@Tatura Japan was the leader in home video equipment: sony, panasonic, sanyo, canon, fujifilm, nikon, minolta, pentax etc. and these are just the well known brands
what amazes me most is that s13 was produced 1989-1994, this apparently is 1990, so this guy here is drifting and risking smashing up car that is off the showroom floor,. mind you ae86 is ended production in 87 so it's not exactly old either, yet now we are drifting cars that are 25 year old rustboxes and calling it expensive habit, imagine how much it cost them
@@dcdude345 actually the way they drift no hand brake is used most of the times so they can conserve more the tires as um can see the tires don't screech that much in this video as compared to hand braking drift (they drift by steering and accelerator pedal)
Basically, because of this video a few months ago I got way deeper into the Japanese car scene and real Eurobeat (not the mainstream stuff just known, because of Initial D)!
2 reasons...its early 90's so..cars like silvia, skyline, rx7 still brand new and expensive and second Thanks to media for that tons of 90's JDM appear in a lot of drift scene..back 80's you wanna a cheapest car but still offer lot of fun thats why you see AE86, KP61, and that TE71 corolla thats i just realize they actually exist
My friend just got his old Hi8 camera working, we're going to be tearing up the mountains in his 240 and my 86 and record some footage. Hopefully it'll looks something like this!
Oh the nostalgia. When driving on Japanese mountain passes there used to be signs that said "ドリフトのコーナー" which preceded those corners where drifting was, not only permitted, but mandatory. Real hassle for buses but they managed: ua-cam.com/video/XO758UtlotE/v-deo.html
as cliche as it sounds, videos like these inspired what i want to do with my life so whatever good position that im in, in 5 years time, you played a part in it. anything bad is on me
People mention how they stay in their lanes but look at the lanes, they are pretty wide for single lanes so even if u cross over or go too wide you’ll be fine, it’s a little over what looks like two cars side by side in width per lane
Those are some weird cars, Of course there are AE86 and S13, no touge drifting video would be complete without them, but then, what is that black fastback whose front end looks like JDM version of VW B2 Passat, and what is that red RWD hatchback? so sick gotta know more about it, is it made by Toyota, looks like it's made by Toyota by design cues especially taillights
@@MajorSamm would it be possible for you to upload this remix somewhere else if you still have the track? I really dig it and that channel seems to have been deleted...
How do you expect them to shift the car's weight when they gotta keep in their lane before the corner? It's a public road in the daytime, there's traffic everywhere
@@en6598 right, they're drifting in Japan downhill blindly without anyone checking for the upcoming traffic, ok. At least you guys have logic, good for you.
this is actually really nice video quality for 1990

Japanese quality👌
I think this is good quality look at some videos from the 70s they can be better than this which is amazing
This quality is better than some 2000's videos😂
love it how most of them stayed within the lane
only real way to be safe when drifting on public roads.
That's how you know they are Japanese
japan: do crazy stuff, but make sure to not harm anyone else

In the 1990s people had AND more money, AND cars werent that expensive back then
KP61, AE86, TE71, S13. These cars are legends of legal/illegal road racing back then in most of Asia.
