I got a TUF F16 (i7 13650HX / RTX 4060), overall, the laptop is an excellent choice. The battery is surprisingly great, the keyboard, the build quality, performance, temperature are also doing great. I've been using it for a month now. The brightness isn't a problem for me as I only use it when I'm at school and my house. The problem that I actually have is the sound quality, it sounds bad ( the same feeling as you turn on music on a very cheap mobile phone).

same, i owned f16 2024 too and the only bad thing is just the fact that the speaker is kinda trash. Undervolt+150w power limit+tdp up+IETS GT500 and it push really hard games that runs at above 140fps

I have the ASUS TUF A16 laptop with 7735hs and 7700s for a few months now. I honestly have no problems with it. I set the battery to 80% limit and that lasts my whole day at school and at home too. So that’s about 8+ hours. The fans can be turned off in battery saving mode. If you are not gaming or doing intensive tasks on battery the laptop wont overheat. The screen is fine for me. I don’t use my laptop outside so the brightness isn’t an issue. Only thing I wish it had was a fingerprint sensor or Windows hello.
I would also recommend safely removing armory crate and replace it w g-helper, or if you don’t wanna remove armory crate, g-helper has a option to just stop those, which stops my asus, armory crate n stuff like that
The 3dmark time spy graphics score is quite suprising, the avg rtx 4060 laptop get's around 10.4k, meanwhile this laptop basically gets a score of 11k, infact my hp victus 15 when overclocked gets a score of 11.1k so the 4060 in the tuf f16 might have a factory overclock.
I'm planning to buy the Asus Tuf A15 Ryzen 7 8845hs Rtx 4060 but I'm seeing reports from People on Reddit, other Forums that Asus Tuf has Wifi disconnecting problems(due to the Wifi card placed below SSD), Power Button failing problem(Asus Tuf Power button are notorious to fail within 1 year), and Coil Whine issue. Asus Tuf owners are reporting these problems and they're saying it's quite common for Asus Tuf to have these problems. I'm concerned about these issues on Asus Tuf. What do you think about these issues?
I have a 2020 A15 TUF laptop. The cooling of it sucks because of the chassis and the screen is low quality. Then I bought the 2022 A15 version with a very good 2560 x 1440p, 144 Hz monitor, but the chassis was even weaker and one day, after having owned it for 4 months, writing on it the laptop short circuited and died. Never ASUS again!
I was literally searching for a review of this laptop earlier today... uncanny 😂. I'm still on Intel 8th Gen GTX1050Ti LAPTOP Asus Strix from 2018... at this point anything at all is an upgrade.
Hey Jarrod, can I ask how you test for backlight bleed? Do you max out the brightness then take a picture in the dark? I am really curious because I am kind of worried about the backlight bleed on my acer helios neo 16 although I don't really notice it unless the screen is displaying black colors.
Jarrod giving that the DLSS 3 and the other DLSS goodies are getting better, and giving that I wouldn't mind compromising using DLSS 3, FSR etc. too much anymore in case the drop in quality is not that significant compared to the native, is it better to go TODAY for a gaming laptop with rtx 3070ti card, or for rtx 4060? What about 4070 (even though from what i understood rtx 4070 laptop doesn't make a huge difference compared to the 4060)? My goal would be to game at 1440p range without stutters at at least (or above) 55-60fps avg, any of these tripple a games you are presenting here at high+ or highest max graphics settings. What's your opinion?
So many OEMs give their gaming laptops terrible screens because they just assume they're going to be hooked up to much better desktop monitors for most of their life. OLED or 450 to 500Nit LCDs are the only acceptable screens, IMO.

Sadly the screen problem is real (1920x1200 ) and unacceptable ! Bought it few days ago and had also a problem with the screen flickering randomly ! I tried everything by updating all drivers but nothing helped. Found that if i used the Nvidia graphics the problem dissapeared but the battery was drained fast ..So whats the point of integrated graphics then if you cannot use ithem properly without the screen flickering..? So i returned it.. Its really sad that a laptop of that price range(bought it in EU for 1600E ) doesnt have a proper working screen.. Also the brightness wasnt enough ... So i'm searching for an alternative with 2560x1600 screen now ..
Do you use a cooling pad? I'm thinking of getting one to extend the usage I can get out of my intel i7 13k with an rtx 4060. The temps can go to 32-37°C on an average day in my country so I'm really considering it.

