My dad -- Lee Vines -- was the announcer for this show. Thanks for posting!
Very cool!
That's awesome!
Like his friendly voice!
He had a great voice!!
That's incredible!
I don't think any celebrity wanted a contestant to win more on these game shows than the beautiful Betty White! She's the definition of a beautiful soul!
In her autobiography, Betty said that when Allen gave his final farewell, her smile was frozen and tears were pouring down her cheeks.
I could see there was sadness on her face.
Frank Gifford was handsome and Betty White was beautiful. Plus, I like how much class everyone had. They weren't cursing and were respectful to each other. This was DEFINITELY a different ( and better) time!
Listen to Betty now, on celebrity roasts, where the F bomb is frequent, and a pose of ol' Betty giving the devil curse sign with her hand. Different industry, agenda, or individual? Hmmmm
@@anothercomment3451 Probably different industry. You've seen how Hollywood has changed over the years.
@@tj921able Same ones who created it manipulate all things. The Agenda changes, and the puppet enterTrainers do as they are told. They are not whom or what they Appear to be. Actors for life. Sold souls.
It was especially better for men!
I think things were the same celebrities did things more privately because they had to keep up a certain image. Women always were dressed nice, faces had make up and hair was always in place. Also it wasn't all this social media you're able to find out people's personal information nowadays!!
I watched 'Password' religiously as an adolescent in the 60s and it definitely helped my vocabulary. Betty is with Alan now. RIP Betty White.
🕊 I was surprised she didn’t make it to her 100th birthday party ! Blessings to you for a lovely New Year. 🦋
@@marycook1644 , thank you. Happy 2022 to you!
@@lindam.6782 Enjoy it 🎂🍭🍧 Linda !!
Alan was the love of Betty’s life. The story of how they met and how he pursued her is so cute. She never remarried after Alan passed.
When he passed away she was in her late 50s, age 59 not sure why she would want to remarry or feel any need to.
@@m.e.d.799750 year old here can still want company and physical intimacy
@@m.e.d.7997what a silly thing to say. You must be quite young. People have love to give all of their lives. Age has nothing to do with it. I hope you realize that🥰
@@cherryvaleleatherock6900 People choose not to remarry from young ages to older. She was almost 60 and never wanted to marry after Allen. He was the one and the love of her life. People need to respect that and not think it is odd. Not everyone needs to be married just to be married or to live a full happy life.
@@m.e.d.7997 Thank you. I knew Alan was the love of Betty's life, and I understand why she didn't remarry. I experienced the same. I was responding to what seemed like a ridiculous statement, on it's face, of ". . . she was 50+ and why would she want to marry again?" I just thought that a general statement like that was ignorant and disrespectful. Something a young, superficial person would say, not understanding the true value of life, and of love.🙂
The way Betty communicates with her partners in the show is really sweet:)
Betty White was about 45 years old here but doesn't look it. She was such a timeless, classic beauty. 🙏💗
She was as young as me.
She looks no older than 30
I love the colour of her hair here. It's such a rich looking shade of auburn.
lol what? She is absolutely pretty but also easily looks to be in her mid-40s here.
Wrong this was in 1967
So sweet how Betty keeps looking at her husband so fondly after several years of marriage. Now that’s true love 💜
I thought the same when I saw a video from 1979. She looks so adoringly.
This was only 5 years married
Why was Nancy Reagan so ridiculed for doing the same thing for her husband? But, I agree that Betty did truly love looking at her husband and visa versa, for sure.....great chemistry those two!
@@karenenderle532 Because Nancy Reagan's husband ran for President 4:00 ⬅️
September 15, 1967 - it was a Friday and the very day we moved into the house where I grew up and spent the happiest years of my life ☺
When the CBS version of Password was cancelled, a large part of intelligent game shows died. I love playing along.
The Dick Clark era Pyramid was an intelligent one, and came later
@@joshh4838 I loved the Pyramid and I am sure Betty did too. She was excellent on that show.
