Ms. Moorehead was such a versatile actress - very intelligent, very articulate, and very glamorous. She could play any kind of part. She is also very composed, very elegant and very gracious. She and Barry Nelson were very able competitors. They made the game interesting.
Agnes was such a wonderful dresser. Love that daffodil coloured dress and she's wearing her famous and fabulous diamond brooch. Somehow she's timeless.
I love how courtly and well mannered everyone was. The contestants as well as the celebrities are so gracious and polite. It's such a great example of how much American society has degenerated over the decades since the 1960s. People are just so vulgar and narcissistic these days.
Wow you're right! That makes game shows of today horrible. They tried remaking match-game pm. And the cast was simply trying to hard. They made silly jokes out of everything that was said. It was hard to watch.nothing like the original show with gene r
I grew up in the 1950's and 1960's, and enjoyed watching game shows such as Password in their original broadcast. It was education that was "a lot more enjoyable" than sitting in a school classrom!
People have gotten away from GOD and his teachings . The Bible says that this would happen..we taught the word back then and you can see the difference when you compare then and now
I adore watching Agnes Moorhead in anything including Password. Like other people have said, she is VERY classy and Barry Nelson....if this was today, American pickers would make a profit at his collection I gather, lol.
Agnes was brilliant in that Twight Zone episode where she did not speak one word for the entire program, just her acting skills alone. One of the best performances I've ever seen. Bewitched (nothing against the show) was far below her acting talents, but in earily 1960's t.v. "came in" and the movies "when out" (for awhile)
@@KeriRhodes-mn9te I don't think anyone else could have played Endora. Agnes Moorehead was the quintessential actor. She garnered four Academy Award nominations without getting one. She should have done the movie of "Sorry, Wrong Number", but the studio wanted a "name star" to play Leona.
@MetFan37 name star? LOL. Stanwyck tanked at the box office in it from what I heard. The director got what he deserved by not hiring Aggie. Aggie went to the studio / director, and lobbied for the part, but the idiot said, "sorry, I owe Barbara a movie." That role was written especially for Aggie by Louise Fletcher.. and she should of had the movie role to it! I know Aggie said "it is what is is" basically, but she was screwed out of a part. Miss you, Aggie!! 💜⚘️
Love watching these shows the only thing that irritates me is when Allen talks to the female contestants it's usually about their husbands not about themselves but I think that was the time we lived in.
Agnes Moorhead the second best reason to watch bewitched, not familiar with Barry Nelson but he seems like a 😎 guy I'd like to see his collection of Americana. It was fairly excruciating to watch them try to solve the word LOUD. Could you imagine the stress levels of these players if they were using the password plus format where they get just three or four opportunities to solve a clue
Barry Nelson the original screens(1954) first James Bond playing alongside Peter Lorre as the screens first incarnation of the villain Le Chiffre. Check it out. It's a hoot!!👌
'sss' was disallowed because it was contained in the pw hiss but they say Grandfather can be used for Grandmother, Why? it's got part of the word also. inconsistent.
@@Widda68 yes, but i dont think they have always been allowed. i recall the rules mainly from when i watched, as a kid. i am pretty sure you could not use proper names back then

Agnes is so lively and animated, with a fresh expression after each correct answer

I agree with both of you. In the decades since the 1960's, so many TV game shows only go for the "scream and hysteria" factors.

Agnes is so cute when she smiles and laughs
Agnes is cute anyway!!!! 💜
I loved when the man from milwaukee came on Agnes cried out"waukee"..so cute...just love her💗
Always willing to watch ANYTHING Agnes Moorehead was in!! One VERY talented, dignified and classy, smart woman!! 💜
What a pleasure to see one of the most interesting witches !
Such a pleasure to watch excellent players! Good clean entertainment.👏👍👍. Thanks for posting, blessings!🙏
Two great and classy celebrity players.

3:34...I'm with Agnes, I have to look up "Baker Scandal", no idea.
I think it had to do with Prez Johnson before he was VP
🦚 I smiled so big when Carol said she had gone the night before to see the play of Barry ! 🦜
When American manners were evident
You can kinda see a British like quality of how well they were. Almost regal .now shows like this can be silly

I heartely agree with you.. but Agnes did a marvelous job as Endora!! My main reason for watching Beeitched. 💜

Bob Mackin did become an author....and a journalist, etc., etc. It looks like he might still be alive today. :)
Exactly what I was looking for…grazie!
Carol did fabulously!
What a lovely lady Agnes was
Aggie, such class, beauty and faith!! They don't make them like you anymore! Miss you Aggie!! 💜⚘️

Womens Lib wasn’t for a few more years
Yes, it was pre-women’s liberation which wasn’t until the early 70s.
it's for the audiences sake as they filled out forms before hand.
I love that Alan knows the local theater group in Columbus, OH.
Check out all these great old password quiz shows from '67...with all the old tv stars. They're fantastic.
I was a teenager in the 60s. I remember wearing dresses that were basic variations of shifts... Very simple to make a straight shift with no waist.
Agnes looks so pretty in that bright color

5:38 Daddy Warbucks (Annie)
I wish someone would upload the videos of Agnes from the Dating Game. I can't find it on UA-cam.
Easy for you, AL, you have the answers.
3:05 The 'Baker' scandal? Couldn't find anything on it.
Check under "Bobby Baker". Some sort of political scandal involving bribery and Lyndon Johnson.
@@johnfd0210 - Yep, bribery, Senate votes, and interludes with women; standard Senate behavior stuff that got exposed. Thanks.
Bobby Baker/LBJ aide,tx 1950s I ?
Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker.. PTL scandal
Distilled maybe for vinegar
Excellent
Or cider
Or "Balsamic..."
It always pisses me off when, at the end, I don't pause before the obnoxious, moronic, modern commercials start.
Did they tape 5 in one day back then?
YES
This was a Tuesday.
I am sure the second player has nine great grandchildren this game looks fun to play.
No. He said that he had nine grandchildren- not great-grandchildren.
Great job on scandal
Claire...Bloom. Lucille Ball. Geraldine Page. Think of surnames.
Could have added particles to hint for dust
or said dirt
I would have said "dirt." Then I would have said "dry."

i seem to remember a rule in password that prevented one from using proper names as clues ?
Also hand gestures.which i caught a few people doing.yet no one said anything
In one episode they allowed (Gina) Lolabridgada) ?
NO. IN JUST THE FEW MINUTES,THESE PROPER NOUNS ARE USED: SOUSA, WINCHELL, ENGLISH, GUGGENHEIM ARE GIVEN.

WEE and the Royal Gret
Strident for loud
Or deafening
