Jollof rice is originally from Senegambia which its Wolof name is Jollof after the Jollof empire which led the whole of Senegambia before colonization.
The one that took it to Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Ghana 🇬🇭 wanted to give credit and called it Jollof rice meaning Senegambian rice.

I agree. She did a fantastic job. You don't need to parboil the rice, just put enough liquid to cover the top of the rice and cook on low heat. Make sure you trap the steam in by covering the pot tightly. The rice will cook well and will not be soggy. But for your first attempt, you did well 👏

Let the jollof rice slowly cook for about 30-40mins. That way, you would not have to parboil your rice and the jollof rice would turn out soft and flavorful.

Hello Sister. I wasn't going to comment on your Videos until Jollof Rice. First attempt is excellent. The more you make it the better you become. The Rosted Peppers were on point. I have recently switched to this method with Fresh Tomatoes. Once the peppers are done I blend. I don't use Purée. When I season I use Dry Dill. I tend to add the rice to the sauce early which soaks up the sauce. Tin foil is also used wrapped to the lid. The foil traps all the steam which cooks the rice. I do enjoy your content. Thank you for Nurturing all your Children. I am amazed that you're a Super Mum who looks so good, nearly 30 years with Your Husband. Blessings to you and your family.

You actually nailed that for your first attempt. The parboiling rice is kinda the Nigeraun tradition. You can instead with the stew you nade water it down with the stock and water then when it starts to boil you add yohr water. So the cups of water you add will determine the amount of rice you add. The rice type also counts. Some rice like water and some don't. But that genuinely looks good ❤❤

The parboiling rice is kind of the nigerian tradition?😂😂No, its YOUR tradition not the nigerian one😂. I've seen party groups cook jollof several times. They dont EVER parboil and it comes out heavenly

Finally, it's a YES for me! It's really easy to miss some VERY essential steps to making jollof rice if you're not Nigerian or at least Ghanaian. You nailed it in every possible way. Just a tip, you might want to try it out with basmati rice or long grain rice next time, it'll definitely give you dem full jollof vibes. But I loved this video!
