember listening to this on the radio. Pretty good cover Y'all!
Cannot wait. I hope this performance is as great as California Dreaming and I Want You To Want Me were. I cannot WAIT.
Certainly strong moments in that performance. Quite a musical challenge. Keep up the good work
There parents must be so proud, they have raised their kids right🙏❤️
Lead vocalist: outstanding. Harmonising: just perfect.

The drums were SO CLEAN. Kudoes to all of you.
So, so good. The band sounds great, and Ava and Savanna are awesome. I want to hear them sing all the songs. All of them.
Well done and 1 of the more difficult percussion fills I've seen in rock
Wow how did on earth this kid cover the breeders song, heaven for whom lead them to this respectable side of music
Nice job guys. I really didn’t think anyone could cover this song and do it justice. Bravo....
Really cool. I listen to this song when I was in my 20s, but that a Long way back. Kind regards from Argentina.

Outstanding!!!!
Top quality, boss cover, well done to all involved 😎🥁🎙🎸🎤🎸🎸✅♥️
I love the original, and this is solid !
I would be extremely proud to have any one of them be my grandkid... that's my idea of an Honor Student.
One of my favorite songs growing up and you all absolutely crushed it. A+++
This is the musical equivalent of eating warm cookies straight from the oven.
Perfect 🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏👏👏👏
Now you did it. I really want some home made warm chocolate chip cookies from the oven -- and I'm supposed to watch my food intake :)

I will never tire of that whistle.
Un cover de verdad. Cada nota hace honor al original. Gracias
Brilliant. What a voice she has. Love it.
Great tune! Great job! Guess these kids weren´t even born back then when this song was released. That´s why I love this rendition even more.
