As a much younger man I had a job loading up delivery trucks for a RPS (now part of FedEx Ground) in a moderately rough area of Baltimore. The shift started at 1am and was made up of mostly young black men. It shocked me to see that, prior to starting the shift, the break room was filled and everyone was quietly watching The Golden Girls. The show was loved by everyone in there. No one dared change the channel or talk loud enough to inhibit hearing the comedy. Bea and the rest of the cast could make anyone from any background laugh and enjoy a few minutes together. Every night the show aired, it was on that TV.

On Gabrielle Union’s Hot Ones interview, she talked about how when she was shooting a movie with DMX, she would collect him from his trailer because he had his large dogs with him and most of the crew were scared of them but the dogs loved Gabrielle. One day she went over to tell him he was needed on set, and DMX was watching The Golden Girls and refused to leave his trailer until it finished. She did a hilarious impression of him too, barking “come in! Watch some Golden Girls! This shit’s funny!” I can picture him saying that 😂

He could take the greatest parts of each roast and do an introduction where he gives a short summary of who some of these people were since younger people might not be familiar with who they were. Conan O'Brien, the consummate writers' room nerd, managed through sheer force of intellect (and hard work) to become by far the closest direct heir to Carson, the Midwestern farm boy turned cool '60s Hollywood ambassador to middle America who could not be more different a man from Conan. Certainly he is head and shoulders above the crop of unfunny sad sacks who have represented the declining late-night talk medium this decade.
But as great a late-night host as Conan was, he's an even better podcaster. The medium really suits him and you can tell he really enjoys it. I myself only had the shortest and humblest foray into show business but I love these "shop talk" discussions among entertainers. Jeff seems to be really talented, hard working, interesting, and well liked, and shares Conan's real passion and excitement for comedy even after all these years and success. I loved this story about the great legendary Ms. Arthur and am so glad it was as cool behind the scenes as it looked on screen! RIP Sgt. Bernice Frankel, USMC

He’s famous for the Roast’s but his overall delivery is genius. As evident by the “best lay ever” comment. True comedians can amp up the comedy and that’s what he does during his standup. @@DanFlashes99 You’re right that her father later claimed that Jessica forced him to lie to Vulture for fear of alienation. But he’s a POS and it’s pretty clear he had an incentive for taking Jeff Ross’s side.
When Jessica made her allegations, her father told Vulture that he had approved of the relationship between underage Jessica and Jeff Ross. When asked whether he ever expressed concern about the age difference between Jessica and Ross, he indicated that he approved of her dating an older man. “If you go out with a 17-year-old guy, he may want to drive fast and impress you and you get killed, you know?” he says. “I really didn’t think much of it.”
But even if you remove the father from the equation. There is other evidence. Seven sources confirmed to Vulture that they were aware of Radtke’s relationship with Ross at the time of the allegations (she was 15 yrs old).
Three people also confirmed that Jessica worked at the club and the office (Barry Katz Entertainment) when she was 15 years old. David Batista, who worked in the office as a college intern confirmed the same. He says he was aware of her relationship with Ross and that she had the keys to Ross’s apartment and took Batista there on one occasion.
