Nice meeting the fam. A true blessing, Sir. I'm East of you right now over in Virginia renovating a duplex I bought in April. Been laying carpet for my first time ever in a few rooms here and I have to say it's more tiresome and exhausting than laying vinyl plank. Removing the old carpet and padding, pulling all the staples, laying new pad, then stretching fitting, cutting, trimming, tucking... all after hauling heavy rolls if carpet and pad up a flight of stairs, whew! Makes for a good night of sleep. Brings a deep appreciation for the skills and hard work of those who do this stuff for a living. It's nice to get done and then admire my handiwork, feeling like I made good money by saving money doing this all myself. Rock on! ✌🏼
I am getting ready to do a major install in my home of Vinyl Plank. I believe the Lord sent me to your videos to help me learn some of your secrets of the trade. I may need a little help with a difficult bedroom off the main hallway. Thanks for always praying for guys like us who want to install with a little help and advice from a friend. God bless you, Joe.
Watching this guy video finally I finish my project installing my laminate floor, I didn’t have any knowledge about installation, but watching his videos I learned how to do it, my job looks like a professional job thanks to this guy, I wish that you guys could see my job already finish,
I appreciate this video soooooo much!! The mistakes made during installation was GOLD! Thank you so much for making this video. I am going to tackle my floors with confidence ❤️ God bless you and your family
Looking at doing my whole house, I've never done it but thanks to you guys I have a chance. Love the realism of the way you guys interact, funny as hell .
Knowledge is a form of awareness or familiarity. It is often understood as awareness of facts or as practical skills, and may also mean familiarity with objects or situations. " you have an awesome channel thank you."
Watching you work with your guys on this floor has totally set the process in my mind to the point where I’m now confident that I’ll do a good job of our floor in what is our first house. I have the whole house to do on a concrete floor and want no door transition strips. I’ll start with a centre line in the central hallway, making sure to measure out so the boards land in sensible places at the doorways and against the walls, then go out from there. I I really appreciate your videos Joe. It’s fun watching you and your team do their thing.
I'm very very thankful for you posting these videos. I would love to be able to pay a professional and invest in my own community but I can't afford to yet. What I can't afford is a bunch of habitat for humanity vinyl, And my own time. I can't thank you enough for this post.
Absolutely love this video Joe. The bantering is great and I love how simple you make it look. Starting my new laminate floor with confidence, having never done this before. Keep it up. Lord bless you richly.
Great video, Joe! It was fun to watch and to see you working with your family. Also, it was good to see a few variations on the installation techniques. Keep well!
Joe, I have three rooms to put down vinyl plank for a total of about 600 square feet. I have been watching several of your videos. Very helpful and you are a great teacher. Thanks so much for them. Best to you.
I admired how the installation was done . DIY, neat work can't even see Where the joining with the Vinyl flooring was done, excellent job done waiting to see what is your next project.👍🏾👍🏾.
Excellent instruction and a little brand snob banter. 🤣I wish I would have had a good working relationship with my Father, great to see your Family getting along together. I watch your videos but just still don’t have confidence in my construction abilities 🤷♂️🤣. Should just dive in and quit worrying.
This is one of my favorite videos I've watched of yours to date! Lots of new interesting methods shown. You taught your son well, he has confidence in trying what comes to him as a better, and probably most important to him quicker way of skinning the cat! Nice work, getting ready for my floor
Nice work you all seem to have a good sense of pride in your work. I really like the cheater board. I will be teaching my son to fit a floating floor on his house I will definitely adopt the cheater board idea. It was good to see you helping out and the family spending time together.
Great video! I have a question about a sliding closet door track in a bedroom. Should I uninstall the closet track and put the LVP under it and remount the closet track on top of the LVP?
wow thanks for videos... all the obstacles awesome to see outcome in different situations. really appreciate advice. working on my sons bedroom and mine after in Ca. thanks
I put the same flooring in my house lol. Also a installer. 1 question, y the tap blocks. I always make a “tap block” out of the flooring I’m using. Cur a strap down a few inches by a foot and tap with a hammer then you know you’ll never break a lip off. Like your videos.
Honestly love this video I install slot of these floors I struggled with them till I found your videos only thing that’s driving me crazy is your guys use of there speed squares n cheater blocks cut your cheater block square an use that as your square wasting time an energy reaching for tools few other things but I’m mainly a carpenter an a bit picky so I won’t bother with that but all an all very great information
Love your approach to teaching. Asking the questions why you're doing something causes the viewer to think. Thanks so much I've done floating floors before only a few small jobs . So I learned some excellent little tricks for my entire house job am about to undertake.
Hey, thank you for your detailed videos. I'm currently installing LVP over a hardwood floor in a 100-year-old house that is has warped and separated boards. Neither Ardex nor 745 is available in my area. Can polymer modified thinset be used instead? Have any other ideas for me?
When you mentioned snapping a line to make sure the boards are straight, it confused me a bit. What would you do if the boards aren't running straight and square as you go into the next room? How would you change the way they're running if they have to snap into each other? I can understand snapping a line if you're using a transition strip, because it's a separate floor at that point. How would you square it up if it's a continuous run though?
Do you happen to have a video showing plank installation going straight through a doorway (instead of side to side)? I'm assuming I can do this but I'm a little nervous about it having not seen any videos showing any unique challenges I might want or need to consider. I'm planking my hallway, bathroom and kitchen and want the planks to go all in the same direction which means planks will run forward through the bathroom door instead of left to right)
Have another question? I have a friend that did a project but I see the dreaded patterns they say to avoid. The dreaded H and the stair step patterns etc. do you have a video link, you might have talked about this. 🙏🤓
No matter what you will get some stair stepping when looking at the floor from certain directions. The plank is all the same size and because of this it is impossible not to see stair stepping. As far as the H goes, that is pretty simple to avoid. Just always try and be sure butt joints never line up and you are golden!!
That grinder with the shroud attachment is awesome! Btw why do you need to be so precise underneath the floor? What would happen if you floored over without the fill and stuff?
I resorted to a jigsaw as my utility knife scoring sucked. Did a whole double wide and now can tell where I started vs finished. Learn along the way that it ain't something I'm good at....
Enjoy the knowledge you instill in your videos. One question when you pull to place planks Do you pull from three different boxes or you use each box as they are put in the box?
Do you have any suggestions for a great room that has wood and tile…and I want to put engineered vinyl floor over the tile only, how could I deal with the transition and make it as flat as possible?
I'm still trying to understand fully how you use the cheater board. If i understand this correctly you're setting up the vinyl planking so that it is a specific distance away from the wall of your choice so that it centered in the room. Then the first she of vinyl planking behind the Pieces that you screw into the floor are the pieces that you cut? I kind of get it on a kind of don't i'm so sorry i'm struggling with the concept. If there's a very specific video where you show how to use a cheater board I would love a link to that. I will also look around on youtube and see if I can find some different explanations. But I really like your videos. Thank you for the post.

Let me know what I should be doing?
I am sorry if I missed this answer/explanation somewhere but is the "cheater" anything more than a short scrap or has a strip been ripped off to facilitate the gap along the wall? Great videos!!