Hi Jarrod Whats your take on intel CPUs crashing , I want to order AMD only coz I won’t be upgrading for a long time and want something that will last Do you think intel’s crashing CPUs have finally actually fixed ?
My take is Intel have said it's not an issue for laptops. Even if you don't believe them, 13th gen HX is more than 18 months old and I haven't heard about them dying, so I tend to believe them. I mean, it would be silly if there is an issue for them and they put microcode updates out for desktop and not laptop, that doesn't make sense to me.

Hey there! Have you thought about reviewing the Minisforum V3 3-in-1? It's a tablet equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U and a Radeon 780M. From my perspective, it could be really interesting to see how it performs, especially considering it's a tablet with such powerful specs!
Came for the review. I stayed for the shirt!!
Age of Empires II runs smoothly on it. Excellent game! I really enjoyed playing it on this laptop.
Kalmah!!!!
Jarrod with the best shirts in the game (and music taste)!
Pretty deep review, thx!
Why do people buy these laptops? For that kind of money, you can find a one- to three-year-old used Zephyrus or Legion in good condition. Same or better performance, and definitely better build quality, screen, speakers etc.
Thanks for the review, Jarrod. Outstanding as always.
Why didn't you test the now prev gen omen 17? You did the victus 16. Why not the omen 16 or 17?
Very detailed, very impressive
It looks exactly the same as the one from 2022 it’s quite interesting tbh, basically the layout is exactly the same I have the 2022 one btw
yeah, just some minor changes like the awsd keys are black transparant now and the best one is that the display's bezel is a lot thinner
Like the quality of the speakers or the quality of the sound when listening through headphones?
@@LandonHosey-h7g Quality of the speakers, sounds great with headphone and stuffs, just the speaker of TUF F16 is poor
Quanto scalda e quanto rumore fa?
@@lorenzoarras2751 Can get "Very loud" If you maximum the fan, but you probably won't do that. The sound is decent in my opinion and you can turn on silent mode which is pretty quiet. The highest temperature for me is 95C and it never went above 95C. Also no laggy issue or whatever.
same, i owned f16 2024 too and the only bad thing is just the fact that the speaker is kinda trash. It's not a problem when it comes to listening to music, but when it comes to gaming for some reason the volume tuned down (I played gta v from epic games) and it gets worse when you set the fan to turbo 😹. although u could just use headsets when gaming
should i consider this or the LOQ??
I got it for 1000€, the 450nits 1600p, 13650hx, 4060, 16gb ram version. Upgraded storage to 2x Samsung 990 pro (already had them) and the jump from the F15 2021 is gigantic, even tho i had it with cpu and ram overclocked and 130w vbios for gpu.
Added my old IETS GT500 and temps are amazing. The 1600p 16" panel is really good for working.
Already got the fastest 13650hx and 4060 in timespy (n°1), n°9 on timespy, 23k on cinebench r23. Pretty satisfied, especially for the price i got it. In my place, the closest 4060 laptop was 200€ more and with worse monitor and cpu.
Ps: with throttlestop, i can get it use 80w on cpu and full 105w on gpu while gaming with full 4.9ghz for all p-core. Undervolt+150w power limit+tdp up+IETS GT500 and it push really hard games that runs at above 140fps
Get xtu this chip is part of desktop dies, you shouldn't overclock it until asus releases the latest microcode update otherwise you could be degreding the chip, i have a g16 and undervolted mines to - 200mv and cache undervolted to - 80mv. And have great temps and performance. You dont need to overclock if anything undervolt it to best extend ur battery life and performance can see gains.
@@gabproductions3312 Every time there is someone saying me how i need to use my laptop.
I have different world record for both 11800h and 3060, you don't have to say me anything. I have already one of the fastest 4060 mobile and 13650hx.
You can already apply the microcode
The 13650hx don't get to dangerous voltages
You can overclock and still undervolt (undervolt is different from overvolt, overvolt is different from overclock)
As a metal fan I appreciate the F out of the shirts. 🤘👊
Can you Try review Tuf A15 on 2024 model?
Can you review the G6 2024 KF? I have this laptop and I wanna see how good it is in your video
Hey Jerrod, the A16 I am looking at has a R9 7940 HX, is that a massive step up from this CPU? I am torn between this one and a Legion 5. I will mostly be using on a external monitor anyways so keyboard and build isnt much of an issue . I am concerned with performance and quality of use.
@@shockboss4287 Do you have any screen issues? Flickering, blinking, etc.?
And what integrated GPU do you have?
@@kissebb no issues, i have the 165 hz 1920x1200 p screen. I would've preferred the 2560x1600 p screen, but you get what you pay for.

