- Written by Jimmy Driftwood sometime in late 1958 and released in '59. The covers I've been aware of are Eddy Arnold, Doc Watson, and Johnny Cash. As far as my little version here, I was channeling my Grandpa Besher and just thinking of a few old rides. :)
Awesome Mel you killed it! I love listening to folks like you just playing and singing.
Wow! Great job Mel! Good picking and singing.. keep ‘em coming, thanks
"BRAVO" Well done sir...
That was great. Thank you. My goal is to be able to play that.
Brother...I love that song...and, I really love your version of it! Well played and you made it fun! I am battling some pretty serious insomnia (a war tax on us combat veterans) and it sure helped raise my spirits on a long/cold night. Appreciate you and Emery!
I've been battling that old insomnia too for a while now. I sure feel for you. Thankful my little song could lift your spirits for a minute or two. Hope to talk again soon. Thank you.
@@MelBesher I hate to hear you wrestle with insomnia as well! It’s like so many things in life as we get older - you don’t appreciate it until it is not there any longer, like good sleep. I hope we can both find some relief from it. I tell my wife to break out a ball peen hammer and whack me in the head when it’s really bad. ;-)
I just try to get what I can accomplished at night. Watch shows, don't disturb anyone., but yes, it can become a little maddening at times. Not gonna suggest the hammer. :)@@rangerk9
Thank you sir for that wonderful song. God bless you!
