Honestly, Trazyn dragging Orikan to the bio transference furnace, not out of loyalty to the C'tan, but sheer spite towards Orikan, sounds very in character. I imagine Orikan dragged him into with him too in the last moment.
@anna-flora999 I subscribe to the head cannon that they were both forced in but because they caused so much trouble theor memories were tampered with so they think the other was the biggest traitor. I can't remember if I heard that here or on Astartes Anonymous but I really liked the idea

He's actually like, remarkably one of the most human characters. He's one of the few people in the galaxtly that cares about rich histories and storied cultures and traditions.
Trazyn didnt get the Astrarium from those Exodites, he just took their world spirit. The Astrarium was taken by him from a dying Necron World that was flung into their sun while everyone on it was asleep. Orikan later tries to frame Trazyn for this, Trazyn tells the council that it wasnt his fault and that he also couldnt stop it. Trazyn then reminds the council of Orikans time travel abilities and how he failed to use those to warn the Necron world they got that funny device from, which puts them against Orikan.
One of the parts of Infinite and the Divine that stood out to me and I haven't seen many people talk about is the chapter with Trazyn and the head librarian. As messed up as the situation was, he showed a surprising amount of empathy and kindness to the guy, even asking him for advice and getting surprised when he realized he's already spent decades with him due to his own perception of time.
The best part was it shows the two sides of trayzen he’s both a somewhat nice guy hooked the human up with wealth, medical care etc, he prolly lived a pretty swell life for a 40K human, but trayzen still had him walk upstairs before he died because trayzn was to lazy to wanna carry his body upstairs

I wonder/hope if he'll do anything with that cause it's a non chaosy perfectly sane version of fulgrim too, throw him and creed out out into the galaxy and watch some wacky duo adventure action
I find it funny that Trazyn actually LOVES humanity! Though, he loves them in same way a dude might love the Roman Empire, that is. To him, humanity reminds him of his people before the whole robot thing. He often hangs around humans with his invisibility field thing, just so he can relate and study them. Kinda wholesome and sad

Concerning his collections' consciousness, there is an AdMech in his collection that seems to be there by choice. My reading of that is that Nilkath (the Sautekh warden who supposedly dragged Trazyn kicking and screaming to bio transference) actually did that to Orikan and the Deceiver just jumbled their memories to stoke their rivalry.

Honestly, i love the idea of Trazyn talking about the Horus heresy like it's TV show, how it's so full of drama and action, that's just so in character.
You talked about the inquisitor that died for being in contact with him but not the Admech Man who asked to be able to think while in stasis. To which Trayzn tried to talk him down, and the AM replied I'm mostly machine anyway; it'll be fine. It shows he cares about the well-being of the pieces he collects
to further your point, trazyn chased orikan through his gallery(possibly because he stole the maguffin from him) and to slow him down, he started tossing pieces of his collection to him and the floor. he was actually distraught, many of those pieces were not replaceable
I'm a bit amazed you managed to miss his most important contribution to the Fall of Cadia, i.e. getting the null array online so that there could actually be an epic battle and not just cadia getting deleted. Trazyn is hands down (until he steals them at least) my favorite character in 40K, and the one I relate to the most. Infinite and the Divine didn’t have to work hard (and yet by goodness it did anyway) to get me to empathize with him and I definitely root for him whenever he shows up.
To be fair he is one of the nicer Necrons. He will come to collect you if you don't have any other options... Or because you attacked him. He will let your civilization die on its own instead of being the cause of it. Yes he steals, but at least he makes note of it unlike everyone else. Last but not least...he's the breath of fresh air in 40k like some of the other fun odd balls.
The moonknight meme is perfect to me for Trazyn, because if anyone would have an undefined bloodfued with dracula over money he's owed that he doesn't even remember why or how much, its Trazyn. 40k that as you please, several of his events fit
"The Infinite and the Divine" is finally what got me to start buying, painting, and playing. I was a lore nerd for such a long time but I was really inspired by the book to start the hobby. Gimmie a like if that happened to you!
Trazyn is the character that taught me what GW finecast resin is. I can say with pride though that I suffered through it and now he guards my own little collection.
I’ve considered it. I plan to try that if I ever get around to making a proper Necron army. Given how fragile he is, transporting him would be a nightmare.
One of my favourite parts of The Infinite and the Divine was when Trazyn and Orikan are standing over a ravaged human corpse and are one-upping eachother with more jargon and armchair medical analysis to figure out what happened... spoiler alert, it was an escaped genestealer beast, but I wont spoil how it got onto Serenade in the first place. Also a smaller part but when they are in front of the Awaked Council for the first time and as they come in (late) Lord Nemesor Zuberkar is fiddling with his sword by repeatedly flicking it around by the hilt and catching it again after a rotation. Thinking about the flesh times no doubt.
My favorite bit in the Infinite and Divine was when Trazyn was talking to 1 of his advisors about making space in his wine cellar for more storage space. The advisor went: "Sir do we really need to keep all these wine bottles, you never drink them"; and Trazyn went: "Yeah I know, because they're super rare, that's why I'm saving it" "Sir you don't even have a mouth or stomach. You literally can't drink wine"
Ah yes, Trazyn the Infinite. Literally the only character in all of Warhammer who rivals the Blood Ravens in sheer kleptomania. Seriously, there's a meme where he's pulled a mutual theft against Indrick Boreale in regards to coffee (oh I'm sorry, RECAF) mugs.
I regret that the infinite and the Divine was my first 40k book. Because it's arguably one of the best and that ending fight is just the most 40k fanservice in the best way possible.
Imagine if Trazyn literally kidnapped Tzeentch from the Warp. Trazyn has no soul so idk if Tzeentch can know what he’s up to. On top of that it would just be absolutely hilarious
I am still holding the headcanon that the lore reason of why Malal was written out of the game due to copyright issues, is because Trazy threw one of his pokeballs at it and put it on a pedestal.
Between Trazyn, Vect, Rakarth, Lelith and the Drukhari, Motley and the Harlequins, Lucius, Erebus, Cain, Nemesor Zahndrekh, and the orks in general I am convinced a part of this universe and its lore is just Jackass 40k edition.

