Joe, you helped me tremendously. I couldn't have done it without you. I recently laid a 1,700 square foot floor in a 175yrs old building in upstate New York all alone. I used Pergo TimberCraft with Pergo underlayment. The main living space is roughly 30'× 10'. I had never put a single piece of flooring down. Not carpet, not tile, not laminate or linolium. I watched roughly 6hours or your videos before starting. Your 'tips and tricks' video was very helpful. I'm truly indebted to you for sharing your knowledge with the World. Thank you!
I would love to share photos of my work with you.

Joe, All of your content is great, but this video stands out to me. I appreciate the way you teach and explain every step to a "real" DIYer. I've never sent a "Super Thanks" before, but I feel you really deserve it. Also, bought a Plank Hammer from you and can't wait to use it this weekend on my install. Keep up the great content.

@@sothatshowyoudothat Thanks to your instructions, my install went pretty smooth. Followed your techniques on laying the first row using screwed-down scrap pieces, never even opened the bag of spacers that I purchased. Your Plank Hammer is a great tool that makes all the difference. I quickly learned I needed to be careful however and found that I was chipping the tongue by banging it too hard (LifeProof 22mil) which made the next row a little harder. Towards the end I discovered that I could take a tile knife and just score out the groove slightly to help it click better because my floor was a little bit wonky.

I can not begin to thank you for all your help. I especially like your prayers. I just retired and since I'm home all day, my wife thought it would be great to remodel the house and put down all new floors. 😵‍💫 I've never done this before. But I do have about 100 hours of UA-cam experience.😆I just got the carpet up in one room and got chalk lines all over the house. Already thinking about finding a contractor.

I installed 1000 feet of vinyl plank in my daughter's house, and 1864 square feet of vinyl plank in my house. I watched Joe's videos before doing so, and my floors look amazing. No transitions in doorways, perfect alignment and proper spacing of all planks. I also used the tools Joe mentioned in his videos, including those adjustable spacers next to the walls (those are lifesavers), and saved a total in both houses of approx. $15,000 dollars in labor.
Watch all his videos, and be prepared for some work. But when you're done, you'll be proud of your work, and you'll save a ton of money. Yes, you'll spend bucks on the best tools and such, but believe it: you'll save thousands.

Brilliant idea to make how-to video where you help someone rather than just a "show and lecture" type video. What is so great is that you point out where he does things "wrong", etc. - somehow this reinforces the concepts better than just a lecture-style video. Good idea, maybe do some more of these. I will try to lay some flooring myself. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

Joe ,you are a True gentleman! I just did yet another nice floor using your tricks of the Trade! I had not done Laminate in awhile,I have been putting vinyl plank down! I wanted something more substantial to cover over bathroom floor of old farmhouse my kids are buying! I used Pergo + Moisture Resistant laminate! It was the hardest floor ever to get seams locked up! I tried every trick drop locking ,sliding ,etc! I ended up starting butt ends then heavy tapping the long ends and butt ends both! It really took effort but did lock up tight with persuasion!

Always such great info from you, Joe. Such a great idea to film you helping a DIYer. You always do a great job explaining to the camera, but explaining to a real person and making sure he gets what you’re telling him takes it to another level.
The Gorilla Glue technique is very helpful. If anyone thinks it creates a weak point, I can assure you it does not. I used this technique 2 years ago and about 1/2 hour after gluing a few planks at the end of the room I realized I had made an error, causing me to have to remove a few planks. Those joints were stronger than the actual plank - the plank actually tore apart next to the joint and the joint held! Caused me to need to remove a few more planks to fix my error, but I had plenty of extra flooring and in the end it turned out great.

Hello, so I installed LVP in my living room and afterwards, I can tell by the way it feels when you step in certain areas that the subfloor is slightly uneven. There's a certain hollow feel to the step on just a few areas. Will this be a problem for me as the new floor gets walked upon? All the planks are installed correctly with adequate expansion spacing around the perimeter and there is no bulging or unlevel seams, but I'm now hoping that where the floor dips slightly, our planks won't break or damage.

Would you use flooret wood in a bathroom or would you use a 100% LVP?? Thank you

My instructions that cam with the LVPF, says put the starter plank with the extended locking mechanism away from the wall, all your videos say to put the tounge towards the wall.....it is a drop and lock i believe, I guess ill follow the instructions on the box, hope this doesnt come back to haunt me.🤣

Hi Joe, Joe here. I'm flooring a condo and have older LVP installed in kitchen and hall over original 1960s (asbestos) flooring. I would like to install Flooret flooring. I'm removing carpet from the living room and want the floor level throughout the front of the house. Is there something 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick I could glue down instead of using self leveling compound to match height with the old carpeted area? The floor material is 6" concrete on the second of four levels. Thanks! LVP first timer.

I’m planning to install this vinyl in my basement with sub-board on so do I need to lay that black under layer?

What are your thoughts on mannington Adura max vs Flooret? I’ve install mannington several times, but it gets furniture dents pretty easily.
I like the look of Flooret better, but I’ve never seen it in person.
How do the two brands compare in your opinion

Q, can I install a freestanding Tub on plank flooring? Should I seal the entire room?

Yes. Sealing is up to you. If you think it will get wet, seal it.

How would you make your first couple rows straight if you were laying it on a cement basement floor?

Good video however there are some areas were the explanation is not very clear. Like trimming the tongue or was it the groove with untility knife.
