You just need one unit and you won because your city is unkillable and you OS everything. Not to mention selling those ressources to the artificial stupid and buy units
I prefer Deity as I find the early game to be instructive, as that’s the most important part of the game. Once you snowball it doesn’t matter whether you’re on Prince or Deity the game’s already over.

At least, in one of the summer updates, Firaxis doubled the Cliffs of Dover appeal to improve their seaside resort adjacency and National Park potential. (But not adding 2 food or any production on the cliff tiles was a mistake IMO)
@@FledgePaddock In my opinion, the Cliffs tiles should provide yields like normal tiles and be improvable like normal tiles (maybe through a mechanic that would allow for in between tile wonders, such as improvable cliff and river wonders).
My first game w/ Byzantium, I managed to get Fez on board...which made the snowball even snowballier. Kill unit: get combat power & science. Capture city: get combat power.... it was pretty insane.
so basically the way to kneecap byzantium is to somehow deny them a religion, or play against Yogscast Duncan who would forgo getting a religion as Byzantium

Entering a golden age with extra points increases citizens' Loyalty pressure on nearby civs. That is a part of new "Dramatic ages" mode I believe. That is why you seen them struggling
Funny thing is, I've been thinking for a while that I'd like to see just how fast Potato could crush the Prince AI, so this game, although perhaps not what you originally wanted, actually fulfilled that wish. Great vid as always!

This Civ looks fun, but damn! That power creep is real. I don't mind super powered civs, but it'd be cool if they'd update some of the now-weaker, old civs at some point! Still messing with Gaul, and then I'll play a Byz. game. Oh, and 'grats on the sponsorship Potato!

Fun fact, Byzantium is also one of the best naval civs despite having no bonus to naval production or naval unit-specific buffs. Just on the fact that they have a quadrireme replacement with 2 range and +10 damage to all units which still receives the bonuses from taxis, meaning they can actually siege cities properly way earlier than any other civ. The closest thing to them is Indonesia with the jongs in the medieval era.
To put it into perspective, Victoria gets a free boat when she builds a Royal Navy Dockyard, but not for every building in there, and they still require upkeep.

I prefer Deity as I find the early game to be instructive, as that’s the most important part of the game.

Nope. The AIs were all in dark ages. Dramatic ages causes cities to rebel if you go into a dark age. No further qualifiers. End of statement.
