Oh MY! When I purchased my home in2015, the washing machine was there. Once a month, I always pull the tube out that drains the smelly water; however, I never realize there was a filter there, and when I took it out after nine years, it was basically clean! Interesting, huh?

What if you get something stuck behind it? I was cleaning the tube the holder goes into and something got stuck behind in a smaller tubem

I think your supposed to drain it after every use.

@nextleveldiy I own one and if you let water sit after 1 use its stinky. So I just drain after every use. The trap that collects everything left in pockets and lint I clean out every month.
