A lot of great songs from the era work well with this scenario, however, every time I hear this song I instantly envision the choppers, just meant to be together. Good job son.
My grandpa was in a Huey throughout the war. He said the guys in the back had to sit on their helmets because the Vietnamese would shoot through the bottoms of the helicopters as they fly over.
Part of the reason this song seems to "go" with the UH-1 is pretty subtle. Main rotor speed of these birds is ~320 RPM. Tempo of Fortunate Son is 128 BPM. This means the main rotor rotates 2.5 times for every beat of the music. In other words, you get 5 "slaps" for every beat.

To all those Milinials who say the Baby Boomer generation sucks, just remember the half that served their country during the Vietnam War Era. These men and women never got a parade for their service, and sure don't deserve the insults hurled at them by some Commie Milinals who seek to devide our country by generation. This is a great video, thank you for sharing it. ✌
Very nicely said 👍👏👏 👏👏 👏
@@managainstmachine3395 ....that's interesting. I didnt know LBJ and Nixon were Boomers. They and their Generals lost that war. So, your understanding is we only honors our Vets that win? If that is the case, then all the Gen X and Milinial's that fought in Iraq and Afghanistan must be dishonored too, according to your logic, are we are still fighting those wars. Are you willing to say that about Gen X and Milinial's too? You see how stupid you sound when you paint an entire generation of Boomers as evil? I think you missed my original point.

The difference is I dont care if you have that oppinion, that is the beauty of free speech. So, say stupid stuff, like you do, fine. Freedom is not free, it has been paid for by men and women fighting for freedom. Do you ever thank anyone who has helped you in your life, or do you just take and not give back? Give it a few years and you may understand gratitude and love. Listen more, and speak less and travel the 3ed world and you will learn how good you have it in the USA. Love the effect. My first helicopter ride. I’ll never forget that sensation.
That is a very interesting theory. Is there a different Song with a effect like in this Song/huey combination ?
@@zeppelino243 No idea, I'm sure other more musical people know of some songs like this.
