Permit me to recommend the Friar's Club Roasts from the 1970s, (or 1790s I can't remember) Dean Martin was the host and the dais was studded with the entire Hollywood A-List of the day. One of the best was the Roast of Bette Davis, but they are all hilarious.
The whole show would've been in highlights reel.