I had the pleasure of meeting Betty White when she was doing summer stock theatre in Ohio many years ago. She was so sweet and polite. I got her autograph. A really classy lady!
Lucky you!
Random guess here, but was it on a riverboat, the Betsy Thacker?
Kenley Players?
Betty White is so underrated. At this time she was beautiful, adorable, savvy, loving, kind, respectful, intelligent and personable. It’s really challenging to be all those things at once. Geez!💜
She was all those things every year of her life not just at this time on the show. She was even beautiful inside and out 17 days from her 100th bday.
And yet, she was that way naturally... That was just HER. So for HER, it wasn't challenging in the slightest.
She was all those wonderful qualities all her many years!
When was Betty White ever underrated...and by whom??
Betty had a New Years Eve date in heaven with the love of her life 💗🙏 RIP Betty & Allan
🎯 that's perfect 🥂
I am sure she was dancing with Allen at midnight
Oh Sonya, what a lovely thought, and she wanted to be with him to celebrate her 100th too....what a classy and adorable couple, I admired them as a young adult....Password help me with my vocabulary and Allen's explaining certain words and talking about English(he was a school teacher for a while)helped me a great deal....and I thought he was so cute!
Betty White is such a gem of a person, and she has a razor sharp mind.
She is the only surviving cast member of the Mary Tyler Moore show and the Golden girls. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Sheik is to me prophylactic and contraceptive.
hahahahaah
The end of a fabulous run. Betty’s face shows her sadness that this was the final episode of the CBS run. While it would return on ABC a few years later and from Los Angeles, they didn’t know it then. Allen Ludden’s class and charm, Betty’s talent and grace and Lee’s brilliant skill as announcer were an unbeatable combination. Now they are all together and I hope, playing Password in the heavens.
Wasn't "Password" briefly in first run syndication around 1968 or 1969?
@@altfactor Those were reruns of the later CBS episodes.
It feels like they are still here when I watch these. Life goes by so fast
After watching a few players I think Betty White was the best...she gives the best words and is so quick. Also charming and lovely to her partners. It's so nice to see how gentlemanly the men are...always rising for the ladies. As a person from traditional Eastern country where these graces are still practiced, it is nice to still see them in old Western society (sadly rarer to see in today's west)
RIP Betty. You and Allen are in heaven.
Betty white and allen ludden their love story is a story that will go down in history.
-Merle was adorable and I love how she styled her hair.
-Frank was very attractive
-Betty and Allen were delectable. I eat up how in love and cute they are
You don’t know HOW MUCH these retro uploads have benefited me. They have gotten me through some TOUGH times!! If you have ANY other uploads of the original series from the Nighttime or daily series, please keep them coming. Thank you and God bless!
Ditto! 👊😊👊
So fitting that the last one is with Betty. Love it when she's on!
1
What? he didn't act like this was the last show
This was way before my time, but I can't explain how much I enjoy watching these shows, beats the crap out of the garbage we have now.
I watch these shows and just makes me wonder where are the players now... are they still alive or moved on to a better never ending show.
The lady from Honolulu is so pretty. Her hair is everything
Betty was obviously right that playing games is good for your brain. It must be good for longevity too.
She loves crosswords too, at 99 she is still as sharp as ever so her mental gymnastics over decades evidently has served Betty White well.
Alan says at the end that the weekend is always more worthwhile if you pause to worship with your family.🙏
I don’t think that I have ever seen a young Betty before. Not in color anyway. She always has been beautiful that’s for sure.💖
OMG! Betty is 45 HERE?!?!
She looks STUNNING 🤩
Frank Gifford was handsome until the day he passed. And his son is just as handsome!
No Frank was better looking.
Betty was very good. After watching several of these, her IQ must have been off the charts. Very witty woman. RIH Betty with your awesome husband, Allen Ludden.
Dsmn near perfect lady. Allen got very lucky.
Betty's exuberant personality lit up the stage with her presence, she was an incredible joy to watch her play.
