- Test Ride with me the new 22 Harley Davidson Pan America Special. I will go over some of the new features and put it through the paces. Did Harley get it right in the super tight adventure motorcycle market? Or is there issues and problems for 2022 still? This is an honest review, let me know your thoughts on the 22 HD Pan America as well! Please take a look at my first year videos too.

I have 22' PAS. Absolutely love it. 3k miles thus far no issues, don't keep on tender starts every time. I have the black. Also have 20' Ultra Limited just rolled 30k on that one.
I bought the Fast Back Blue PAS end of March, and I have no regrets after 6000 miles on it. I have had zero troubles with it, and it is simply a lot of fun to ride. It is a sensitive engine, and threw codes frequently during the first few 1000 miles, but now it rarely does. Codes are not a big deal since the rider can clear them without having to go to the dealer like some manufacturers require. The rear tire barely made 6000 miles--it's a lot of ponies to the pavement, and the tire shows it.
I have a’21 that I like when it plays nice. I have had 4 software updates, side stand bolts coming unscrewed with no thread locker. Hopefully after 3 years, the bugs are worked, and I will be happy going forward
2022 PA Special owner. Took delivery August 2022. 9000 trouble free miles so far. Mt twisties and a trip from NE Pa to Fla and back. Rear tire looks like it will make it to 10,000 miles before replacing. I absolutely love this bike.So far looks like Harley has addressed the issues that I have read about. Because it is in only its second year of production I have purchased the extended 5 year full factory warranty. I think that this bike will be around for a long time and will be improved as time goes by. Not that I feel that it really needs any improvement. For this being HDs first bike of this type I feel that they have hit a homer. Quite an achievement for any company delving into a product very much outside of their normal expertise. Bro I think that you are a bit too critical in your personal assesment of this bike. Just saying.
I bought my 22 PAS A month ago and absolutely love it!
Recently purchased one and currently have close to 2000 trouble free miles. Hopefully it will remain reliable, it's alot of fun!
that pa is just sooo tempting
I run soft bags. Coil pack there is after market cover
after 2000 miles I've had only one issue, one time, starting the bike. Cleared a code and it started right up. Otherwise I love this bike and it seems very reliable.
9000 miles on my 2021 been in the shop for a month with a screeching fuel pump. Dealer originally said MoCo would not warranty a working fuel pump even as it sounds like there's gravel in it and said it's rideable but I don't want the expense and trouble returning it if it fails.
I wouldn't drive too far with it...unless you want to have a truck following you...that is hogwash!
The header pipe is a quarter of an inch away from the radiator hose
Very bad design
I wonder how the Harley Dealers will treat this bike. I remember going into a few HD dealerships to look at a Ulysses years ago and they looked at me like I an alien.
they start with "Cool!" then after you've visited them 20 times with issues they are like "Here comes the PA guy again"
That engine has great power but I see a lot of people having several issues with them. One thing I have learned is never to buy a new one for 2 or 3 years after changes. They like to advertise new products having 10s of thousands of miles of testing and years of development but that can't be true with all the issues they have in the first few years
I saw your review on the 2021 that ended being sold and full of bugs making it a real pain.
2022 is good? They were able to fix all that in 1 year? After watching the video mentioned above I just went for the GS1250, made over 1000km trip this past weekend and the thing is just amazing!
Nein nein nein !!!!
I love my GSA
I got rid of my 2021. Good riddance. I need a bike that starts every time and doesn’t throw random engine errors-especially when the bike is less than a year old.
Very nice, but that is a high price.
Hi, BackDraft Bikes!
This is Kyra from KEMIMOTO, one of the top 5 sellers in the auto & motor accessories field. We looked through your UA-cam channel and get that you focus on Harley Davidson motorcycles.I am writing this email to invite you to review our Harley products which fit your UA-cam channel. Are you interested in working with us? Look forward to your reply.Thank you!
I really want to love this bike and it’s extremely tempting to just go for it, but I just have 0 faith in Harley Davidson overall to build a “reliable” modern motorcycle??? I just feel like they will keep having problem and eventually scrap it? I hope I am wrong. I really want that new engine in a bike though, but not the sportster S, don’t trust this one, and Harley can keep that little 975 bike of theirs for $15k.
Seems like there’s got to be something else Harley could put the 1250 in? 🤔 wonder what though? A naked bike perhaps?
That would be awesome!
Will Harley Davidson still be making this bike 10 yrs from now?
No
20 minutes of a sad man rationalizing his expensive trade in without going into a single update for 22. Last time wasting my time on this channel.
I thought it was a great review. Sorry you’re so salty about it.
Your review is extremely bias. Period, you still sound chapped over your last bike. Go ride your BMW, they have their own issues. Plenty of us have 22s and have 0 issues.
Sorry you feel that way, just for your information I do still own a Harley too. And the demo bikes, check engine light came on when I was riding it. Hey if they’ve got stuff fixed I’m game the bike is great minus the issues.
@@BackDraftBikes I don't blame you over your Pan Am, I'd be chapped to. But when you do a review, it would be better if you weren't grinding the ax over it. I was a subscriber, I seen your struggle, I get it. A review should be unbiased, the good the bad and ugly. My advice, move on from your past PA, that's my point. The percentage of problem bikes out there is small, I have looked at other ADV forums, guess what, they all have issues. I'm no apologist for HD, there are problems, the wifi sucks, they shouldn't even of bothered. But the overall bike is a pretty good experience. It's fast, efficient, comfortable, even 2 up, and mine has been very reliable, actually trouble free.
Nah I'm going to get Ducati adv
The BMW will still run circles around the PA and last years longer ...
agreed
It’s faster than the 1250GS. I’ve ridden them back-to-back and now own the Harley. Longevity- dunno.
It is not faster, no debate there. That shows you don't know.
