I remember watching Red Buttons in the 1972 movie "The Poseidon Adventure." The ship was named "The Poseidon" after the Greek god of the sea.

Jane Powell is stone cold beautiful. I've seen a color photo of Jane at the opening day of Disneyland in 1958 sitting in front of the castle and she is breathtaking. Loved her in Athena

11:24 Red Buttons mentions Paul Whiteman, making it about the 6th or 7th time I've heard Whiteman's name mentioned randomly scanning these programs. Whiteman had a long career, but then so did many others...amazing that he would be on the tip of the tongue for so many different visitors to this program at least 10 of 15 years past his peak popularity. Good for him.

@@donaldleroy6502 It's hard to recall any actress of Jane's era who didn't have blue eyes. Only Oliva de Havilland and Judy Garland come to mind. My mind, anyway.

Teens looked older then. That high school student looked about 30. I like how Jane mentioned Red Skelton, and Red Buttons asked, "Red who?" Jane took it completely seriously.

The mention of the movie, "Gay Purr-ee" sent me on a brief Google search and answered a lot of questions for me. I remember seeing Disney's "The Aristocats" one time at the drive-in with my family when I was a tot, but after having watched the VHS release of the movie, I always felt that there was a lot missing. Now it all falls together. My parents took us to a double-feature!

Although you would've had a snicker (or outright laugh) from the audience at this word, however, it is a technical word for (and in fact an EXACT synonym for) chew ... and that would be "Masticate." It certainly wouldn't be appropriate for the next word to define to be "Lubricate." :-)