Her comment about game shows are a great place to meet a husband deeply touched me because that's where she met the love of her life Allen who were married for eighteen years of bliss! Two incredible beautiful people! Enjoyed this immensely, Frank Gifford a magnificent NFL legend! ♥️
I was pleasantly surprised how well Gifford played the game,,,,,so many people think athletes are stupid....he showed here and as a broadcaster that he was very far from that!
I so enjoy watching these old games! Betty White is one sweet lady and she’s a smart cookie! She’ll be missed ! ♥️
Betty white was 45 years old in 1967)
She was beautiful.
This world seems so much glummy now that Betty isn't with us.
RIP darling Betty White (1922-2021)
The Queen of Game shows and sitcoms and definitely the Queen of Password games.
🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👱♀️👱♀️👱♀️👡❤❤❤❤👒👒👒
What a gifted individual.
I love seeing her natural hair color. She was such a knock out. Just gorgeous. That smile and dimples. 😍🥰I miss her so much.🥺 🕊🙏🏽💔
Betty is the Greatest.
Alan was Wonderful. RIP
how could they cancel this show? this was the last episode....best game show in history !
Blame Fred Silverman, the executive in charge of CBS' daytime schedules. He wanted another "soap opera" in its place for the fall of '67.
I forgot how fun this game was and I am so glad I saw this tonight. Sure am gonna miss Betty White!
I JUST ADORE BETTY WHITE🥰❤
Betty white will be 100 years of age on January 17, 2022. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Watching this has made me smile. I really needed that. RIP Betty White.
This show made me so happy. A different time.
R. I. P. Betty White
(1922-2021)
...Thank You For Being A Friend!
I like how Alan was glad that Frank Gifford couldn't guess Betty's clues about the word nibble.
Yeah that was really a great moment....he was taken aback by Betty with her "ear" clue and her theatrics....but I am sure he was used to that flirtative side of her...he probably thoroughly enjoyed it!
🐕🦺 Prayers and luv to Betty’s family and fans. So sad to see the news of her going to the Lord. And to join Allen. 🐩 From California. 🦜
I love what Allen Ludden says at the very end. You never hear that anymore!
Can you imagine $350 in 1967? Worth over $3300 today.
I looked it up, too. Pretty wild. I also learned Betty White was a cutie back in the day!✌️
So cute how excited Betty gets
Betty White's recent passing brought me here
My god Betty in this episode is spicccy and I love it. RIP
I loved this show. I got the game for Christmas one year, loved playing. :)
Thanks for staying with us for so long, Ms. White
Wow! Frank Gifford was 🔥!
The lovely Betty White is so competitive. I love it.
Frank looks awesome! "Are you a working girl Merle?"- that could go in more than one direction.
It sounded like he was asking her if she was a hooker. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
😁 yes, words can shift in meaning and if you time travel, that could get you in trouble!
Wow. I've never seen a young Frank Gifford. He was hot.
Who cares what people look like? Are you that shallow?
@@timlynch57101- Most people care. Ray Charles even used to ask if a woman he was interested in was attractive. 2-No. It's not shallow to notice attractiveness and beauty in another person. We are visually stimulated by nature. It's only shallow if you care about nothing else.
@@timlynch5710 you sound like the type of guy who would take a compliment really well.
CODY LOOKED JUST LIKE HIM. KLG's son.
Dandy Don Meredith was Franks Partner on MNF.
It's so fun to see how happy Betty is and and she plays well. What a beautiful soul. Miss you already. rest in peace Betty🥀
My Mother, who was born in 1917 would sing "The Sheik of Araby" with the "side lyrics" as Allan put it:
I'm the Sheik of Araby
(without pants without pants)
Your love belongs to me
(without pants without pants)
At night, when you're asleep
(without pants without pants)
Into your room I will creep
(without pants without pants)
Lol..omg I vaguely remember hearing that!
Slightly baudy.
Betty was a doll but let’s remember that classically handsome, Frank Gifford!
Saw this episode on Hulu last night. Was blown away. What a talented lady.
one of the best episodes of PASSWORD!!
