Absolutely didn't talk too much. I think this was one of the best instructional videos I've ever watched on you tube. Completely on topic start to finish. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I just washed my mk2 escort shell, sprayed black 2yrs ago and sat under a cover in my garage.
Stunning colour, but it is so annoying, after one clean and I can see light swirls. Had to wash the sand beads from under dash panel etc
After watching this, I will follow your steps from clay bar, as the wash has a wax in it, I used snow foam.
I nearly didn't click as thought a bit long.
Think you covered a great deal whilst showing.
Thanks, as it second vid I have watched. The first 4 mins long. That left me with questions.
The second, well you answered them.
Time to check the ceramic I have boat is a proper ceramic and second, check the curing time.
Sounds like a bit more science to it, then a wax on wax off application 😂
Watching this.
Didn’t think you talked too much at all. With detail shops charging $3000 for ceramic coatings I’d imagine there’s a good bit of detail to be divulged if you wish to do it yourself. Thanks for the video!
Properly explained. Introvert understand everything. Top man.
Introverts unite! But separately... in our own homes.
Thanks mate. You did a fantastic job. I was intimidate about ceramic coating until now. You video was through and indeed comprehensive. I just took delivery of a new M4 Comp. I feel confident now after watching your video to apply the coating. Thanks again mate. 🙂
Thank you for the very detailed instruction video :)

Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this vid !!!! Makes so much more sense now 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Happy to help!
I recently came across an advertisement for ceramic coating services priced at around $1,500 (and I know it can get even higher). This prompted me to search for a do-it-yourself video. After watching your video, I visited your website to purchase the necessary materials. Following your instructions step by step, I am thrilled with the result and how straightforward the process turned out to be. Excellent work!
Your support means a lot to me. I'm happy to hear about your successful DIY experience!

Thanks For Video
I’m looking to do this on my 2019 Tesla Model 3, but I need to touch up some of the paint with rock chip spots, any suggestions on that process to make it to this one?
I really appreciate this video and I’m looking forward to doing this myself instead of hiring it out.
Great video, thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Finished my ceramic coating project today with this product. Used an entire bottle on a 2019 Toyota Tundra. Ceramic app and wipe off is one of the easiest parts. Clay bar is the hardest. I've done clay bar before but on this Tundra there was so much rail dust that it took my almost 4 hours to clay bar all of the rail dust and other contaminants off. Even then, there were a few I couldn't get. Detox coating is the easiest. Overall I'm happy with the process. It was a bit warmer in my garage so flashing I think was a bit faster than 3 to 5 minutes but I tried to be patient and waited close to the 3 minutes in most cases. Interested to see how it repels water, mud, etc.
Amazing! Glad it worked out well for you.
8oz to do a Tundra? I'm going to be doing a Tacoma and was wondering if 8oz will cover it?
@@PianoUniverse 8oz. should be plenty.
Great video, thanks. Best regards
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Fantastic video! Thank you for putting this together. Perfect level of explanation, for me anyway! I detail boats and cars but never have gone as far as ceramic. I'll be sure to order from your links if you provide them.
I have post-ceramic questions, though, that maybe someone can help with.
How long does it typically last?
Are there certain washing products that should be used after ceramic?
Do you buff the ceramic off somehow after so long before applying a fresh coat once it's worn?
Is there any sense in doing more than one ceramic coat at a time?
Does this completely eliminate the need for wax?
Does detail spray hurt it after?
Thanks in advance for any advice on the above!
Good video. Thank you
Thank you too!
Nice video thankyou 🎉 cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video. I’m confident I can do my truck now.
You can do it!
This seems a lot easier than waxing tbh. Every time I've asked friends if I should ceramic coat my vehicle, they tell me I should pay someone to do it because it's a difficult process and expensive if I mess it up on my own.. lol But as someone who has waxed my cars for the past 10 years... This looks 10x easier and less painful on my shoulders.
Did you end up coating yours ..I'm in same boat ..I've been waxing vehicles for years ..but you talk to people about cerermic coating and they tell you it has to be done by a pro
Awesome video
Thanks!
Thanks 👍🏼
Glad you enjoyed!
Great video. Thank you. I'm getting a new car in about a month and I would like to apply. Hope often should I go through this process?
Also in between, do I wash the car with a basic wash, water soap dry....?
Same question. How os the maintenance for a ceramic coated paint?
It really depends upon which level of coating protection you opt for, as they do range in terms of longevity. For example, our coatings last anywhere from 3 Years up to 10 Years.
Maintenance is very straight forward, routine washing and occasional topping and deep cleaning which can be done with just a couple products right in your garage or driveway.
Here's some more information: ethoscarcare.com/blogs/diy-car-detailing/maintain-your-ceramic-coating-like-a-pro#:~:text=They%20require%20maintenance%20and%20DO,and%20defect%20free%20as%20possible.
Great guide, you have earned yourself a follower from Pakistan. 💚
Thank you so much for your support! I'm glad you found the guide helpful.
Thanks for the vidie😊
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I've used clay bars since 1996. It is a super easy process with a high yield return. You are removing tree sap and micro-metalic magnetized particles from the paint. I presume that the metallic particles likely come from semi metallic brake pad dusting and brake disc wear.
Agreed, clay bars work great!
can you use a clay bar on window glass????
@@berardoferrariYes you can.
Thanks for the instructional video, sir. Im new to ceramic and have several questions. Do i need to use both clay bar and decontaminating spray? Whats the purpose of clay bar if i dont have tree sap/metallic particles on my car? What is "flash"? Is microfiber towels ok to use? How does the polish remove scratches? Whats the time frame in applying ceramic? Do i remove ceramic coat after applying? How do i do that before the coat dries? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.
What is the graphite mayric coating that is offered as a bundle with the ceramic coating?