I've been reading through the Gaunt's Ghosts series and its amazing. With Trazyn trying to steal the Spear of Vulcan, I am pretty sure he actually tried it multiple times (killing several of his surrogate bodies in the process), and even started a war between the Salamanders and some other faction just to distract them while he could steal more of their shit. There was also a mention of him wanting to "complete his set" so he might have more of Vulcans artifacts already.
Every time I hear of Trazyn or think of him I get giddy, the funny Necron man makes me happy and think of the various fun adventures he could get into or cause by being himself
All I can say is he's the only one I've wanted to create my own homebrew with. Mainly a companion for him who can help him both collect things and invent things.
If possible the funniest thing about Trazyn stealing stuff from the other dynasty was doing it while *a pre recorded message prepared especially for him was telling him not to steal stuff*
Trazyn is one of my favorite characters in all of 40k he is such a loveable scamp! The episode of hammer and boltor with him truly showed how calculating and sadistic he is.
I was also a history major though I dropped out twice. I wasn't aiming for teaching or really any career with it, I just wanted access to the knowledge school gave me. Luckily I got out without too much debt, and gathered enough info that I wanted!
On the part of trazyn trying to figure out how to get into the eye of terror, all I can imagine is Trazyn stealing from each of the chaos gods. Khornes chain axe and blame it on Slaanesh Tzeench's yugioh cards Slaanesh's adult toys And from Nurgle... oh, well, you know... Isha. And no, I don't care whether or not he could get through nurgles garden, it'd be fucking hilarious.
Reminds me of Fantasy Changeling, The Troll Supreme. He put a nurgling on Khrones skull throne, stole Slaaneshs apples and put them in Nurgles garden leading to a civil war between Gods. And he did that for shits and giggles.
I'm not into tabletop Warhammer 40k but love the lore. Was super stoked when the 40k Magic The Gathering decks came out tho. As a rabid supporter of historical preservation, I like Trazyn. Tbh he kinda fulfills my fantasy of, say, paradropping into a war zone to recover some super important artifact from a museum caught in the crossfire.
my favourite bit of lore about him is in the infinite and divine when he spends ages trying to hack orikans teleporter just so he can pop out and shot orikan in the face he knows orikan doesn't have the Mysterios and just doesn't care he just wanted to let out his frustration
I think you should have mentioned a moment in the infinite and divine where Trazyn has a human slave. He uses mind control scarabs to make a librarian his slave for decades while he hides in the library to do research, and he treats the guy really well. Doesnt work him to death or treat him like a servator, nah this man had his life. He grew old, he had married and had kids, and Trazyn pulled strings to give the guy the best health care to keep him around longer and made sure the guy's kids got into good schools and had good futures set up. On the man's last night of service he talked to the guy like an old friend and answered any questions he had and was sad to see him have to go. He did have to kill the guy but he told him straight up before the old man left, the man wanted to die to be with his wife so its not just murder, and Trazyn even apologized for having to do it telling him he cant promise it'll be painless but it will be quick.

