Patty was upsetting. She used the excuse they were store bought to purposely give it a lower score. I find this as a form of cheating.
That annoyed the hell out of me.
Hate this. They producers need to enforce stricter rules on the scoring system or I'm just going to dislike such videos going forward.
She said they had an after taste. Even if she gave her a 10/10 she still would have won.
@@barroshaboykin2866 she does this kind of stuff in all the videos. She's just not a friendly competitor and doesn't maintain a neutral attitude and position that the others do.
@@karenpusateri2089 I've seen all the videos and I can say I don't see this pattern at all. She doesn't even win most of the time. And they are not supposed to be neutral. They are supposed to critique and give a score which all of them do every episode. If she didn't like the taste she didn't like the taste. You cant judge her tastebuds and then call her a cheater because she didnt like something. Honesty is not always rudeness. Now who's really being the critical one.

I've even seen some people claim that Patty "always rates super low in all the videos" (not at all true) just because she gave lower ratings this time.

Anne's roast potatoes: 7 vs. 7.5 (0.5 lower)
Theresa's roast potatoes: 7 vs. 6.5 (0.5 higher)
Anne's apple crumble: 8.5 vs 9.5 (1.0 lower)
Theresa's apple crumble: 7 vs. 7 (Same score)
Also, even though she rated Anne's apple crumble 1 point lower than the other mum did, she said she loved it and called it "utterly delicious."

What I like best about English Mums is that they are so honest and polite. Other people are giving the worst opinions and are so full of hate, but English mums? They actually enjoy each other's dishes! That's the way to go, good job, English Mums!

I wonder if there's some reason Patty thought they tasted store bought, based on taste, or if it was just that they already looked store bought to her, so there was some power of suggestion involved. If there really was a "store bought" taste, it would probably be added glutamates (in the gravy most likely) or processed animal fat, which can have a tinny taste due to preservatives. Or vegetable shortening, which always tastes like, well, vegetable shortening.

I know you can get uniform shapes if you scoop them but Patty was a sour thumb going from coming out of her kitchen to store bought! Who would bring store bought item to a judging contest of home made food. She just had to go low!
