Headbanger, Holsinger's Fly Shop, Episode 503

The Headbanger is a pattern that I have been fishing for years and I haver been catching big trout on them. Everyone ties them a little differently and this is how I tie mine. with big patterns like this one I always seem to miss a step here and there on some of my flies like putting the rubber legs on one of the hooks. That's not a big deal the fish won't know you forgot it, just fish it! This pattern is my go to when it's raining and the water is starting to rise and change color. The large size of the fly makes a lot of commotion in the water and makes for an easy target in the stained water.
