  • After delivering a load on Wednesday, and replacing my radiator ran clutch on my hotshot truck on Thursday, I got back to my F450 project on Friday.
I stripped the cab down to bare metal pretty much and cut a piece of firewall from a section of a 99 F250 cab I saved.
This piece will be welded onto the F450 cab to allow for mounting the 99 PCM and wiring harness connectors into the engine bay. The wiring harnesses and PCM's are located very differently between the two trucks.
I'll be making videos of the project, so stay tuned and hopefully I won't get too far behind.

I put this truck on hold and purchased a 2010 Peterbilt. The holes in the crossmember appear to be identical to the 350's that I have. I made numerous measurements to verify the transmission support and engine mount holes would work.

    So you can make a V10 Triton in in a 7.3 ? Bc I got a F250 and a F450 that’s has A damaged motor block

The 2005 F450 I bought had a blown V10. I had started building a 7.3 for another truck but wound up with a 7.3 from a CoPart wreck that has been doing great. To replace the 2005 V10 with the 7.3 requires having a 7.3 plus the complete wiring harnesses, dashboard, PCM, IDM etc. It's a ton of work, but very much worth it IMO. You are not converting the engine, you are replacing it and ALL the electronics in the truck to match it. If your 250 is a donor truck, then it's doable. I used the dash and harness from a crew cab Lariat so I will have electric windows, mirrors and locks (even though my 450 is a regular cab).

The equipment isn't the issue. Nothing wrong with a 95 with a 7.3. I've had two of them, the first one bought brand new. The issue is fuel prices are high and rates are crap. I would not quit a paying job right now. Keep saving your money, buying equipment and building up your cash reserves and do your research. The trailer I bought new 2-1/2 years ago has almost doubled in price. I can sell mine for 1-1/2 X what I paid for it!