Great. Which ceramic coating did you apply
Check description
Can you send me a price list on what I should be charging for car & trucks thank you video was helpful
What are you guys prices doing this I so window tinting now thinking of offering this
I’d definitely like to Ceramic coat & protect my new vehicle, the end results are amazing. But all the videos I’ve seen, this product must be applied in an controlled environment and cure for 12 to 24 hours. I rent in an complex, so I’d need a professional service done. I’m considering getting it done. Good 👍🏾 video.
No worries, as long as it doesnt rain within a few hours of application you'll be fine.
Great info 👍
What detail spay would you recommend to use with a clay bar or what properties should one consider when choosing one to use?
Our Finish Shine works well as a clay bar lube or even just a soapy water solution!
DX 330 is the best to use before you clay and after.
Yea, wow, it is so complicated. You have to wipe it on your clean car. Who would ever think of that? And the method of application is next level, the wiping on part. Just amazing.
Should be pretty easy for you then, huh!!!
Right?!
If you do not do professional ceramic coating beforehand, will this product do much to help vs professional work?
Nice video! Thanks! I have one question though - How do you coat tricky areas, for example under the door handle ? Do you still use the applicator or just remove the cloth and use it directly to reach underneath ?
Those applicators have a foam core and will conform and compress to get to those areas.
At work I use the supplied applicator block and swatch that comes with the coating. It has no problems getting under the door handles. I will remove the swath to get into the intricate areas of the wheels and similar.
Great video. I am torn between using Armour Shield IX or Car Pro CQuartz UK 3.0, topped with SIC. Which would you choose?
We recommend Ethos EZPZ: ethoscarcare.com/products/ceramic-coating
Great video by the way and extremely informative. Thank you for being so detailed.
3 questions:
1) how long should I let it cure before taking the vehicle out on the road?
2) Can I put PPF on before a ceramic coating?
3) am I doing anything positive by adding a second coating?
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you found the video informative. Let me help answer your questions.
What is the coverage area of a bottle? I am considering using this on my 40 foot Class A Motorhome.
You'd need about 200ml for a 40' motorhome. Or two bottles of our Boats & Coats coating.
I don’t have a garage. Can you leave your car outside for it cure ? Can I put car cover right after the ceramic coating? How do you know when you have a high spot ?
Very helpful video! Im just getting into detailing my own cars and was wondering about how many uses you get out of microfiber towels doing this before you need to replace them. Like how many times can you wash and reuse them? And fo you tldry them in the dryer?
I'm glad you found the video helpful! Microfiber towels can last quite a while with proper care and washing.
What about multiple ceramic coating layers? Cause here in the Philippines, they advertise it like there are different coatings. Others do 4 layers, some do upto 7-9 layers of coating.
Based on out lab testing, theres no additional benefits beyond doing 2 layers of coating.
@@ethoscarcarehere in malaysia, most detailer shop offer 3-6 layer of coating lmao..they just want to prey on the uninformed
Easy to follow video. Can the ceramic coating be applied outdoors in direct sunlight?
It will vary depending upon the coating, our EZPZ ceramic coating can be applied in direct sunlight: ethoscarcare.com/products/ceramic-coating
Odd question, but maybe not so odd, but what brand sprayers are those? I always find the sprayers I suck kinda suck.
Great video and instruction. The biggest mistake DIYers make with applying coatings is water spots left on the vehicle and applying sealer over them. Remember on your final wipedown, whatever you see after prep is what your paint will look like after coating, I've seen water spots completely ruin the hard work put into the prep but they forgot one important step, use a quality water spot remover!
Great point!
I got a good question 🤔 can I apply a ceramic coating on a color matched plastic like my rear bumper plastic? I can do it as long as I clay bar it first?no compounding needed?
Yes you can!
If the car is brand new and has wax from the dealer will the clay and detox get it all off or is polishing necessary to remove all the wax?
Can this system be used on top of custom paint jobs?
Do i need to clay bar a 2024 bought in November?
I work at a Quarry and my car gets coated in dust daily . Can ceramic coating on the car prevent the quarry dust from sticking on the car paintwork?
Nice walkthrough - is the product available in Canada?
I appreciate your positive feedback! I'll look into the availability in Canada for you.
Can we use ipa for clay bar
What is the name of the finish shine spray? Thanks for a great video.
Which one?
Thanks
No problem
This is great, how long does you product last and can I purchase it on Amazon? Recommend this over graphene coating?
Yes its available on Amazon! EZPZ offers the quickest and easiest application of all of our coatings, but doesn't offer the longevity as some of our graphene options.
Nice and educational video.
Does anyone know how much does this type of ceramic coating last?
Weeks? Years?
Thank you for watching! Ceramic coatings typically last for years depending on the quality and maintenance.
What is the blue liquid you sprayed on the surface right after using the clay bar and before applying the ceramic? Great video !
Yes, correct
where do you buy the detail spray you use with the clay bar ?
Right here, ethoscarcare.com/products/ceramic-detail-spray
Great video and thank you.
The only contradiction is when you wore the gloves so the oils from your hands doesn’t make contact with the car. When you wore the gloves you touched all of the outer parts of the gloves with your hands so they were contaminated.
Thanks for the info!
I have a new car ordered and enjoy detailing with quick detail and gtechnic c2 liquid sealant, so is it worth getting it ceramic coated
Yes, absolutely
So I just got a '23 Audi A4 with 3k miles on it the paint looks new still so I don't believe I need a polish, but what are signs that you do need a polish?
Oh hey , nice video, curious after the clay wax is done, could one just re-wash the car to get off the any left over clay? I am wondering if the bottle you used to wipe off old clay could be the same bottle that was used with clay bar. i notice most products come with clay bar + detailer included. thank you
Yes you can!
