I am 40, but I feel like I’ve been going through PM since 2013. My current symptom is feeling like my heart is racing followed by goosebumps on the back of my legs. Comes and goes quickly, always right before or during my cycle. Here are my symptoms I’ve experienced over time, if it helps anyone: Palpitations Night sweats Hot flashes Cold flashes Vertigo Insomnia Heartburn at night Nausea Joint pains occasionally Electrical zaps in head
I had this same problem. I went to the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack. Heart disease runs in my family big time. Course they found nothing. Saw two different cardiologists. Even had a catheter done in my heart. Nothing. It wasn’t until after all a of this did I learn it could be related to my perimenopause. More doctors, especially cardiologists, NEED to learn about this to help educate others like me. We have this and are scared and have no clue what’s going on.
What are you taking to ease your symptoms? I been dealing with insomnia, heart racing, anxiety, and panic attacks 😢 Usually this occurs while menstruation or a few days after.
@@mrs.s8855 unfortunately nothing. Tried HRT but that caused me to bleed for 10 days just to have another 10 day period every two weeks. I’m on a low dose birth control. But it only stops my periods. All my other symptoms (all the ones you listed) I’m still suffering with 😩
@@CatherineTillman-qy4tn Sorry you are still having these symptoms. Yesterday, I had an episode where my heart started racing and I started panicking. Maybe accuputure may help. Well wishes!
Try RNA Reset Remag and Remyte. I am 44 and know I'm in perimenopause. I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation nine years ago. I opted against medications and struggled off and on. My symptoms are worse just before ovulation (I now understand that the body is struggling to ovulate and this causes a lot of issues). I add ReMag and ReMyte to a 33 oz bottle of water and sip on it. I've also started taking LMNT. The magnesium capsules and pills make my symptoms worse, but the liquid supplements really help. I hope you can all get some relief.
I've had crazy heart palpitations constantly day/night for months. A big crashing heartbeat, about every 3 beats. Deep breathing, meditation, no caffeine, etc do not have any affect to stop them. (47, peri) It is affecting my sleep and quality of life. I am going to talk to my doctor about starting on HRT, I believe it's from low estradiol as I learn more about menopause. A few years ago i had heart tests done... all came back normal & they sent me home with no further help. It felt very dismissive. Update 10/10/2024... HRT has not seemed to solve the problem, but a little over a week ago I started taking 6,000 mcg of B12 daily, and they went away overnight. I haven't had any palpitations since the day I started the B12... hoping this isn't just a coincidence.
@sitbytheocean5998 Wow. Sounds like an awful experience with palpitations. So sorry to hear it's been so rough. It's good that you've had your heart checked out. It's also very possible that optimizing your estradiol can make a difference. It's definitely worth a try.

I have a nice cardiologist that understands and agrees that it is hormonal, but other doctors perceive it in my medical chart that I have a heart issue. Frustrating. I had heart flutters and been on beta blockers since I was 23 - I’m 63 now. It all came to a head last year when my BP dropped to 90/40. I had a 5mm hole in my aortic valve leaflet, which was bicuspid instead of tricuspid. I required Open Heart Surgery to replace my valve. I was stunned that no Cardiologist ever caught this through the years. According to my surgeon it was caused by endocarditis. Don’t know when or how.
I was put on beta blockers years ago for a couple of years. After stopping them, I learned that they damage and weaken the heart. I don’t know if that’s what happened to you, but I’m sure glad I stopped taking them. Hope you’re doing well.
I’ve had heart palpitations daily for 3 years. My ferritin level has been low and I’m going through menopause. I’ve had a time with heart palps. They are a pain in the rear. They’ve gotten better on the last 2 months. I increased my estrogen to 2mg but my ferritin still low so I’m having to take something for that. I think I would be ok if I didn’t have the palps. It really can make you very anxious. I’ve been to cardiology had the work up and they said they thought it was Covid. But never checked anything else. I’ve had to be my own advocate throughout this process. Practitioners just don’t care about menopause people and they are scared to death or HRT. HRT is the least of our worries. I have finally found me a practitioner that listens to me.
@AngelaJones2433 That's a tough situation, for sure.
