One of the things I’ve always thought that it was weird that there is three French civs yet I personally think that the original is still the best… maybe you could do a video comparing all three are something like that
Another tip for multiplayer (not just byzantium, but also works on it): pre build heavy chariots. Not a huge cs increase, but you can upgrad them faster than building units. Also make sure nobody snipes crusade with an early religion

One thing he didn't emphasize is the hippodrome units are completely free. Playing layer on means all your late game tanks are free, who needs oil anyway. Big multiplayer games get really fun when your modern armor is ignoring walls and defenses lol.
@Chaya Olivier you only get the one from each building. So 1 for hippo, 1 from stadium, and one from the other building type. Then either keep upgrading them, (they stay free) or just build them when you have access to tanks etc. They just pop into existence.
Despite all your comments, I still stand that byzantium > babylon. Not rng reliant and can go with normal build paths, so they have a better balanced empire
You should do a guide for sumeria with foreign ministry and a military alliance you can get double half off levies with +14 combat strength . Levies end up costing hardly anything at all after being cut in half twice

I like the fact they ignore walls with cavalry so keep that and the tagma BUT remove the free cavalry units from each entertainment complex + buildings and make it so you only get 1 for each entertainment complex. Finally remove the +3 extra amenities from the hippodrome, make it only give +2 total. From a gameplay perspective they are still strong but a LOT less overbearing

Another tip for byzantium: get tithe early, right after crusade. Helps you keep your gold up

Something you didnt mention: grand masters chappel. Why not more tagmas? Two per city isnt enough

It’s arguably better than Hungary tbh but I still think Hungary is better for the extra envoys and movement speed
Another tip: since you rush with culture not science, get printing with the science you get.

Pitfall to avoid - Don't ignore Missionaries/apostles.. if your opponent doesn't have units , you need religious units to spread religion
