I haven’t a clue! I do have a lot of digestive issues and Ive had my heart evaluated several times while I was pregnant when it’s the worst and they always say my heart is fine that I’m just having pvcs and pacs with intermittent runs of tachycardia! It’s horrible but I will say it’s definitely coming from my vagal nerve being irritated from my stomach issues. I notice them more if my stomach is upset

I wouldn't mind if it was a decent drummer - someone steady and mellow like Mick Fleetwood. Trouble is when I get some free jazz guy in there, thinks he's clever, sticking in all those crazy extra beats. I know I'm really in trouble when Keith Moon shows up..!

PVC's for 30+ yrs. Still here lol. Early beats, late beats, sometimes quick beats. Sounds like Morse code. Fainted only twice but just a few seconds when heart felt like it actually flipped. Only once heard beats that sounded like horse hooves on a road in my head.
Started 4 months after giving birth. Had a DVT day after birth.
Severe flu 3 months after giving birth. Then following month severe panic attacks. PVC's followed by rapid pulse over 220 & can't breathe. Finally 4 yrs later diagnosed with MVP. Not a click but doc said a splitting sound. Valve worked well till it didn't. Why was hard to diagnose. Sleep apnea since an infant. Menopause actually helped calm heart down. No more panic attacks & PVCs not often. Found birth family in 92. Dad & 2 sisters had MVP. Dad finally had to get a pace maker & had heart failure. Hope who reads this knows that you can & will survive the feeling of crappy beats lol

Doc, years ago when I was at the peak of my health anxiety (hypochondria), I used to watch your videos all the time. They really helped me put things and my symptoms into perspective, I really appreciate your time and efforts used in explaining these videos. I don’t run back and forth to emergency rooms anymore. It’s been a couple years since I came to the conclusion that I wasn’t dying. But I came to search these exact beats, saw your video first, and clicked immediately. They’re really annoying, and happen constantly. But apparently super common. Thanks again!

One thing I have enjoyed about your videos is how very clear you make things. I'm currently under a cardiologist at the northern general hospital in Sheffield. Before watching any of your videos I was petrified my heart was going to stop or suddenly I'd have a heart attack due to my palpitations and ectopics. Although my tests are still on going I feel so much more relaxed. I watched the video were you tapped out each type of palpitation and after it felt like a weight had been lifted. Nobody has ever bothered to go into such detail to explain. The anxiety that I had about my heart has almost completely gone. Thank you for making your videos they make it easy for people like myself to understand what's going on. I hope you take the time to read this and understand that your videos have made my mood and quality of life better. Going on 29 and have been experiencing these palpations much more often. The first time I had one was sometime in middle school where it felt like a constant rapid heart beat and I was keeled over in fear. They went away for a long time but now I've had them again more consistently for a couple years. Learning more about what ectopic beats are helps. I've experienced all 4 different types mentioned in the video. Really scary and have had ekgs and a heart monitor come back normal but this is not normal. I keep trying to pay attention to what's triggering it and can't seem to pinpoint it. Thought it was anxiety but I think it is that a long with if I changes planes, going from sitting up to laying with legs up the wall can sometimes trigger it for me so now I avoid even being upside-down with is frustrating for someone whos used to being more athletic.

I have MVP and mild regurgitation but at 73 Dr. says I will probbly never have to do anything other than the beta blocker I take for my bp and skipping feeling. I have had this for 40yrs. @@Tyler-qr9um I've had them for 3 years now.. I used to get them every second heartbeat it was horrible.. the best advice I could give you is to now be scared of them fear makes more happen.. these skipped or extra beats cannot and will not kill you I promise that! It's the anxiety and fear that keeps them going. The minute you lose the fear that these bring you'll find that they become less frequent and eventually you'll only feel one every now and then.. I have days, weeks even that I don't have any and that's because I'm not afraid of them any more. If your anxious it causes your body to produce adrenaline and adrenaline fuels these things. When you calm down so will your heart. I also take beta blockers called bisoprolol that have helped tremendously! Cut out caffeine drink more water and avoid getting too stressed. This is by far the best way to describe my personal situation in dealing with pvcs. I am posting today in hopes that someone will find hope when it seems all is lost. After spending a fortune on doctors, I have come to the conclusion, we are on our own. I believe this doctor has a true heart for his patients. So rare in the times we live. PVCS can cause a person to want to give up. I am telling you, there is hope and want to share what has worked for me. I tried beta blockers, magnesium and cartia. Nothing seemed to help. At times, I couldnt take an advil in fear that it would cause me to have a fit. For me, I am taking advanced TRS. TRS is a contaminant removal system. I have come to find out, metal detox and parasites may have been the problem all along. TRS may frighten someone in the event they are not aware that the older generation use to deworm thier children every spring. I believe medicine has become too govermentalized and we need to go back to basics with all the technology and modified foods that is being forced on us. As of right now, I am healed by the grace of god. No episode since taking TRS. I was worn out in life. PVCS were wearing me down. My health deteriated rapidly. Learn to eat healthy and lower you caffine consumption. (Quit eating bread and lower your sugar consumption) Keep the faith my friends and may god give you the keys to your healing. Thank you for the videos sir! You give us hope!!!!