I would also recommend safely removing armory crate and replace it w g-helper, or if you don’t wanna remove armory crate, g-helper has a option to just stop those, which stops my asus, armory crate n stuff like that
@@alarmedbbg3339 Excellent recommendation, G-helper is a fantastic alternative to armoury crate and other asus bloatware. Thanks for mentioning!
Good day Jarrod, please make a video on tuf a14
F17 test coming bro ? 😊
The big problem is it has intel, a company that is morally & ethically corrupt.
that hinge is crying
what about the F17? is the only one available in my region
i found this same laptop at 1k, should i buy it or wait for black friday sales?
opinions on the a16?
I was literally searching for a review of this laptop earlier today... uncanny 😂. I'm still on Intel 8th Gen GTX1050Ti LAPTOP Asus Strix from 2018... at this point anything at all is an upgrade.
I think it would have been more uncanny if you had been figuratively searching.
There's a brand new asus tuf a16 with ryzen ai 9 out there. Would you mind to review that one?
So many OEMs give their gaming laptops terrible screens because they just assume they're going to be hooked up to much better desktop monitors for most of their life.
OLED or 450 to 500Nit LCDs are the only acceptable screens, IMO.
Is the tuf f16 intel version doesn't have wifi issues?
I'm not aware of any?
@JarrodsTech so this laptop doesn't have any problem like what people used to say about Asus tuf?
Watching this on my 1 week old tuf f16...
Hello will you be reviewing the Lenovo 7i pro gen 9? Thanks
@Jarrod, can you please review the early 2024 TUF a16 with 7940HX CPU? The 7945HX and rtx 4070 model frequently goes below 1600 USD was even available around 1300 USD.
What about asus tuf a16 ryzen 9 7845hx rtx 4060 32 ram and 1 terabyte?
brother I have a query regarding my Lenovo IdeaPad l340...I want to upgrade my RAM from 8 to 16 rn I have 16 gb ram ddr4 3200 MHz available, will it be healthy for my Mobo and performance or should I go for 2400 MHz only,in ur video I noticed you install 2666mhz. Please reply.
Thankyou.
If your laptop is DDR4 3200MHZ then go for 3200MHZ, you don't have to lower it
Wait...... No sponsor??
I just bought Gigabyte Aorus 17H with rtx4080 and it's great! But it's loud and all important ports are at the right side. But still, cool laptop.
You should include temps for gaming as well.
@@King_of_hell_three_sword_style It never surpasses 95, I'd say it runs around 80-90
Do you use a cooling pad? I'm thinking of getting one to extend the usage I can get out of my intel i7 13k with an rtx 4060. The temps can go to 32-37°C on an average day in my country so I'm really considering it.
@@Alacachoo You don't have to use cooling pad on any laptops. You can easily reduce the temperature by lifting the back of your laptop up. Also, make sure that you place it where the air flows well. I also live in the hot country. It never surpasses 95C (After using for more than 10+ Hours, gaming and multitask).

Hi Jarrod
Whats your take on intel CPUs crashing , I want to order AMD only coz I won’t be upgrading for a long time and want something that will last
Do you think intel’s crashing CPUs have finally actually fixed ?
My take is Intel have said it's not an issue for laptops. Even if you don't believe them, 13th gen HX is more than 18 months old and I haven't heard about them dying, so I tend to believe them. I mean, it would be silly if there is an issue for them and they put microcode updates out for desktop and not laptop, that doesn't make sense to me.

@@skelebro9999 My friend's using Nitro 5 and the build quality is so bad that it's starting to fall apart