RIP Betty Marion White Ludden (1922-2021)
Now days clues on "Chill" would be relax !
Wow she was an attractive woman, she looks so young here. Ive never seen this before , thx for posting.
For collect I’d have used Accumulate.
Frank Gifford was very good looking
Watchin Frank Gifford on Monday Night Football man U grew old gracefully!!! This is soooooo amazing this is Frank Gifford from back in the day 😲WOW!!!! Fine lookin then & fine lookin when U left us. Monday Night Football ain't the same w/o U. What a great memory pleaser & always B remembered ❤
I only knew him as an old guy, but DAMN! he was so cute (who knew?) as a young man.
@@shmuli9 Hi 2 days ago I was watching Password on the game show network called Buzzr. I have Xfinity. they show a lot of game shows from waaaaay back in the day 😂
@@kathleenparker8448 Do you remember the TV game show in the early 1970s called "The Money Maze"?
@@shmuli9 Yes I do 😀
@@kathleenparker8448 And the "flip" hairdo on Betty White. I used to try getting my sister to do one with toilet paper inserts. (I suppose I wanted my sister to look like Marlo Thomas .)
It would be exactly two years and 11 days until Betty White was involved in another Goodson-Todman game show finale: Match Game '69.
I’m going to be that person and just say - watching TV games shows makes the mind as active as typing comments on YT.
Rest in peace Betty alongside Allen for eternity 😞
Betty was such a great player
Frank Gifford would have made a good looking actor & I could imagine him playing Superman.
Betty White was a real jewel on the tv game shows. Frank Gifford was not only a great broadcaster on Monday night football ( on ABC in the 1970's, 80's, and 90's: plus in the early 2000's), but also a wonderful game show player. I miss them both.
I live in Australia and we never got to see this show and I love this and no adds
..i LOVE these....I remember watching as a kid. Just seeing all the old stars. Very nostalgic.❤️
❤ Betty white gorgeous & brilliant comedian
First time seeing this show! So fun!
I know we’re focusing mostly on Betty, but that stewardess is pretty damn fine!
Great memories loved this show!
Frank Gifford was a total chad. I only know him as an old man.
Love Betty. She's so awesome
her presence just radiates joy!
Love Password. Betty was beautiful and Frank a stud.
This aired on my fifth birthday!!!
Betty loved her husband so much..she never married again because she basically said you can't go higher than him Because he was the best. He is the game show host you see here.
I watched this game back then, when I was a child. Usually watched it in summers, otherwise I was in school. I liked the deep voice that announced each word. The 1980s version did not have that voice.
She is truly a national treasure.
Frank Gifford was such a handsome guy.
My mother watched the show daily to help her learn English.
Allen was incorrect when he said that the word "transparent" is "'precisely what opaque means". Transparent is the opposite of what opaque means. Unusual for Allen to make a mistake.
I’m pretty sure he was being ironic. It was a comment on how Betty White managed to have her partner get the right answer on the first clue by using its antonym.
@@jeff__w No it was obviously a mistake or a mis-speak.
Betty White was a ray of sunshine that brightened all our lives
This is the day I was born!
Betty crushed it!!
Farewell is an appropriate Password to use since it was the series finalie. It's too bad we can't see the very first episode of Password from 1961. If we want to see daytime Password in it's black & white form including the debut episode, it's best to contact WCBS Ch. 2 New York so we can see them on Buzzr.
RIP Betty White. The First Lady Of Password.
Hail and Farewell, those moments are priceless!
Betty was such a sweetheart.
Nice to see Betty this young ... 😍
💓 her dimples. 😊
All three celebrities have passed. God bless the contestants too.
Love this show watched as a child in early 60 s
Ok...hold up a second.
At 4:39, look. Uh, what was that? Now keep watching to see the most uncomfortable Frank and Alan try to act normal after that little move by Betty. Whaaaaaat?
Too funny, folks. I think most all have cocktails when they rehearse.
Betty is stunning
