A lot of brand new cars are transported by train to the dealership and get heavy rail dust contamination from the steel train wheels and brakes. Great video as usual!
Good overview of the process! Consider wearing a respirator when applying those coatings, the chemicals are no joke. For a daily driver I prefer a sealant like Blackfire, which is hydrophobic for 2-3 months. I've ceramic coated a vehicle before but to me it wasn't worth the 8 hours of prep and 3 hours of application and cleanup time. I used the AvalonKing coating, and it was great for 12 months, and not any better than sealant beyond that point. I can wash and quickly seal a car every three months (which I do even if ceramic coated) and be done in 2 hours so the extra work wasn't worth it for me.
I have applied this coating a lot to dozens of vehicles it’s a great coating every 6 months it needs a good water spot remover it helps to break down all water based deposits that the number 1 issue with coating. Ignore iron remover water spot remover also remove iron. This is 1 of two of my favorite coating. Good job adams and b and b blending!!!
I experienced when you polish a new car with a fine finishing polish and foam pad, it makes the paint surface feel even more smooth and silky. Never noticed any negative side effects. ty
I like how you described the process of cleaning the paint. When you used the graph to illustrate the process, it made much more sense to me, then someone just saying don't buff to much, now I know why and how to go about it. Thanks.
I love your channel, the amount of prep work you have to do for most of these products is way more than I'm ever willing to do. The first company to come out with a mediocre ceramic coating where all you have to do is spray it all over the car and rinse it off will make big $$$.
I have an '02 Excursion in solid Red, no fancy fender trim crap. used a local Car Wash near my son's home out of my state; that puts on a spray wax, they offer Ceramic, but the cost is more than I want to pay.... used that car wash every day for 3 weeks before I left that area and drove back home..... the difference in appearance was great.... at 80 years young now, I don't think I have the endurance to manually apply a Clay Bar and go over the entire vehicle.

Thank you for the video and down to earth recommendations. Easy to understand processes as well. Since I have no garage, I will have to stick with Wipe on products like Lithium seal and squeal, etc. But this I really enjoyed seeing the process!
The thing about applying a ceramic coating is, you have to have a lot of light all over that vehicle to be able to see that you're buffing it all out. I have a really big garage but unfortunately there is not near enough light, nor is there any water drain. I do everything outdoors, but I don't want to apply a ceramic coating outside. Even in the shade, I don't feel like there's enough light to really see what I'm doing. Hopefully I can get some lighting installed at some point to do this right. Great Video!
Oh man this video brought me back lots of memories 😢 the first ceramic product I've ever worked with was Adam's just like you did here and it was on my 08 corvette. Loved that car absolutely stunning. I sold it couple on months ago 😭😖
Most useful video. Even if you are going to pay for it. You have a full understanding how and why. It may also keep you from paying for something you don't need.
Before clay bar, put a plastic bag on your hand (like a zip loc) and then lightly rub across the paint. For some reason it makes it much easier to feel contaminants. Then you can better judge how much clay bar is needed as you go around the car.
I'm assuming you're talking about iron remover. I've used a few of them. Without using 3 or 4 side by side I doubt you'd see much difference. They all seem about the same to me. I'd be willing to bet the marketing budget for most of these companies is much larger than their R&D budget. 😂 don't get me started lol.
Im picking up a brand new car this weekend (less than 100 mi). So basically it should just need a good two bucket wash and then ceramic coating. On my 2016 with 74k I should probably do all the steps.
there are very hot cities and very cold cities, look for how to help these people with tips for day to day, also how people can save gasoline by driving better, finally help the customer when he takes his car to the workshop and they tell him what he should change the damaged parts, you can help with advice so that people save money, if the mechanic or workshop is being honest. This is a very help
How can you say that a new car doesn't have iron fallout. When that car is built it sits at a factory for months before being shipped, then it gets on a rail car and travels from point A to point B to point C enormous amount of iron contamination. Then however long it sits in a major city dealership. Bad bad advice
Every sentence you just said is an IF statement. IF it's sat for months, IF it travels by train, IF it sits one the dealer lot. Yes it's possible, so is getting hit by lightning. I can't say I've seen a brand new car in worse shape than a 5 year old daily driver. Road salt/cinders are hell on paint.

I purchased a new '19 Audi in '19 and it had a lot of environmental contamination on it. I could not believe it.
I use the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions ceramic spray. 3 coats lasts a year. It's easier than washing your windows, just about as quick.

Meguiars has one. Adams has one. I'm sure there are others as well. They are out there.

Great video. Reminder to watch out for overspray on driveways. The main reason why i stopped using spray tire shines.

Excellent video as always. Well done and thanks a ton

Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video! I agree with everything you said. Dish soap would of been fine! Totally agree.
Iron remover will be required for any vehicle that has left the factory as almost all cars are delivered on an uncovered trailer.
Great video! Question: I have hood and trunk vinyl stripes, would you want to play it safe and run a single strip if painters tape along the edges?
Very good, you gave me a lot of ideas
Thank you

Ceramic coat deez nuts!
For the decontamination do you see any difference in what you used versus more “pro”-grade products?

In a couple of years do you have to polish off all the coating before reapplying, once the coating is past it's half life?
Will you need to polish the car the next time (in 1-2 years) when you'll apply a new layer of ceramic coating? Thanks.
Im picking up a brand new car this weekend (less than 100 mi). So basically it should just need a good two bucket wash and then ceramic coating. On my 2016 with 74k I should probably do all the steps.
If your new car was rail shipped it will be covered with steel rail dust.

Great Job...
even with a ceramic or graphene coatings can you still have water stops?
Polishing should be used more to remove any previous waxes and swirls should be the secondary concern
How do these compare to the ones you spray on and buff which are obviously much cheaper? I assume doesnt last nearly as long but is it as effective?
Gloss meter would help with the difference.
When I doos this I set car out in sun and let coating be curing more faster
Hello, would you like to review the new MJJC foam cannon S V3.0? Thanks!
Absolutely not.
New vehicles ride on railroads alot of times, i would iron remove anyways
Looks like Rain X application
Great vid... thank you

@@RepairGeek you're just trying to justify being mediocre
I'm not justifying anything... Thats reality.
A Bug was harmed in the making of this video 7:21 - Thank you for your sacrifice!
Scotthd. tested most of the ceramic coatings. They don’t last that long
Most detailing products have drastically overrated durability claims.