I read that a lot of this has to do with heart rate. At night the heart slows down at resting rate. I'm in my early 60's and just started having the slight fluttering in chest at bedtime a few nights ago (it's not even what I would call a distinct fluttering, it's just a brief strange sensation in the chest I can't really describe) and if I monitor my pulse with the hand I feel what seems like a "skipped beat" immediately after the fluttering sensation. Happens only at night when I go to bed and my heart rate has slowed down to about between 50 and 55 beats per minute. I'm *_generally_* healthy, (Not an athelete) Never been overweight, I exercise moderately by walking several blocks around 3-4 times a week. My blood pressure has always been in the low normal range and my heart rate has always been slower at night as compared with day. But in the past I've notice it at about 60 beats or a little under. Rarely have I noticed it at 50 - 55 beats. Anyway, my understanding is that the abnormally slow heart rate can cause the arrhythmia if the heart's beating too slow. There's something called "Bradycardia" but there's also a condition called "Bradyarrhythmia" (Slow heart rate with arrhythmia) which could be a symptom of "sick sinus syndrome"? However, during the day I have no problem with this because my heart rate is up around 70 to 90 beats per minute. So, based on that, I don't know if it's really anything to worry about? It seems to me a sick sinus syndrome issue would cause a problem at any time of the day and not just at night during slow heart rate.

As long as I could continue on in the rat race, I figured I didn't need to stop. I finally slowed down and calmed down so that the only issue I had was occasional atrial fibrillation, mostly brought on by caffeine. I'm retired now, very calm and almost never have heart beat irregularities. I'm calm and secure now because of how hard I worked when younger. I don't regret it at all.

The problem I have with ectopic beats, as described, is that mine don’t show as extra beats on an ecg. My heart beat simply pauses for a longer space. No low, early beats but the explanation of
F the heavy thud after the space makes sense and also shows on the ecg as such. I’ve found that magnesium glycinate, 500mg taken at breakfast and another at bedtime smooths out the beating extremely well. I tried potassium but I don’t think my issue is a low potassium because when I took the potassium, my heart fluttered more than ever before. I went back to the magnesium glycinate and that is what my body seems to need. The ectopic beats, the flutters, from my analysis are triggered by the vagus nerve and have a large correlation to stomach contents. I find that if I’ve had strong garlic or onion and my stomach is producing wind, that can trigger erratic heart episodes. If that happens, try to “force” a belch ant your heart will react almost instantly and return to regular service. Taking a deep breath also triggers a response via the vagus nerve for the heart to squeeze blood to the lungs because there’s a lot of oxygenated air there right now. That usually overrides the fluttering and your heart returns to regular service. I also found a natural healer that told me to do a circular massage on the inside of my left arm about 3fingers down from the base of the hand. It also works but I have no idea why. They said it was a pressure point. It’s a short massage of about 5 seconds, pressing lightly with 1finger, repeated again after about 3 seconds if the flutter continues. If it needs more than about 3 massages, then it’s something else and you should communicate with someone and possibly see a cardio doctor, it’s not just the vagrancies of the nervous system. B12 can also help as it’s critical to neural transmission. I’m not a doctor and anything I’ve said is simply what I’ve found to help me. Use at your own discretion.

I have pretty much diagnosed myself with something known as Roemheld Syndrome. It comes from access gases and can be caused by reflux and Hiatal Hernia as well. It may occur when you are bloated as well due to pressure against the diaphragm which then irritates the vagus nerve. My symptoms are skipped beats feeling. My heart will beat normal then seem to stop for a few seconds then a thud and beat again. Sometimes it happens periodically, sometimes they happen right after another in a row. I’ve had Holter Monitoring and it shows sinus rhythm with pvcs. I’ve had a heart ultrasound and it’s normal. No heart damage or heart disease. I also get bad episodes of severe tachycardia. The pvcs are especially bad after a tachycardia episode. If you’ve been told by multiple docs you’re fine and it’s just your anxiety or too much stress and you are having these symptoms make sure they rule out Roemheld Syndrome. It may be hard to find a doc that specializes in it for it isn’t very often studied in the medical field. I’ve talked about it to a couple of drs and they had no idea what I talked about. It’s sad to say this but these days we can’t rely on just any doctor because most of them just like to diagnose anxiety now and prescribe some pills. Yes anxiety is very real. I have panic disorder so I know but not everything is anxiety. I literally have a friend that went in for flu like symptoms. Throwing up, fever, chills. The whole nine yards. They said he was making himself sick and it was anxiety lol. I hope this helps someone that is having these symptoms but feels lost. It’s irritating to have these scary episodes and the doc look at you and as your fine!!

To much caffeine can cause your heart to skip beats also

Doctor gupta. I suffer from anxiety panic attacks. Back in may I ate lots of chocolate and other sweets and donaugh that day. Next morning I woke up with very ugly palpitation and skipped beat and heart flutters that lasted for 6 hours. Does coffeine in chocolate caused this episode or possibly the high intake of sugars or both?

Sugar gives me palpitations in addition to caffeine. Quitting both made mine nearly disappear