Let's make this a thing, he DOES have an actual Thunder Warrior in his collection
Trayzn keeps stealing gray knights and paints them while they're in stasis, much to their dismay
there's a bit in The Infinite and The Divine where he shows off his HH era Blood Angels army and explains in detail which marines he had to repaint because they're from a successor chapter, which ones he still has to swap out because they're wearing the wrong helmets etc. and I've never related to a 40k character as much before or since.
There's a remark from Twice Dead King: Ruin where two necrons are talking about their immortality, with one of them saying their cryptek advisor said everyone needs an obsession to keep them sane through the millennia, to which his counterpart remarks "Then Trayzn must be the most sane of us all"
Is it wrong to consider Trazyn the best character in all of 40K? Like don't get me wrong 40k has a lot of amazing characters but I just think Trazyn might honestly be the best written and most entertaining. At the very least I think he's easily in the top 10 best 40k characters.

Honestly, Trazyn dragging Orikan to the bio transference furnace, not out of loyalty to the C'tan, but sheer spite towards Orikan, sounds very in character.
I imagine Orikan dragged him into with him too in the last moment.
The way I read the scene was that it was neither loyalty nor spite. Trazyn was already a necron

But I'd only volunteer to be in one if he lets me out from time to time so I can see his collection, provide insite some insite on 3rd Millennium topics, and possibly help grow his collection with stuff from this time period.
To be honest it would be worth being in stasis afterward if I got to see the museum

I loved that part.
One of the best parts of the book
“I can’t promise it will be painless, but it will be quick”
The best part was it shows the two sides of trayzen he’s both a somewhat nice guy hooked the human up with wealth, medical care etc, he prolly lived a pretty swell life for a 40K human, but trayzen still had him walk upstairs before he died because trayzn was to lazy to wanna carry his body upstairs

Concerning his collections' consciousness, there is an AdMech in his collection that seems to be there by choice. Khornes chain axe and blame it on Slaanesh
Tzeench's yugioh cards
Slaanesh's adult toys
And from Nurgle... oh, well, you know... Isha.
And no, I don't care whether or not he could get through nurgles garden, it'd be fucking hilarious.
Trazyn will pull out some ancient Old Ones tech weedwhacker and mow his way through Nurgle's backyard.
Reminds me of Fantasy Changeling, The Troll Supreme. He put a nurgling on Khrones skull throne, stole Slaaneshs apples and put them in Nurgles garden leading to a civil war between Gods. And he did that for shits and giggles.
Trazyn is collecting artifacts to eventually display to visitors when the galaxy becomes more evolved and refined. It’s actually oddly wholesome.
I'm not into tabletop Warhammer 40k but love the lore. Was super stoked when the 40k Magic The Gathering decks came out tho. The Necron deck had a Trazyn card in it.....which is by far one of my fav cards from that set. I've got a couple of him i picked up for other decks....but I'm sitting on one copy for a dedicated EDH eeck just caise I love the charcter.
As a rabid supporter of historical preservation, I like Trazyn. Tbh he kinda fulfills my fantasy of, say, paradropping into a war zone to recover some super important artifact from a museum caught in the crossfire.
Long overdue, finally a video on
Trazyn the infinite:
Collector, historian, and the galaxy’s biggest troll.
“It belongs in a museum!”
Trazyn: “Yeah… mine.”
I always liked the idea that Trazyn is somewhat of a representation of players and collectors of GW products.
my favourite bit of lore about him is in the infinite and divine when he spends ages trying to hack orikans teleporter just so he can pop out and shot orikan in the face he knows orikan doesn't have the Mysterios and just doesn't care he just wanted to let out his frustration
It'll probably never happen, but it would be neat if Trazyn could call upon models from other factions to fight for him.
You could probably homebrew something like that
The British Museum in robot form
"It's not grave robbery if it's archeology"- The British Museum Motto
