  • Extended arm trap grip.
From lapel trap grip if uki ever pushes you away with his lapel grip. Extend your own arm to make a frame while turning and putting some pressure on the arm with your chest. Keeping the wrist grip right against your chest
If leg is back do a big back step for uki otoshi
    I
If leg is near use O soto or tai otoshi style attacks.
If the head is bent low in the other direction.
either reach inside with your wrist grip and take the head
or use release your wrist grip and go for an underhook or directly grab the shoulder.
From the underhook pull both arms inwards towards your body while keeping tall and use your chest to push forward and rotate ukis shoulders, before finishing the throw.

Very simple and effective! I'm trying this tomorrow.

Would love to hear how it goes.
If it works that’s great if not it’s an opportunity to see how to adjust to be able to finish.
Or learn a different kind of defensive reaction and appropriate response.

@@Judo_Jon Surely! I'll report tomorrow. I'm a bjj guy, I had great success in competitions and in sparrings by learning and using judo techniques found on youtube. The one I had most success was the Kesa-Gatame position, that pin caught all my bjj classmates and competition opponents offguard and got me some easy submissions. Great stuff. Subbed.

Kessa gatami is my favorite ground positions. I like the head grab position instead of the standard underhook position. I can often go directly from a head grab throw directly into this position on the ground. I’ll do a video about that and how I work around various defenses. When I find the time.
