Oh my gosh....my father just passed away on 2-14-14 and i have been looking for music to play at his graveside memorial. this is my dad to a T and i will be playing this one at his service! Beautiful!!
I actually searched until I found a version of this song by The Carter Family and I was so happy when my aunts and uncles sang along to the song! I used Diamonds in the Rough, Green Pastures by Emmylou Harris and Ricky Skaggs, Amazing Grace(My Chains Are Gone) Chris Tomlinson and of course Vince Gill's Go Rest High On That Mountain. Most of my family and several visitor's sang along to all 4 songs and I picked Bible verses that went along with how I interpreted the music and my Dad. It was very sweet and simple and suited my Dad and what he wanted.
